Solid post @AustinFromUNT Lookit - the recruiting services cannot measure heart, desire. They mainly consider measurables first and to a lesser extent production. Yes development after they get here is a key and I think this staff does a decent job on that. I would only add that the rating for the 2-3 star players is less accurate due to the sheer numbers. Also you have to account for late bloomers that mature as players in their senior seasons. The big schools are mainly evaluating guys in the sophomore and junior seasons. The big camps do that as well. The issue most have is not how we look in regards to stars and ratings but how we measure up to our peers in C-USA. I look at offers. That gives you a better idea of if we are getting guys that we were going to get or if we are pushing the envelope upward.

There are a lot to choose from but I think I am going with big Tim Faison @Im_Tht_Dude40. Watching his film, he really has good technique and will lay the wood, something I feel the defense has been missing somewhat as of late. Good speed to the sidelines and good instincts. I think he could be an immediate starter/impact player that improves the defense.

Storylines for C-USA heading into national signing day

You just can't stand still in C-USA anymore. Every program seems to be on the up swing and it's not only recruiting, it's facilities. There is an arms race going on in C-USA and we can't rest on our Apogee laurels much longer. One example of the latest arms race is FAU who already has a nice new stadium to work with and now is building a state of the art athletic complex. -
I was surprised they only signed 2 wide receivers. Seems like in this offense you could get away with signing 3-4 every year.

The focus on this is on actual signees. We can certainly address blue shirts and PWO’s as well.

Interesting that this article indicates Brown was set to visit Texas but they ran out of space for him. Looks like his recruiting really picked up over the last month.
