Who, in college football, has thrown for more yards than Mason Fine the past two seasons? No one. More than Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Ryan Finley, Will Grier, or Trace McSorley. Those five guys were all multi-year starters, all NFL draft picks, and all sit behind the rising senior quarterback from North Texas in yardage production. Mason Fine continues to rewrite the Mean Green record book. He’ll set the Mean Green TD mark this season, probably before the end of week two, and he’ll have done with roughly 40 fewer interceptions than the current leader Steve Ramsey. Agree. Great class for sure but 247 had us at #3 overall at the end How can you find your guys when many of these kids don’t have North Texas in their radar early on and think they are going p5? The fact is if a prospect has p5 offers, much like the QB we were after that just committed to Colorado, we probably aren’t going to win those battles. Instead of focusing resources in that direction, I would prefer to see us focus our strategy on how to battle against the top G5’s that we ROUTINELY go up against ala SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Colorado State, nUTSAck etc...

Looks like he has moved to Tight End position. Doing good in school as well.

In a perfect world you sign all high school but heck Texas signed a juco linebacker just a week ago so jucos play into just about every other program other than Rice. Utah State and UAB have made the juco / transfer thing work. Houston and SMU doing it big time now as well. So many great players from DFW leave the state - just wish we could give them a nice opportunity to come back home.

I’m positive towards Memphis. I remember being so impressed with their fan support back when we played them in the New Orleans Bowl. They have been outstanding in basketball for a long time and right now they appear poised to be a final four type team with Penny. Football has been improving and Norvell is an OUTSTANDING recruiter. A good point was made earlier though, the salary jump from CUSA to AAC is not as significant as you might see with coaches. If you’re UNT you really need to set Wren up to where it’s very difficult for a G5 to snap him up. If it’s a p5 you pretty much gotta let him go and take care of his family.
