  1. Morris is getting serious looks at Tennessee... if he leaves it would not shock me to see them go after Seth. UNT (9-3): Too high for Seth Littrell? Maybe if you aren’t paying attention. Littrell will be on a lot of short lists this time next year, just watch. In year one at a moribund program he got the Mean Green to a bowl game. In year two he has them playing for a conference title. An off-shoot of the Mike Leach coaching tree, Littrell had success at Kansas (no, seriously, Kansas used to be respectable), Tech, Arizona, and UNC before heading to Denton. With an athletic department firmly in his corner and plenty of untapped resources, he has North Texas heading in the right direction in a hurry. I would absolutely take him over the guys below, I mean, he has UNT primed for a ten win season just two years after going 1-11. Though Scott Frost gets all the love, and deservedly so, what Littrell has done is almost as impressive. It will be interesting to see what happens next for Littrell... if Morris ends up at A&M, he would be a perfect fit at SMU. read more: https://www.frogsowar.com/2017/11/28/16708290/state-of-texas-power-rankings-which-coach-would-you-want-the-most-edition

  3. BOCA RATON North Texas head coach Seth Littrell knows firsthand the challenges that come with turning a dismal program around. Two years after inheriting an 11-1 program, Littrell’s Mean Green (9-3, 7-1) prepare to take on the Florida Atlantic Owls (9-3, 8-0) in Saturday’s Conference USA title game. Speaking to the media in a teleconference call on Tuesday, the third-year coach expressed his respect for the job FAU coach Lane Kiffin has done. “I think he’s done an unbelievable job,” Littrell said of Kiffin. “It’s a challenge getting somewhere, building relationships, setting your culture, having your guys buy into it. … It’s a great challenge.” Kiffin and Littrell faced off on Oct. 21, a 69-31 FAU win where the Owls recorded more than 800 yards of total offense. FAU players admitted after the win to being motivated by Littrell commenting that the Owls shouldn’t have scheduled the Mean Green for their homecoming game. read more: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/college-football/north-texas-coach-seth-littrell-praises-lane-kiffin-quick-fix-fau/NMHlUS5ew3a1y5VeA518xJ/
  4. Not going to lie, going back to New Orleans would be a blast. A lot of fond UNT memories we have had there.
  5. I hear you but Why do the prognosticators seem to miss this fact in their projections?
  6. BOCA RATON For the first time since 2008, Florida Atlantic is preparing for postseason play. Though FAU (9-3, 8-0) clinched bowl eligibility on Nov. 3 and a spot in the Conference USA championship game earlier this month, the Owls are now officially getting ready for their first postseason game since a 24-21 win in Detroit over Central Michigan on Dec. 26, 2008 in the Motor City Bowl. FAU completed the fourth 8-0 season in C-USA history with last Saturday’s 31-12 win over Charlotte. Saturday’s C-USA title game pits FAU against North Texas (9-3, 7-1), a team the Owls beat 69-31 on Oct. 21. “I feel like we’ve done a lot, we’ve accomplished a lot,” FAU linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair said. “We’re not where we want to be, but looking back, we’ve done a lot of progress in the summer and even in December when the coaches first got here.” As the Sun Belt conference — FAU’s home from 2004-12 — does not have a championship game, the Owls will be playing in their first FBS title game. Here are some of the key details FAU fans need to know prior to Saturday’s C-USA title game. read more: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/college-football/after-perfect-conference-usa-season-fau-set-for-first-title-game/udHM8yHEcVglqquUBp61KL/

  8. Come on Joe, you don't mean that... you're too good of a fan. Of course there would be disappointment but we still have to support this team. Keep in mind, we would get similar responses from Tech fans upon learning they would be playing us as well.
  9. Wow, I just may have a new favorite bowl scenario... K-State would bring a TON of fans to this game...BTW this was updated just tonight. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/news/college-football-bowl-predictions-week-14-auburn-clemson-oklahoma-wisconsin-alabama-ohio-state/74aojjwfjgr61ue3lwvh12e2k
  10. I think @untjim1995 is right that it is very possible Texas and Tech could decide they don't want the risk of playing us. Texas is in a weird spot as they somehow managed to lose the game against Tech and their postgame presser with Herman was a morbid as I have ever seen him. Tech wasn't even supposed to go to a bowl and be eligible. So it's a weird situation for sure. I hope that both of them won't look at playing us as a negative but we need to be prepared as that could happen.
  11. It's truly shocking how few players we have on this list given our overall program success. I think we had more in 2013 as I recall.
  12. Was hoping we would have a receiver on there like Guyton or Bussey but overall I agree a pretty accurate listing.
  13. Doug Meachum being mentioned as a possible replacement.
  14. Great post. I see no issue with discussing the scenarios as they play out. Of course we’d love to keep him and have a Patterson scenario as you describe but that is not realistic anymore. I am just thrilled to have a coach that others recognize and desire. The last one we had was Jonny. In football we haven’t had a HC anyone wanted at least in the modern era to my knowledge. The last coach I believe that went on to better things was Jerry Moore who became the HC at Texas Tech.
  15. Amen!
  16. They seem to be set on Jumbo Fisher.
  17. jdaggie2112 3:39p V Since everyone is throwing out names, lol Not a big enough name, BUT remember that name. Due to son, thus my money, going to UNT I went to 6 or 7 UNT ganes the last 2 years and that guy is doing an amazing job. If Texas Tech would have been smart, they would have canned Kliff and grabbed Littrell. A future star in the making in my opinion read more: https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/2909707
  18. HOD vs. Tech Would be AMAZING!
