Before you cut the cord because you could stream the channels you needed and not pay $200 a month for a bunch of channels you didn't need. Now they are packaging channels together for a cost. Is it not possible that they keep packaging channels together until the rates go back up again? I sense that is where this is headed. I know I pay 4.99 a month for ESPN + right now and only use it during the football season mostly.

Does it seem like with the cord cutting it is now going back to where we started from just off just with a stream instead of a cord? Once you start bundling all this stuff the cost starts to add up!

nUTSAck For the first time in 2019, UTSA practice as a full team Tuesday, highlighted by the camp staple - the “Bird Cage Drill.” Head coach Frank Wilson was excited to get all 110 players together after a few days of split practices. As for the quarterback position, the job is still wide open, but Wilson did single out Cordale Grundy by name for his solid play early in camp. Another name to keep an eye on is Cal/Kansas State transfer Carlos Strickland. He’s logging a lot of reps and is healthy for the first time in a few seasons after suffering from a sports hernia that’s nagged him since high school. read more: https://swcroundup.com/news/2019/8/7/2019-camp-updates-august-6th

DENTON – Senior quarterback Mason Fine has accomplished quite a bit during his three-plus years in Denton. His name is all over the Mean Green record book and several other key categories are in his sights. What else is left before Fine moves on to his next chapter? Winning his last game(s) North Texas has resurrected itself quickly from the 1-11 2015 season prior to head coach Seth Littrelland Fine's arrival. The Mean Green have reached three consecutive bowl games for only the second time in program history. Unfortunately, however, the team has fallen in all three – only one of which Fine was completely healthy for. He missed the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2016 due to injury as a true freshman and last season in the New Mexico Bowl suffered a leg injury in the first quarter that cost the Peggs, Oklahoma, native the remainder of the game, despite a gritty effort to fight through the pain. The Mean Green are positioned well again to compete for a conference championship and find success in bowl season. One of the only things left on Fine's sparkling UNT resume is a win in his last game. Wins in the final regular season game against defending Conference USA champion UAB, a conference championship game and then a bowl game are all realistic goals for this team, and Fine will be driving the bus. read more: https://meangreensports.com/news/2019/8/6/football-whats-left-for-fine-to-accomplish.aspx

DRC Tuesday practice notes: Battles in secondary shaping up
Harry replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Disappointing. How the heck can you show up to camp not in shape? -
Does anyone notice a trend here? Women's soccer is arguably our best sport at UNT, and how is Hedlund building it? TRANSFERS. They go to OU for one year, bask in the glory of that invitation and then bail when they realize they are homesick and don't get to do what they want to do most (PLAY SOCCER). It's a very smart strategy for a program located in DFW where you have so much talent leaving the area. We see this trend in football with both Houston and SMU happening right now. Half of their recruiting classes are comprised of high level transfers looking to get back closer to home.

Very valid point you make. And welcome to the site. The other side of it is, given how much they have put into the programs would they just let them wither and die? No I think they would try to keep winning and building them as best they could. The fact is, programs like Baylor, TCU, Kansas, OSU, Kansas State etc benefit MIGHTILY from being associated with the likes of Texas and OU. Go look at their attendance rolls and tell me which home games they sell out and make the most revenue with? University of Houston had every right to be considered in the expansion talks with the Big 12. But they were booted out because these smaller programs knew UofH would surpass them quickly given their size and being in such a hotbed of recruiting. That is not competition that is a perverse, monopolistic type of cartel mentality. On the other hand you have a program like SMU which is basically trying to buy their way to relevance. I also understand why the grandfathered programs like Baylor and TCU want to keep things the way they are.

Looks more physical and like his athleticism has adapted to his size.

Who do you think has the best UNT tailgate setup?

Should be a great crowd and easy trip for OU.

Great news. Really interested to see what he weighs in at! -
DENTON - Day two of fall camp, presented by Rhino Steel Buildings, was filled with several big plays on both sides of the ball on an unseasonably cool and breezy Saturday morning. Prior to the kickoff of Mean Green Mania in Apogee Stadium, heavy rain pounded the area, slightly delaying practice. Once it cleared, however, the Mean Green held a high-energy practice on the second day of camp. While the offense was able to strike for a handful of big plays throughout the day, the defensive unit had some shining moments, highlighted by several pass break-ups and some forced turnovers during 1-on-1 and team periods.Key Moments: On the first play of 1-on-1 drills, junior corner Cam Johnson (Houston) had great coverage on his receiver, and then undercut him to come up with an interception. Senior receiver Michael Lawrence(Sweetwater, Texas) hauled in a difficult over-the-shoulder grab for a touchdown during the same period. South Carolina graduate transfer defensive back Nick Harvey (Lancaster, Texas) continued his strong start to camp with the Mean Green, maintaining great coverage on several occasions during both 1-on-1s and the team periods. Freshman corner DeShawn Gaddie (Arlington) made an impact, especially in team drills. On one occasion he was able to haul in an interception off of a tip and head the other way in a hurry. Additionally, he showcased his ability to swarm to the ball with a couple of pass break-ups, including a one-handed leaping play to deny a receiver over the middle of the field. Redshirt freshman receiver Austin Ogunmakin(Alief, Texas) made a nice catch on a well-executed back-shoulder throw by senior quarterback Mason Fine (Peggs, Oklahoma). Ogunmakin hauled in the touchdown despite good coverage by Harvey. Redshirt freshman defensive back Javier Neal(Whitehouse, Texas) was in coverage on a deep fade that looked like it was going to result in a touchdown, but Neal was able to dislodge the ball from the receiver as the players came to ground. Senior defensive end LaDarius Hamilton(Corrigan, Texas) was active on Saturday, and on one occasion burst into the backfield to pick up a tackle for loss on a running play. Cam Johnson broke up multiple passes on the day both in 1-on-1s and in the team periods. One in particular during 1-on-1s came on a goal line route over the middle. Johnson had tight coverage on redshirt sophomore Greg White (Riverdale, Georgia) and was able to get a hand on the ball to break it up. Defensive lineman Darrian McMillan (Mobile, Alabama) got some early penetration on a run play during the final team period to blow up the play and record a tackle-for-loss. Junior running back Evan Johnson (Loranger, Louisiana) had a big-gainer during the team period, cutting through to the left and making his way down the sideline. Fine dropped a 60-yard touchdown toss right into the waiting hands of junior receiver Jaelon Darden (Houston) on one of the most aesthetically pleasing throws of the day during team drills. Freshman Dorian Morris (Mesquite, Texas) was able to break up a deep pass on the final play of the first team period. To open the final team period, Fine hit senior receiver Rico Bussey, Jr. (Lawton, Oklahoma) in stride perfectly, and the playmaker accelerated quickly to take it to the house. Redshirt junior linebacker Joe Ozougwu (Alief, Texas), donning a new number (32) this season, applied pressure and got a hand on the ball to bat a pass attempt to the ground to force a third and long. Junior defensive lineman Dion Novil (Abilene) was also involved in the play and may have also gotten a hand on the pass. Later in the period, another batted ball resulted in an interception by senior safety Taylor Robinson (Fort Worth), who had a tremendous reaction to the tip, pinning the ball to his shoulder to force the turnover. The offense executed a screen play to perfection, as redshirt freshman quarterback Austin Aune (Argyle) allowed the play to develop in front of him before dumping off to freshman running back Oscar Adaway III(North Little Rock, Arkansas). Adaway then opened some eyes with a cut on a dime and quick acceleration downfield to break away from the defenders. Sophomore linebacker KD Davis (Ennis, Texas) filled the hole to bottle up a running back for no gain during the final team period. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Dayton LeBlanc (Breaux Bridge, Louisiana) and Ozougwu teamed up for a big tackle for loss on a run that was designed to the left. The Mean Green return to the practice field Sunday afternoon and will be wearing shells for the first time this fall.
