  2. 21. Mason Fine, Jr. North Texas A smallish, fun baller, he'll be at the helm of one of college football's most dangerous offenses, coming off a 4,052-yard, 31-score season. Get ready for him to bomb away and push for a 40-touchdown pass campaign for the electrifying attack. read more: https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAzvFfC?m=en-us&referrerID=InAppShare
  3. Great recognition for Mr. Guyton and the program. Nice post @jdennis82
  4. I say defensive front 7 improvement. Why reinvent the wheel -- look at what FAU and Troy were able to do. There is no reason we cannot implement something similar in terms of scheme and personnel. The specific issue in my mind is how badly we struggled giving opponents long 3rd down conversions. We had a really tough time getting to the passer in those situations or just making a damn play.
  5. Have not seen it and have been looking for it.
  6. QB: 1 RB: 1 WR: 2 TE: 1 OL: 2 DL: 0 LB: 4 DB: 0 11 total and all 3-star rated so a GREAT start to this class for sure. Now just have to hold on to these guys. If you factor in that we typically will have 25 spots to give on average, we have 14 left. I know that Blue shirts and Gray shirts, mid term transfers can complicate this formula but for simplicity let's assume we have 25. Personally I would prefer saving a fair amount of the remaining 14 for spots that open up later in the recruiting cycle. We historically have landed some of our best players in the last month of the process. From a position perspective, it looks like we need to get more DB's and DL's. I think we may be set at QB unless a big one drops in our laps. I feel like D-Line is where we need the most help and depth from a program perspective which honestly is not a new phenomenon.
  7. Great write up! Excited to land him. What a great class so far!
  8. Updated as of Friday. A few things to remember: College sports accounting is fuzzy and often rigged to make schools look poorer than they are. This only includes public schools. This counts schools where they were last year, not next year. Link: https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAzkRyI?m=en-us&ocid=News Link: http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/
  9. Yes please!!🙏🙏🙏🙏
  10. Watching BC besting Edmonton 14-9. yes I understand it’s CFL but dammit I just love footballs in any form. GMG!
  11. Sad truth is many would sell their soul to be a hair away from a playoff spot like Baylor was. Has their recruiting suffered? Sure, to an extent - however they are still recruiting at a very high level off of the fact that a). they are in the Big 12 a p5 conference and b). had a ton of success during the Briles era (like top 5 in country etc). The Baylor alums I know - and there are many good ones I know who are family and friends - have sort of segmented this away from the rest of the university. It's a dark chapter but it did not pertain to the University as a whole. That is why these revelations from McCaw are so insidious. He insinuates that this segmentation was by design from the highest levels of leadership including the BOR. And all this from a school that was only given entry to the Big 12 due to the political influence of alumnus and then governor Ann Richards. They couldn't have entered the conference on their merits. You can't dispute what they were able to accomplish from that winning era though. Look at their newly built stadium, the Heisman trophy winner, the national recognition, the increases in season tickets and donations... believe me that Baylor is still the beneficiary of this and will be for many years to come. Just like Penn State, the transgressions will be paid off and swept under the rug. That good ole Baylor line will carry on.
  12. Wow - how low can you go? And yet the Big 12 looks the other way. “Nothing to see here — move along.” What a disgraceful situation in Waco.
  13. With the current leadership, and being under the thumb of the UT System it may never happen - which is a shame. Would love to see them get some form of football back even if it is D-II etc.
  14. Just a friendly reminder, as it has been awhile since we secured his commitment but we need to keep Fennegan on the radar when we discuss future QB options. Here's a link to his original GMG.com recruiting thread: Also his 247 profile: https://247sports.com/Player/Cade-Fennegan-46036946/ And an article from his hometown paper: https://lakewood.advocatemag.com/2017/10/30/cade-fennegan/ Fennegan is serving a 2-year Mormon mission and thus would be eligible to participate in spring 2020.
  15. Really wanted this guy and felt like we had a shot with Montgomery being on thin ice at Tulsa. He hasn’t signed yet so I would keep communication channels open.
  16. Wow that Newman call on Spud might make a top 10 of All Time boneheaded UNT decisions.
  17. Impressive drink list and menu!
  18. Welcome JJ!!
  19. Like him and hope for the best but the flat billed hat just doesn't work for me. That is all.
  20. Here's where I disagree. He would not take a Minnesota offer if he also held one from Texas A&M. He did not have an offer from the Aggy. These offers have either expirations or were not legit to begin with.
