  1. This sounds like good news to me. Glad to see them revamping the recruiting efforts. There is no reason why we should not be near the top of C-USA every year in recruiting when you look at our location and facilities.
  2. Why did Lawson foul? ugh.... make em take a damn shot at least don't send them to the line....
  3. Lawson can't buy a bucket. Needs to stop shooting.
  4. La. Tech looking to close it out -- up 8. 36-28 largest lead of the game. 17:14 in 2nd
  5. I love Draper but he can be a liability on defense at times.
  6. Draper with the sweet three! UNT back in it.
  7. 1-10? Not good... La. Tech pulling away 21-16
  8. This stadium broadcast is super nice.
  9. You are absolutely right about the Vets. I will say that they are making some improvements there lately which is encouraging -- but still a very long way to go.
  10. Well that is interesting. He was a damn good player. Big shoes to fill but Kiffin has shown he can get that filled pretty quick. Also Motor Singletary will be back and we all know what he's capable of.
  11. I have heard good things about LB Chris Thornton. Also have high hopes for Parrish but he may be another year away.
  12. Yeah I left some of the guys in that played a small amount and pulled the guys like Jaelon that played a lot.
  13. My thoughts go out to his family and friends/teammates. Such a tragedy. The saddest thing is that people will make nice thoughtful and sincere statements, and post the suicide hotline number etc but in reality it will be swept under the rug in a couple of days. Not enough is done to try to keep this from happening. We go back to the grind and system of expectations that not every member of our society is wired to deal with. In the same regard, we as a society are not wired with how to deal with the aftermath of suicide. This kid had the world at his fingertips and something shifted. Doctors say it is a medical issue, that cells can no longer process as they should and the pain becomes unbearable. Yet it is still labeled as a selfish way to go out and there is a stigma left behind. I am realistic that this phenomenon will never go away, it's been around for centuries, but I wish that our society would place more emphasis on mental health and treatment. I think our proliferation of subscribing meds to solve problems is a big issue here. I wish we could teach more about the warning signs and provide people with tangible ways to prevent this from happening. We will never eradicate it completely, but we could certainly try to make an impact and lower the amount of suicides in the future.
  14. Yeah good point but I figured we should keep them in if they didn't play a lot of downs... I pulled the biggest contributors ie Jaelon etc..
  15. Wren Baker vowed better times were on the way when he took over as North Texas' athletic director in summer 2016. Those times certainly appeared to arrive during the fall sports season that will go down as one of the best in program history. Those few months kicked off Baker's second year at the school. The UNT football team won the Conference USA West Division title and played in the New Orleans Bowl. And that was only one milestone school officials see as an indication of how far the program has come in a short time. UNT won the C-USA tournament in women's soccer and the regular season title in volleyball. The school also broke ground on a new facility for its soccer and track programs. "I am proud of our student-athletes, coaches and staff," Baker said. "This fall was certainly one to celebrate and be proud of. I'm also grateful for our alumni and fans, as well as the community, for supporting and embracing our student-athletes. Together, we are building a program that excels academically and athletically." read more: http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/mean-green/2018/01/16/unt-cites-fall-success-sign-baker-delivering-promise-elevate-programs

  17. AT least we kept it fairly close. We don't see the blowouts we saw last year.
  18. Isn’t the plan to tear down Fouts and turn it into a big parking garage.

  20. No doubt it is a big issue. I wonder where we compare to UTA, UTD, Texas State, Sam Houston etc... We came a long way but still have a ways to go. The more that we have living on campus the better. I think you have to factor apartments that are nearby into the mix. It seems like every school leans on those especially for upperclassmen. You wants as much of your freshman class to live in dorms on campus. My guess is that the percentages that do that are typically more indoctrinated into traditions, sports, just overall school activities and spirit.
