Some of these staff positions take time to bear fruit. For instance, I have been hearing that the fund raising arm of athletics has been making great strides. You may not see that immediately, however it will payoff in the long run.

My understanding was we offered him along with Farrar (his RB teammate) and were on hold if SMU got another guy they had ahead of him. We were all over this kid though because we were recruiting his teammate. I have been hearing he was a very undervalued talent for a long time.

Nate Woody is the defensive coordinator for the Army West Point football team. In 2023, Woody's total pay was $480,000.

I do think we should be compiling a database of NIL transfers and how things played out for them at their new destination. And I think it is fair game to share that data with the recruits and their parents. It seems to me that for most of them it is not always as advertised. My hope is that the new legislation will address agents and representation in the NIL/Portal process. There are some good ones who really help but sadly a lot of bad ones that are being highly compensated to over promise and under-deliver.
