‘20 DL Nick Booker-Brown - Westfield HS (Houston)
Harry replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Same thought. We frankly shouldn't be. -
Now that they are closing down NY Sub 😥 anyone have suggestions for a good sandwich place for pre and or post game? My fallback stop would probably be Rudy's most of the time, but in the case you aren't wanting barbeque and would prefer cold cuts or something different. Please no Subway and preferably closer to UNT versus by TWU (too far).

My vote this year is going to be a little different. I am purchasing the future adoption rights to our great UNT commit Christian Lee. Yes I do know that he has his senior year left to play, and that he has not yet officially signed yet. That said, I think Christian will provide a lot of support for his future teammates both by his performance on the field and in person /social media. GMG!

2. North Texas (Sept. 7): SMU holds a massive 31-6-1 lead in this all-time series, but UNT has had two very convincing wins over the Mustangs since the series resumed five years ago -- a 37-point win in 2014 and a 23-point victory last fall in Denton. And last year's 46-23 win by North Texas wasn't even as close as the final score indicated -- the Mean Green actually led 36-0 after three quarters and SMU scored 23 fourth-quarter points to make the final score a little more respectable. 3. Will SMU's transfer portal reliance pay off? According to the 247Sports transfer portal database, SMU has brought in 16 transfers this offseason, most in the AAC. Houston (12) was the only other conference school to have double-digit transfers. Seventy-five percent of AAC schools brought in six or fewer transfers this offseason. While this is a great way to quickly improve the talent on SMU's roster, it's also a bit of a crapshoot when it comes to chemistry. Will new pieces fit well with old ones? Will players who were recruited out of high school feel slighted? read more: https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/collegesports/2019/08/19/smu-mustangs-season-preview-breakout-candidates-key-questions-projected-results

From the Houston Chronicle which is hugely good publicity for us in H-Town. read more: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texas-sports-nation/football/article/Football-2019-North-Texas-offense-could-be-14349332.php

UNTamed20 Midyear Commitment Update Part 1 (Offense)
Harry replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I salivate thinking of how this recruiting could go if we were able to keep Littrell and the assistants in place for a few more years. With the new IPF in place, the consistent winning seasons, plans for future expansion of the facilities the sky truly is the limit. Would love to see us become a Boise, UCF type of G5/P5 Hybrid that competes for Cotton Fiesta or Peach bowl G5 slot every single year. -
Sorry guys but the UAB deal last year really burned my britches. UAB had the deck stacked against us. Was not fair.

Info courtesy @GMG24 - this makes 16 grad transfers for SMU since last we visited with them in Apogee including Texas QB Shane Buchele who is eligible for our game...

In one of the most dangerous sections of the country that is prone to flooding during hurricanes. Every school has their weaknesses. Tulane was set back from the hurricane and flooding that occurred. I think the only difference with them now is Fritz is a damn good coach. He had a great season last year and it will be interesting to see if he can build on that.

Wow this guy is a great coach. Players love him. He looks like a natural. Coach Scott was a huge pickup. We have some athletes and some physical looking guys that can run at LB. It will be very hard to replace EJ in the 1st year but we have some damn good prospects for the future.

Tulane is killing it in recruiting. Made a great hire with Coach Fritz.

With the declining TV contract revenue we are seeing teams in conference USA revert back to more body bag games. Western Kentucky is the latest, announcing an away date @Georgia this morning.

The catch. Shout out to @GMG24 6E10E5F4-10B3-479A-B7BC-9936AA5D792C.3gp

This is a completely different team and roster. No way to handicap this team. Scary.

Good stuff. Welcome Jordan! You made a great choice. One thing that caught my eye, notice that even though Tulsa offered he was not interested in them. That is partly because their Coach Monty is likely not going to be there next year. My hope is that we continue to own Tulsa in recruiting. To get to where we want the program to be we just have to. Also, interesting to see Colorado State's name in Texas so much. Their head coach Miek Bobo is from Georgia. Their linebacker coach is from Eastern Kentucky. Here is a link to their staff: https://csurams.com/coaches.aspx?path=football I count 8 players from Texas on their roster... they went 3-9 last year? What is the attraction?

Another in a LONG line of examples of a DFW HS talent that leaves the state and it doesn't work out... ------------------------------------------- Memphis redshirt freshman quarterback Brady McBride confirmed Thursday that he had entered the NCAA transfer portal. McBride, who played in three games last season, was not at practice on Wednesday. He was expected to be the backup quarterback this season. McBride, who was 8-for-14 passing for 88 yards with an interception and ran for 31 yards last season, has four years of eligibility left. read more: https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/sports/college/memphis-tigers/2019/08/08/memphis-football-brady-mcbride-enter-ncaa-transfer-portal/1955754001/

To me this means that Wren Baker is looking for greener pastures and will not take an AD job unless it is P5 and a BIG increase in salary etc. He could have easily landed this job and Memphis pays more money.
