  1. HUDL film is impressive: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8596613/5c189c078cd45e07ec21adc5 Looks like he was at Woodrow and is transferring into Madison (Dallas). Sort of under the radar but jumps out in the game film.
  2. “This is an unbelievable place,” Littrell said in the days leading up to spring practice. “It’s a great community and I am in my footprint close to home. We are also on the same page with our administration. The sky is the limit for North Texas because of the people who are in place here with our administration and fans.”
  3. I voted now please everyone else do the same!! GMG!
  4. So true. There will never be another Mason Fine at North Texas. He is one of a kind.
  5. The University of North Texas is partnering with the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas to help Mexican nationals in the U.S. successfully integrate into communities through education, financial literacy and health. View Full Article
  6. Great article! The only thing I will nitpick is how the scouts miss Fine's greatest attribute - the speed of his release. He gets rid of the ball in a hurry which helps him against a pass rush and leaves defensive backs flat footed. I do appreciate the publication listing him as an NFL candidate. Thanks for posting this is was a good read.
  7. Man it totally depends on how we fare leading into the Houston game. We will have a decent crowd for ACU. The UTSA game (wk 3) could be really good if we beat ACU and Smu in Big D. We also have Cal on the road which could be a toughie. We could be 4-0 or 1-3... Houston has OU (likely loss), Prairie View (sure win), The Pirate at Advocare in Houston (tough game) and Tulane on the road (could be tough!) prior to coming to Denton. Same deal for Cougars they could be 1-3 or 4-0. If we are both 3-1 and we have a loss to Cal and they OU we could still have a nice crowd for the game. Perhaps a sell out or close. If we are both 4-0 that game is a sell out! Houston game is as good a chance as we have had but a lot of it will depend on how big a crowd Houston brings.
  8. UCONN's departure from the AAC... by peruna81 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:32 pm in other sports to go back to the Big East makes sense for them financially, but it is going to hang their football program in an interesting place if the AAC decides to push back. Can't be good overall for our current conference, and I am curious where this is headed long term. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse READ MORE: http://www.ponyfans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=87211&sid=77eac46838fcf1da16b8c8692dd996c4#p1306084
  9. It’s funny but in a way we play a partial AAC schedule this year with SMU and Houston... that makes 5 Texas teams, 6 if you count ACU. That’s a pretty damn nice schedule. Think about when we were in the Belt and had not one conference team in the state.
  10. “There are only a few schools that probably make any sense at all,” he said Aresco. Aresco didn’t name names, but we can. Brigham Young? Attractive brand but so many headaches, pride among them. BYU isn’t joining a Group of 5 league, even if it deems itself the Power 6th. Boise State? Add Boise to a conference with Temple, UCF and South Florida and see how fast AAC non-revenue sports burn through their budgets. Army? Not sure AAC football member Navy would be crazy about this. North Texas? Mason Fine’s final season as UNT quarterback coincides with UConn’s final season in the AAC. Bummer. Http://www.tulsaworld.com/tncms/asset/editorial/47747039-f65c-50bc-82e7-0a93f00a7bd2
  11. Welcome to the Mean Green Family Dominique!
  12. Appreciate the update. Any thoughts on how the AAC proceeds? Consensus is always "we don't need anyone else" but I wonder if that holds true for schools like Temple in the East.
  13. Johnson is No. 24 in The Oklahoman’s Super 30 rankings of the state’s top college recruits in the 2020 class. As a linebacker entering his senior season, he is committed to North Texas. Johnson has grown from a 185-pound freshman to a 220-pound, 6-foot-4 team leader, but before he added size, he had a trait Hall noticed: steadiness. His dependability and even-keeled nature are leading him to a Division I program in Denton, Texas. Johnson committed to the Mean Green on June 12, a few days after his campus visit. When he toured schools, he recognized each university would showcase its best features, but North Texas stood out from the rest because it included his family in the experience. read more: https://oklahoman.com/article/5635161/the-oklahomans-super-30-midwest-city-linebacker-jacobi-johnson-plays-with-no-fear
