  1. UTEP is making a change at tailback, as Quardraiz Wadley injured his clavicle and Joshua Fields, who went into Middle Tennessee as the No. 3 tailback, ended up rushing for 87 yards. "Josh Fields is the guy now," Price said. "I was very pleased with him. He's only a freshman. He has a long career ahead of him." As for what is immediately ahead, that's a North Texas team that leads the Conference USA West, just two years removed from a 1-11 season. More: Three things that went right for UTEP "They made a coaching change. They are off and running the newest offense available," Price said of the Mean Green's rise. "They got out and recruited the Dallas area very hard. They've done a nice job recruiting. They recruited skill people to that passing offense." That's what UTEP faces Saturday in Denton. read more: http://www.elpasotimes.com/story/sports/college/utep/2017/11/06/utep-football-price-this-more-complicated-than-thought/837301001/

  6. Sounds from your explanation like it benefits UNT quite a bit-- so like I stated, I am in! My question to you is, why in the heck would UNT be considering cutting such a valuable program? Something isn't adding up. Not trying to sound skeptical, just trying to understand. If the program adds value shouldn't UNT make up the loss in state funding? Seems like a no-brainer to me.
  7. Great info. Love the concept of the program but my main concern is does it ultimately benefit UNT? It seems to me if a student attends TAMS and goes to Princeton/UT/Texas A&M or where ever when they graduate they end up repping and supporting their chosen undergrad school. If not it needs to be restructured to where it does benefit UNT in some way or needs to re-evaluated. Like you said there are plenty of schools with more cash that could probably afford the luxury of having an elite college pass through program. If a good number of these students are attending UNT it is a different story. It impresses me that we are taking a long look at all of our assets and hope they are willing to make tough decisions when needed.
  8. Friday can’t come quickly enough for the Longhorns. Fresh off of a disappointing first-round loss at the hands of Baylor in the Big 12 Championship, the Longhorns are eager for redemption heading into the NCAA Tournament. Monday’s televised draw saw North Texas selected as the Longhorns’ home opponent. The matchup marks Texas’ first postseason appearance since 2014. “Big 12 (play) didn’t go as planned,” freshman forward Haley Berg said. “But we’ve looked over it, we’ve talked as a team and with our coaches, we know what happened and we know what we need to do to get back to our fighting mentality.” The two programs met earlier this year in a preseason contest. Texas dominated possession, outshooting the Mean Green 21-7, but it took a last-minute goal by sophomore Cyera Hintzen to put the team away, and the Longhorns edged by 1-0 on the road. 9. I got this thought from a fan I correspond with and I agree -- With 9 games in -- it is probably time to move away from getting English on the field this season. Let him rehab fully and come back in the spring. Even if he has to burn a year wouldn't it be better for the long term to keep him out of contact? Thoughts?
  10. Miners hope to set aside a ‘rough weekend’ as they go against UNT. At 0-9, there’s not much left to resurrect from the Miners’ crucifixion of a season. Here’s a stat for the books: UTEP is one of just two winless teams in all of FBS. The only other team is Georgia Southern, the Sun Belt-affiliated team that actually has been in arms’ reach with their league opponents, giving them some hope at a win down the line. UTEP’s chances at a win, on the other hand, look slim as the team takes on North Texas (6-3) this Saturday, then LA Tech (4-5) at home and UAB (6-3) to close off the year. “Not a happy camper right now. Not going like we thought it would be,” interim head coach Mike Price said. read more: https://www.theprospectordaily.com/2017/11/06/miners-stay-on-road-against-unt/

  12. If we are fortunate enough to win - I wonder if the coaches will take revenge on UTEP for how they treated us last time. Many felt like they ran up the score in a game they already had won.
  13. Tough draw for sure. Still great opportunity.
  14. I'm sort of warming up to New Mexico.

  16. Interesting to consider this fantasy matchup. 2013 had the better D but 2017 O has put up huge numbers. 2013 did not get to the championship game but was damn close. 2013 has more seniors and vets. 2017 had better skill positions. Two of the best in modern history, perhaps all of our history.
  17. Just looking back at it - may have been one of the best placed balls all season and Fine has hadn’t one good ones. We just come to expect stuff like that from Fine is my thought.
  18. Fine’s TD pass to Bussey was in a word amazing! Fine is a true sophomore. Can’t help but be excited about the future of the program with him at the helm. GMG
  19. Let’s try to keep things on topic. Thx.
  20. I thought it was pretty solid. I liked the color guy who seemed knowledgeable and the broadcast team seemed pretty solid. It didn’t feel homer at all to me. The stream was crystal clear and not choppy at all like some I have seen before. I’d give it an 8 out of 10. Hope we get some more of these.
  21. I hear you but I also thought Holtz made some bad mistakes that led to the loss for La. Tech. For instance they went for field goals a lot when I felt like they could have gotten TD’s because our defense was gassed.
