How Impressed Are You At The Roster Littrell Has Built?
Harry replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't think anyone doubts the effort, but the concern is were they able to get it done? Is this on paper a better defense than last season? I think that's at least questionable. And I hate to say that because I really think the offense is going to be one of the best we have had. -

I think people underestimate what a great player Josh Wheeler was. Yes he had injuries but when he was on the field he elevated the level of performance for the entire defense. I think we added some pieces but we did not replace Wheeler. -
DRC: UNT's post-spring depth chart -- story and the full listing
Harry replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes but looking at the two deep itbis hard not to wonder his status and their expectations of him. If he’s healthy and can contribute it would be a big boost to the team depth. -
DRC: UNT in process of negotiating extension with Smatresk
Harry replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Pohl was good initially but siding with the crooked provost spelled his doom. The faculty basically ran Pohl out of town as I recall. Would you not agree Neal holds pretty strong faculty and admin support? -

Here’s the sad truth, Baylor did benefit immensely from Briles and his sordid ways. Beyond their performance in the field, in the Briles era they funded and built a new stadium, had their first Heisman trophy winner, increased donations to historic levels and won more games than at any time in their history. We now learn Briles was paid millions even after his crimes came to light. So who really lost here? The victims are all accepting settlements to stay quiet going forward. There have been a lot of empty threats from the NCAA and Big 12. The assistants like baby Briles have been welcomed back into the coaching community as if nothing happened. Ken Starr is on TV as the expert on impeachment proceedings and not one Network brings up his Baylor issues. Just like the Dave Bliss deal, time will erase the memory of this dark chapter and Baylor will be just fine thank you very much.

March 30, 2018 DENTON - The ballot for the 2018 North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame class has been set, and voting will begin on April 1. Voting for the Hall of Fame is exclusively for dues-paying members of the North Texas Letterwinners Association, members of the North Texas Hall of Fame, and members of the North Texas Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Qualified voters may vote for a maximum of six nominees, and each qualified voter may submit only one ballot. This is the first year for voting by members of the NTLA or by members of the Hall of Fame. Previously, the selection was made by the North Texas Hall of Fame Selection Committee, which is made up of 10 individuals with strong ties to UNT (including multiple Hall of Fame members) who have been designated by the athletic department. The Committee, after considering all nominees submitted by NTLA members and Mean Green fans, set the ballot for this year's Hall of Fame voting. Voting will be conducted online or by paper ballot, and will conclude on April 15. The online ballot and the printable ballot will be on the Letterwinners Association's website, MeanGreenForLife.com beginning Sunday, April 1. 2018 North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame Nominees Alysha Adams (track and field, 2008-2011) Marcus Camper (football, 1985-88) Mallory Cantler (softball, 2008-2011) Melvin Davis (men's basketball, 1975-78) Casey Fitzgerald (football, 2005-08) Amber Jackson (women's basketball, 2006-09) Johnny Mata (football, 1966-67) James Russell (football, 1965-67) Gwynn Samuel (tennis, 1979-82) Quincy Williams (men's basketball, 2005-08)

Yes Lehigh! Thank u.

Hope McCarthy is ok. Funny — your post got me to thinking. At the game last night I commented how much more athletic we were and how they looked like an old school Naismith type of throwback squad. They certainly have more height but we can out jump them. It’s one of the more interesting matchups I’ve seen in awhile. They sort of remind me of an ivy type team we played in the Pit under Benford, can’t recall their name... they had brown jerseys.

San Antonio will host the men's college Final Four this weekend, wrapping up a basketball tournament that will make hundreds of millions of dollars for the NCAA and its member schools. To mark the occasion, The Texas Tribune reviewed the NCAA financial reports for the state's eight major college athletics programs. Those schools are the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at El Paso, the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas State University and the University of Houston — all of which play in the top-level Football Bowl Subdivision. Most of them failed once again to generate a profit. Below are some other details that grabbed our attention. Note, however, that these stats are for the 2016-17 sports year. Data for this season won’t be available until 2019. read more: https://www.texastribune.org/2018/03/29/ut-austin-once-again-revenue-king-texas-sports-basketball-success-give/
