Mean Green Collective is Making a Difference

We are all so very proud tonight of our Mean Green ladies and their outstanding win to secure a coveted inaugural AAC Championship! Also, a huge shout out to Coach Jason Burton and his assistants who did a fantastic job coaching this team! Credit to AD Jared Mosley and his staff as well as they have provided a great support structure for this program. The future is so very bright! I am also proud of what we have been able to accomplish in about 5 whirlwind months with the Mean Green Collective. We have been able to donate $191K (cash not pledges) to both the men's and women's programs. We could not have done this without the support of so many of you and we appreciate every donor that stepped up to help us. 🙏 The future is extremely bright for Mean Green Basketball and we want to help support the teams in reaching their full potential both on and off the court. The road ahead does not get any easier for us as we will have other teams coming after our players and we need to raise more money to keep them here as well as attract others. If you would like to be a part, we could use your help. Please join us at MeanGreenCollective.com. Thank you again for your support and GO MEAN GREEN!

The Mean Green Collective is sponsoring a Mean Green Women’s basketball Meet and Greet on February 15, 2024, prior to and during the men’s game at 7pm against the Memphis Tigers at the Super Pit. The team will be available for autographs and photos throughout the game and will be recognized for their achievements at halftime of the game. The team will remain at the game for its duration and will mix and mingle with the fans. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. He was a long time supporter and member of GoMeanGreen.com and was at the San Antonio QB Club meeting where Coach Morris spoke earlier in the year. https://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/profile/35155-danish43/ His obituary can be found here: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/san-antonio-tx/alejandro-tijerina-11590308

Great job this weekend! -
A West Virginia judge has paved the way for college athletes to have more freedom in transferring schools. Judge John P. Bailey granted a 14-day temporary restraining order during a hearing in West Virginia district court on Wednesday, giving college athletes who have transferred more than once immediate eligibility at least for the next two weeks and potentially charting a course for more lawsuits from transfers seeking eligibility. The NCAA announced in a statement that it will follow the court’s ruling. “As a result of today’s decision impacting Division I student-athletes, the association will not enforce the year in residency requirement for multiple-time transfers and will begin notifying member schools,” the organization said. A preliminary injunction hearing is set for Dec. 27, when the judge is expected to make a more permanent ruling in the case. The ruling at least temporarily strikes down the NCAA’s policy around athletes transferring for a second time or more. Under current rules, athletes are allowed to transfer once and play immediately at their new school. However, those transferring again need a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately or must sit out a year in what’s called a “year-in-residence.” The judge’s ruling stops the NCAA from enforcing the year-in-residence for at least the next two weeks. https://sports.yahoo.com/judges-ruling-grants-all-ncaa-transfers-temporary-eligibility-paving-way-for-potential-permanent-change-193130982.html

***OFFICIAL UNT vs TULSA In-Game Discussion Thread***
Harry replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
This was a big win. We fought hard and took control in the second half. Still have work to do on defense but really pleased to see them take one on the road against Tulsa. GMG- 156 replies
