  1. WHO TO WATCH UNT Smart. One of the top 100 junior college players in the nation last season, Smart averaged 18.8 points per game at New Mexico Junior College before transferring to North Texas and scoring 23 on 8-of-10 shooting in his debut. NEBRASKA (1-0) Players to watch G Glynn Watson; 6-0; Jr.; 21.0; 1. C Jordy Tshimanga; 6-11; So.; 2.0; 11.0 WHO TO WATCH Nebraska Watson. Up to his old tricks against Eastern Illinois, hitting clutch shots and big free throws down the stretch to keep the Huskers above water. And Husker coach Tim Miles thinks he can be even better. read more:http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/fast-break-points-north-texas-at-nebraska/article_d3f1f8c8-c0ce-58d1-b54a-6cf75d4b7907.html
  2. We have a bunch of new visitors checking out the site for the first time. Welcome aboard and Go Mean Green!
  3. I really like this optimistic tone from Brett Vito.
  4. Kansas and coach David Beaty have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2021 season. The new incentive-laden agreement increases Beaty's salary from $800,000 to $1.6 million in 2017, with $100,000 increases every year.Dec 12, 2016 Seems to me to secure Littrell for another year we have to figure out a way to get his compensation close to what a lower level p5 Kansas type of school will pay. Also tie in a “if you stay here for 2-3 years we will vest you in a 1 million dollar retirement account” etc etc. he needs to know he can make close to p5 money and have more security AND that he won’t have to reload his assistant pool every damn year.
  5. Feel bad for Coach Chico as he will likely lose his job there as well. If you are right and he lands at UTEP we may be playing against Chico in C-USA.
  6. Wow there are a LOT this year. This article thinks Texas A&M, UCLA, Texas Tech, Louisville, Nebraska, Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, and Kansas will all be open. http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/mac-engel/article183571526.html
  7. It would be a bowl rematch as we played them at New Orleans Bowl back when we were in the Belt.
  8. Great seeing you back on here brother. Hope all is well. GMG
  9. No Aggy job for u sir.
  10. Really did not mean for my comments to be taken personally by you.. if you took it that way my apologies.
  11. Why does it have to be accepted that if we hire a good coach and we provide an ecosystem that allows him to be successful we HAVE to realize that he will leave? That’s the OLD DENTON mentality we need to change my friend. Look at my other posts — it does not have to be a GIVEN that he leaves... we could put together a proactive plan to keep him or we could just bow our head down and accept that “well we are North Texas and we can’t expect or do better than this...”. love you grand and I️ mean no disrespect but dammit we have to get out of that mindset or we will be spinning our wheels for decades. Have you looked at our track record on Coaching hires? When we get a keeper we need to keep him! Enough said. GMG!
  12. Can we get a final plueeeze is the wicked witch of the east dead yet dammit?
  13. 24-24 1:58 left in game. bammer missed a show infield goal with 1:30 left.
  14. Can we enjoy the win for 24 hours pluueeeze?
  15. I’m so happy right now!!
  16. 38-10 North Texas over Texas University in El Paso. 9:06 left in 4th Quarter..
  17. This theme Mike created.” Get Off the Hill and Into the Game” should matched up to this tune:
  18. http://www.espn.com/college-football/scoreboard/_/group/12/year/2017/seasontype/2/week/11 I don't see one upset in any of these games. Anyone disagree and which one?
  19. This program is not devoid of talent. Woolridge is a legit PG and AJ is one of the better players in the conference. He certainly left something behind to build around.
  20. It was a great episode. Liked the emphasis on how winning has a positive impact on recruiting. Just makes you feel how important recruiting is to this staff. Didn’t always feel it was as high of a priority under Mac. I️ also liked the increasing focus on graphics, social media and imagery. Again, not something that was a priority in the past regime. the whole #NewDenton thing is kind of a mixed bag for me. I give them an A for picking a slogan and sticking with it. I think they know they don’t want to alienate the “Old” Denton faction as they make that clear in the show. My concern is if you think it could alienate why not go with something else? Can you be “New” and yet still embrace the past? It’s a difficult message to simplify. However, when you think about their focus on recruiting it does make sense that they have to overcome the past history and in that case it really works. UTSA likely tell common recruiting targets that their ceiling is much higher and that they have been doing this for a much shorter time than UNT using our long history of football against us. #NewDenton sort of rebrands us and says we are not the same program we were in the past. It’s like a fresh start under this regime and in that particular regard it works. Gmg
