  3. Had this question in a PM and thought I would share. You can post them from your phone. Will be fun for the guys who can't make the game. Just click "Add Images" button on the top right.... http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/gallery/
  4. FAU holds Badgers to field goal deep near their goal line 24-14 Wisconsin. Solid half for FAU but depth will be tough for them in 2nd half.
  5. Moving on to the upcoming clash with North Texas, the Mustangs will try to build on a solid week one and improve to 2-0 against their cross-town rivals. Last year, SMU defeated the Mean Green at Apogee Stadium, 34-21. Notably from that game, Courtland Sutton had 162 yards and three touchdowns, tearing apart the UNT secondary. But this year, Head Coach Seth Littrell is looking to build on a successful first year just as Chad Morris has been building on the solid foundation that has been laid at SMU. The Mean Green laid waste to FCS opponent Lamar (side note: former SMU quarterback Darrel Colbert Jr. was Lamar’s signal caller) Saturday, 59-14, an eerily similar score to the 58-14 drubbing SMU put on SFA. The UNT offense looked very sharp, especially on the ground. Jeffrey Wilson ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns, Nic Smith and 101 yards, and Evan Johnson came up two yards short of giving UNT three players who rushed for at least 100 yards each. Quarterback Mason Fine completed more than 70 percent of his passes for three touchdowns. Fine is supported by a couple nice outside threats in Michael Lawrence and Jalen Guyton. One key for SMU will be the Mustangs’ front seven controlling the line of scrimmage and containing UNT’s explosive running backs. That likely will be the area where the game is won and lost: in the trenches. SMU needs huge games out of Justin Lawler, Dimarya Mixon, Kyran Mitchell and the rest of the front-line defenders. Van Malone will need to put pressure on Fine to force errant throws to the ball-hawking SMU secondary, a secondary that will capitalize on any mistake. read more: http://www.ponyfans.com/features/story.php?id=1116
  6. The University of North Texas System Board of Regents has selected Lesa Roe, Acting Deputy Administrator for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as its new Chancellor. Ms. Roe's formal selection was approved by the board on Sept. 8. View Full Article
  7. I upvoted you to offset the tomfoolery. Hope to see you there.
  8. Good thoughts. I think people are missing this. Davis always made things tough for us.
  9. North Texas at SMU When: 6 p.m. Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium Records: UNT (1-0); SMU (1-0) Last meeting: SMU beat UNT 34-21 on Sept. 3, 2016 TV: ESPN3 What's on the line? It's a rivalry game, so these two teams should expect a good energy in Ford Stadium on Saturday. SMU has been dominant in this series, winning 30 out of the 36 all-time meetings, including the two since Chad Morris took over the Mustangs. But both teams look much improved from last year. A win for either will give some credibility to their non-conference records, unlike the last couple of seasons. In the end, though, it comes down to bragging rights for alumni throughout the Metroplex, like any good rivalry game. read more: https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/smumustangs/2017/09/07/smu-prediction-can-mustangs-beat-unt-rivalry-shootout
  10. I want to have a commanding double digit lead and get the ball on their 1 yard-line in the waning seconds of the 4th quarter and show them mercy by taking a knee and running out the clock - WHICH THEY WOULD NEVER GRANT US IN ONE THOUSAND LIFETIMES BTW...
  11. I stole this from another guy in another thread but is Ben Hicks a bigger challenge for our defense than that fast as hell Matt Davis cat? Seems to me Hicks is a good QB but not near as mobile and dangerous as Davis was. Maybe I'm wrong. Just seems like Davis beat us with his wheels a lot. Hicks is more pro style.
  12. Nice job!
  13. Very odd timing. Makes you wonder what personal issues he had...
  14. I want what Mr. Vito's been smoking!!
  15. Thanks to Littrell for publicly acknowledging the importance of the SMU game for our program and our fans, alumni and students. Coach Mac never got this and I have to ding RV as well for allowing that to happen under his watch although I do believe RV understood the importance of it. Now I hope we will see a similar stance in the game against UTSA. For far too long we have been ignored and told after losing these games that they were no different than any other. There was a similar position taken with UTA in basketball and I hope that will change as well. GMG!
  16. It would b interesting to review RV's winning percentage by FB and BB over his tenure.

  19. "He's extremely accurate. He anticipates really well. When you watch him on video, you wouldn't think he was a sophomore," SMU head coach Chad Morris said. "This guy looks more comfortable and more confident. That's what you expect in a second-year player." https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/smumustangs/2017/09/06/smu-wants-see-young-defensive-secondary-grow-unt
  20. I hear you, but the problem is we just have never consistently won ball games. I am speaking more specifically to the modern era. Yes there have been blips on the radar screen like Darrell Dickeys run in the Sun Belt, Macs one good season... but we've had no signature wins. We dropped down to I-AA which was devestating, and then we didn't fund it when we brought it back in 1995 basically trying to use it as a cheap marketing tool. My point is we really don't know what the potential for our fanbase is because we have never produced a program consistently worthy of support. people want to support a winner. Why do you think there are so many damn Cowboy fans? thankfully the admin etc finally gets it and we seem to be doing the right things necessary to build our program success and hopefully fan/alumni support going forward can be developed.
  21. Could he become the best we ever had in our history?
