I was there and would make this comment about Meager, he looked good. He has really filled out and put on some strength and size. He's not the scrawny kid running for his life from a couple of years ago. I couldn't help but think about how the past regime had so poorly handled his maturation into the program, how he was fed to the wolves. He's a junior now and I think he may surprise some people this Fall - I really do.

Censorship Stinks - Topics Being Deleted Is Wrong
Harry replied to GreenBlooded1's topic in Mean Green Football
Greenblooded no offense was meant buddy. We appreciate very much that you provided the post on the uni's - problem is the AD is really trying to promote their event and we want to work with them on that since it benefits the program as a whole. Please repost everything after Saturday and we will leave it alone. Sorry bout that and appreciate your contributions here on the board. -

http://meangreen.beloblog.com/ Steve Hammond sent me an e-mail today inquiring about the whereabouts of former North Texas quarterback Scott Hall. I talked to Scott a few days ago for our on-going series about Fouts Field's history and the possibility of the school replacing the stadium. By the way, the last part of the series will be in tomorrow's paper. While I was at it, I asked Scott what he was up to these days. Scott is -- get this -- a lumber trader. He helps broker deals for a company in South Texas. Scott said he thought about getting into the coaching profession, but thought better of it after his career started to take off. When I talked to Scott, he had just gotten back from his honeymoon. He mentioned that he planed to have kids someday and that might be his path back into football. Maybe UNT will have another quarterback on the way someday. It is interesting that Hall's name came up on the day UNT announced its latest Hall of Fame class. Scott should be a shoe-in for a spot in the Hall soon after he becomes eligible.

George we don't always agree but I consider you to be one of the most passionate, knowledgable and loyal Mean Green Fans in the history of this program. This is a special day for all Mean Green Fans because you are a great example of what a true supporter and fan should be at North Texas. You have been there through thick and thin for the Mean Green and I know all true Mean Green Fans out there share my gratitude. You have set the bar high my friend. In a way, George is responsible for what is now evolved into GOMEANGREEN.COM as his expert commentary shared on the old AOL message boards back in the day helped feed my fire and ultimately inspired me to start this website. Happy Birthday to one of our Very Best! GMG!

Aggies report: Inside slant http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/teams/report/UTST The defense was dominant during spring drills. That's to be expected, with the Aggies returning all 11 starters and six other players who started at least three games from last year's 1-11 team. The group is a year older and coach Brent Guy hopes that experience lends itself to a better performance in 2007. Darrell Dickey was brought in as the new offensive coordinator to get the Aggies' offense, which lost its top quarterback, Riley Nelson, and top running back, Marcus Cross, in gear. "I'm very pleased with the attitude and ability of the kids we have here," Dickey said. "We have made some progress in the first two weeks. We still have a long ways to go, but I'm encouraged so far about our overall team and especially with the offense." With Dickey running the offense, one would expect the Aggies to be a bit more wide open. Dickey isn't tipping his hand, choosing first to identify his best personnel before printing the playbook in ink. Copyright © 2007 The Sports Xchange. All Rights Reserved.

http://meangreen.beloblog.com/ UNT lands another Caddo Mills wide receiver Desmond Brigham (6-2, 180) said Wednesday that he has orally committed to North Texas. Brigham caught 42 passes for 742 yards and seven touchdowns last season when he was named first-team All-District 12-2A. Brigham said he chose UNT over offers from Arkansas, Iowa State, Missouri and Louisiana-Monroe. Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day a recruit in the class of 2008 can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 6.

You mean to tell me that there wasn't an alum from the DFW area or at least Texas who was not qualified for this gig? Not saying the guy isn't qualified but this would seem to be a position that an alum/graduate would be better suited to fill?
-
Not meanaing to be a negative Ned but I really think SMU will be good this year. Add to that, Bennett just cannot lose this game. I mean if he loses this game two years in a row it would probably mean he loses his job unless he won CUSA and got them to a bowl. This is the best on paper team SMU has had post death penalty in my opinion.

You can artificially create a bubble in which these student athletes can prosper. Just ask TCU. My point is money can cure a lot of issues.

Sorry - Dunbar is a RB signee that won't be here till 08. I was counting my chickens.

Personally I didn't see enough out of Cam Montgomery to give a fair evaluation. Questions as whether Evan will be back. Could Mosley see time as a frosh...probably a stretch. What about Deavin Cox? What about Dunbar? We all know that J-Mo hasn't played a healthy season since he's been here. I just wonder if the depth behind him is going to be sufficient. I would feel better if a James Mitchell type was still around.
