Great vid! So I have to post this, the Lawrence family came to Tony's tailgate the very first season when Mike was a true freshman and we tried our best to roll out the red carpet treatment for them. Absolutely some of the nicest people I have ever met. This story could not happen to more deserving people and I am so happy for them. Hope to run into them again this season and here's wishing Mike has a great season. GMG!

August 13, 2018 New SERVPRO First Responder Bowl to be played at Cotton Bowl Stadium DALLAS – In a joint effort to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s First Responders, the annual college football bowl game played at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas has been renamed the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. Kickoff for the newly christened SERVPRO First Responder Bowl is set for December 26 at 12:30 p.m. CT (1:30 p.m. ET) and will be televised by ESPN. The agreement between ESPN Events and SERVPRO was brokered by Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment. "We are truly grateful for all first responders’ sacrifice and service,” said Brant Ringler, Executive Director of the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. “It is a tremendous privilege to honor these brave men and women who protect our communities 24/7/365. As this game continues to grow, so do our ties with first responders. Additionally, having a sponsor like SERVPRO who works along-side and supports these community heroes reinforces our goals of recognizing our first responders.” "We are proud to present the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl dedicated to honoring some of the hardest working men and women in our country" said Sue Steen, CEO of Servpro Industries, Inc. "We recognize the dedication and selfless acts of our First Responders and are honored to help highlight and celebrate the commitment of these everyday heroes." The 2018 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl is the ninth edition of the bowl game, formerly known as the Heart of Dallas Bowl, and part of the 89-year history of games being played at Cotton Bowl Stadium on the grounds of Dallas’ Fair Park, which features 227 acres of museums, attractions, history, art and performances located in the heart of the ninth largest city in the United States. First responders to be honored include police officers, firefighters, EMS workers, correctional officers, search and rescue, dispatchers, security guards, federal agents, border patrol agents and military personnel who have specialized training and are the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency. “This is an exciting change, and we are humbled by the fact that an actual bowl game has been named exclusively for the first responders of this country,” Dallas Fire-Rescue Fire Chief David Coatney said. “We are truly honored to have a bowl game here in Dallas named after the hard working men and women serving and protecting communities across this country. It always feels great to be recognized, and I know our officers and firefighters are touched by this overwhelming show of support,” said Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall. The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl tickets will go on sale in September. Tickets for First Responders will continue to be underwritten by our corporate sponsors. Planning for the First Responder Fan Fest in Cotton Bowl Plaza will begin immediately. Anyone wanting more information on the bowl game can visit www.firstresponderbowl.com. Welcome to the site. I think it will be huge, and I think it will have a major impact but you are correct - in a sense - it is keeping up with the Jones'. That's the problem with athletic facilities, you can blink your eye and what you thought would put you at the top is now outdated. Perfect example is you wouldn't think UT would be needing new facilities anytime soon with all that they have. UT just approved $175 million in upgrades to DKR and I just saw an article that part of the reason Jimbo Fisher left Florida State for A&M was the lack of a "football only" facility. While we are not recruiting against these schools, we sure want to be in a good position for the schools that we are recruiting against.

NORTH TEXAS MEAN GREEN COACH: Seth Littrell, 14-13, third season at North Texas 2017 RECORD: 9-5, 7-1 C-USA POSTSEASON: lost to Troy 50-30 in New Orleans Bowl » A LOOK BACK The Mean Green made a dramatic turnaround in Littrell’s second season at the helm. With depth intact, Reffett and defense aim for breakthrough season
Harry replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Football
It would be interesting to see how the success of the offense and passing game has impacted the amount of time the defense is required to be on the field. Back in the Dickey and some of the Mac days, we had stout defenses but they did not have to be on the field near as much. -

Wow sounds like he was a very good player; BURKLEY HARKLESS Burkley Harkless, a nosetackle for North Texas in 1965 and 1966, was a big part of the 1966 defense which allowed just 118.4 yards rushing per game (fifth fewest allowed in school history). That team allowed just 413 rushing yards, the fewest in the Missouri Valley Conference that year. Not only for his efforts that season, but both years at North Texas, Harkless was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Team. The Bay City, Texas, native participated in the 1967 Coaches All-American Game as a member of the West Team. Prior to attending North Texas, Harkless was a two-time All-America selection at Wharton County Junior College in 1963 and 1964.

Follow Up Thought About the Heart of Dallas Bowl Situation
Harry replied to Green Lantern's topic in Mean Green Football
I thought the same thing but it seems that they are more concerned with people having to stay in hotels so they don’t see our numbers as profitable as having people come in from out of town😭 -
Calhoun City, Mississippi, is a small dot on the map. The population of the tiny town about an hour northwest of Starkville registered at a shade over 1,700 in the 2016 census. But Calhoun City is home for North Texas senior cornerback Kemon Hall. "Calhoun City is a small little town, but the country life allowed me to learn a lot from a lot of the older people in town," Hall said. "There are a lot of people that I look up to there and they have always been there for me." One of Hall's biggest passions off the field has played a big role in his life, and has provided parallels that have helped him grow in football – hunting. "I've seen my granddad come in and out of the house after hunting since I was like five," Hall said. "I just caught on to it and from there, I always wanted to do what he was doing. That's where I got the love from. "I hunted with my granddad when I was old enough to tote my own gun," Hall said. "He used to take me when I was younger and couldn't carry a gun, but when I got to be about eight, he got me a single-barrel 20 gauge and I was shooting at deer but not touching them. I was killing rabbits and other smaller animals. The experience with the beagles and we had to feed them every morning. That is what I liked best, was loading up the dogs, getting the four-wheeler and just going to the store to meet up with our hunting buddies and go out and have fun." Hall sees similarities between hunting and his other passion, football. The biggest crossover between the two comes down to focus and discipline. Both traits translate to success in both arenas. "It's a challenge when you're hunting. "Just going out there is peaceful and allows me to get away. It lets me stay out of trouble and stay out of the neighborhood." On a roster composed of 75% native Texans, Hall is one of just two Mean Green players that hail from the Magnolia State. He carries his home with him near and dear to his heart while in Denton, and his country-style upbringing has helped shape him into who he is today. "I am a person that always tries to do the right thing," Hall said. "I never get too high or too low and always try to lead by example." The example Hall followed as a kid came from former Green Bay Packers safety, M.D. Jennings, who spent three seasons in the National Football League following a successful career at Arkansas State. Nine years his senior, Jennings served as a father figure for Hall, providing guidance and a road map for Hall to follow a similar path in life and football. The Mean Green could be a threat if they can get their defense up to speed with their offense. They’re a one sided opponent - outscore them, because they can go on offense but they can’t dictate pace." "Strong offense, the wide receiver from Notre Dame [Jaylen Guyton] really stands out on film." "The offensive system is interesting, they’re doing more experimental stuff than you’d expect from a Leach tree OC [Graham Harrell].” read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/athlonsports.com/college-football/c-usa-coaches-talk-anonymously-about-conference-foes-2018%3Famp

You are sitting right on top of the action almost right on the field. It's a much better viewing seat than the club although I think the regular sections like 105 are pretty sweet as well. It looks like a more comfortable chair as well although I am not sure about that.
