  1. Is this the guy? Hope we can land him.
  2. FAU’s stadium has a beautiful backdrop and location near the beach. I do not think the stadium itself is physically better than ours.
  3. Would love to see them land a physical imposed type that could help with rebounding and defense. Think of a more athletic version of what Fuller was supposed to be.
  4. Sounds like an awesome pickup. Love this staff!
  5. I know Arky will be tough especially with SEC refs on the road, however FAU is our toughest, most fearsome opponent on the 2018 schedule. Arky is in rebuild moving from a pro to wide open. Will take them a couple years to get the right players. FAU is just reloading and will have one of the best running backs in the nation. FAU is already a top 25 caliber team (received 32 votes at end of last season) and could make a major run in 2018. They have OU and Boston College but other than that they will be favored in every single other game.
  6. Sorry to lose him. Hate to lose to Wyoming.
  7. The Denton Record-Chronicle has been honored for producing one of the best sports special sections for newspapers of its size nationally in the annual Associated Press Sports Editors contest for work produced in 2017. http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/mean-green/2018/04/16/denton-record-chronicle-vito-gamel-honored-apse http://www.dentonrc.com/news/denton/2018/04/15/record-chronicle-earns-16-awards-2017-coverage Congrats to Brett and the DRC!
  8. This is a big setback for Jalie. No reason to sugarcoat it.
  9. The four-year-old UNT Dallas College of Law is about to get a new dean. Felecia Epps comes from Florida A&M University, which faced similar challenges with getting its would-be lawyers to pass the bar exam. Last year, a little more than half of the first-time test takers from FAMU passed. UNT Dallas had a 59 percent pass rate, the lowest for a Texas law school. Epps, who's replacing retiring dean Royal Furgeson, will also have to focus on getting UNT Dallas fully accredited with the American Bar Association. For now, the law school has provisional accreditation. In our Friday Conversation, Epps talked to KERA's Rick Holter about how similar issues were handled at her old university — and why she was dismissed. On improving bar exam test scores: You really have to have an approach that starts to work with the students before they begin law school, where you're really driving home to them the seriousness of what they're about to do, starting to work with them on legal analysis, reading comprehension skills. And those things are currently being worked on. Then you provide them with some top-notch, intensive bar preparation programs. On why accreditation can be tough for schools to obtain: The [American Bar Association] wants to be very careful to be sure law schools are providing students what they need to succeed in law school and pass the bar. Their interest is understandable because the students invest quite a bit, not just in finances, but also in terms of time and effort. So you want to make sure they're getting everything they need in school so they can succeed in the practice of law. read more: http://keranews.org/post/unt-dallas-college-laws-felecia-epps-raising-test-scores-revamping-law-school
  10. @Cooley thoughts on the losses? What would you do if we indeed have 3 spots to give and considering the russian, Gipson and the Ark st transfer should be in the mix. 3 is a lot more spots than we thought we would be working with.
  11. Sounds like a good pickup for Jalie. Who knows if things don’t work out at Aggy we can get her bro.
  12. They seem to be trending upward, offering a higher caliber of player and making significant upgrades in coaching and facilities. They just landed the top FCS rusher Josh Mack although he will not be eligible this year. CJ Yarbrough a 3-star athlete picked them over Virginia according to this article.
  13. I suspect Liberty will be a lot tougher than people think.
  14. This one hurts. He played injured all year. Classy kid.
  15. Makes sense. Wish him well. Would be interesting to know how many spots Mac has left to give now. 2?
  16. Dales daughter did go to UNT and he is usually quite supportive of us. He also has pounded SMU over the years and lately Baylor.
  17. I think you are very correct. I would be thrilled if we could keep him a couple more years. Every year we have this staff the better our program will become.
  18. Wow tough break for the kid.
  19. Wardly - as usual you make some valid points...however How about considering the fact the dog food mostly tasted like crap for 10-years? I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom, I truly do — but seems to me your analogies always leave this important factor out. You have to consistently win to build support. In reality, prior to the last couple of years, we had one winning season in football for about a decade (2013)?
  20. Not sure about this — but someone on here earlier had posted he had earned an academic scholarship and thus was not required to take up an athletic one.
