  1. I have always argued this gives the private schools an advantage. Their sticker price is higher than the public schools.
  2. Dangit! They have 8 at his position and we only have 5. Need to play the playing time card if not too late.
  3. A former Texas Christian University wide receiver filed a lawsuit against the school and the Big 12 Conference, citing a pattern of abuse and harassment, according to a published report Thursday. Kolby Listenbee, who was hurt during his senior season in 2015, alleged that Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson and members of his staff "continuously pressured, humiliated, and harassed" him to return from the injury, the Star-Telegram of Fort Worth reported. A sixth-round draft choice of the Buffalo Bills in 2016, Listenbee claimed the harassment began shortly after his injury was diagnosed. In the suit, he said coaches wanted him back on the field quickly due to "their quest for a national football championship." Read more: https://a.msn.com/r/2/BBIAtb8?m=en-us

  8. That's a very legitimate idea although, I think the Joe Greene statue needs to be first. We really, really need to get the Joe Greene recognition done soon. He's the greatest player we have ever had and an NFL Hall of Famer.
  9. Agree on the name thing. Can they perhaps reconsider this decision?
  10. I don't know either but I am guessing since G-5's have to take some chances especially on the lines, you have to field a few more just to cover your bases. Just speculation on my part. The coaches we have on here could offer more color to this.
  11. Good point. The last best HS player we pulled from Fla? I'm thinking maybe linebacker Shawn Early? Would be nice to get some more good ones from there.
  12. Brewster is a different animal -- he is known as one of the best recruiters in the country and I would categorize him more as a national recruiter although he did coach in Texas under Mack Brown and I believe he was the guy responsible for recruiting Vince Young. SO it may have been a long time since he was coaching in the state of Texas but he has been recruiting here for other big programs like Florida State etc. In fact last year he helped FSU land Dontavious Jackson (4-star from Alief Elsik) and a couple years back Mavin Saunders (4-star Houston Kinkaide) from Texas.
  13. I hear you, but some southern schools more than others. I just looked at the Kentucky roster and was surprised to see they didn't have one single player from Texas listed. http://ukathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=football
  14. Valid take. So you see no advantage for a guy organizing etc to have knowledge of the Texas football landscape? Has he no interaction with HS coaches where a knowledge of Texas would be helpful to us? Not doubting you just interested. I will say this, I like he is coming from an SEC school. He has seen things working at the highest level of college football and could be valuable in that particular regard alone.
  15. Good question but understand an offer could be offered at one point and later been rescinded. This happens a lot with g5 schools as they do not update as much.
  16. Yes it has worked in our favor as well lol! Kevin Moore the RB that was committed to Houston comes to my mind and Tillman Johnson who was a SWT commit to name a few. This QB I was speaking to did it on signing day though which stings. I would be whispering in his ear, "Ruston or Denton/DFW?"
  17. You are kidding but believe me in years past we would have commits change their minds at the last minute. I actually remember a QB that we had La Tech got to change his mind on signing day. That was early in the Dickey regime but I still remember it because it stung!
  18. Figures. Wonder if it is A$M? Whomever gets him will have a key pipeline!
  19. No idea - but the timing is interesting.
