I don't know if this is really that big of a loss. I was excited when he came on board, but I don't think the steak was as good as the sizzle.

Hmm, This couldn't have been a big pay raise, right? And he's not really jumping to an on-field position, so it's essentially a lateral move... I bet Morris could have found the difference between what TXSt was offering if he felt Coach O was instrumental to our success. Wonder who the new guy will be?

Lost to the preseason favorite. No shame there. Slightly disappointed we missed so many free throws and had so many turnovers but I guess it is what it is. Burton has exceeded expectations in his 2nd season. We should all be excited for what's to come. Even with the loss of Lampkin, no reason to believe they won't come back just as strong.

Traitorous to take that job. Good riddance!

piss poor first half put team down 15, great 3rdQ to get to 1pt back and then choke in the 4Q. WBB seems to up and down and a poor start and cold finish took its toll and USF was better team, plus look at their schedule playing some of the big girl teams including a win over #10 Duke. FT shooting is god awful, should be the easiest thing to fix

The thing is that our ADs have been putrid, except for Wren Baker. Helwig whored us out for money in every way possible. RV came here and opened up tailgating, but he was terrible at communication, hiring coaches, and scheduling for home games. And he was here for 16 years. Wren was great, which was why he went to WVU. Mosley is back to the normal UNT AD management, which is bare minimum to keep his job...which is staying in budget.

The more I think about this game, the more pissed I become. We should have never lost to them.

We are much improved over the last two years but . . . Unfortunately, we are not good enough or consistent enough to win when needed. We have not beaten any one of significance over the last two years and we have flaws. Coach instantly made us better and the players work hard. You have to make free throws and play defense to be champions.

Hopefully the men don't follow suit.

I looked it up, and it was a short interview with Brett Vito. Not often that you hear about our basketball teams on KERA radio. For Athletic Department's like ours, not even close. Here are the sources of revenue as reported by the AD financial reports. 71% of our AD's budget comes from Direct Institutional Support and Student Fees. Throw in things like NCAA distribution, Conference Distribution, etc. and 75-80% of what the AD brings in is on auto-pilot. Basically, without doing anything, three-fourths+ of the revenue is protected. Maybe this is the source of our problem....there's minimal incentive/need to generate revenue.

When did we get so high and mighty that an NIT bid is beneath us? Post season basketball builds the brand name and culture. It helps in recruiting players in the portal. Guys want to come play in a winning program.

Its definitely a promotion and pay raise. In today's college football landscape, the head coach and GM decide who the team is going to recruit/sign and its the Director of Recruiting's job to oversee the recruitment of the players chosen by the coach and GM.

Ever see the guy? He's humongous. Once saw him tweet, that he had just gotten home. (This was in May). And that he was gonna stay in his truck for 15 or so minutes....because he was dreading going up to his apartment on the 3rd floor. So good for Bobcat High. They can have his initials on their unis.......when he cacks.

Your last paragraph is what has made this entire university so completely lost on donations from alumni. No connection ever made, no connection ever expected, no connection ever acknowledged. It all runs both ways. This place has been a diploma mill for decades because of its location and ease for admittance. So the administration and faculty know the students are always coming, the town knows the students are there, and the students come and go to class and never come back when they’re done.

Scheduling games @ High Point and @ Mcneese is poor scheduling. Those are very good low major programs. If we want to play those teams then they can come to Denton. If they don't agree then don't play them. Not sure why the eyeroll. It's pretty straight forward scheduling methodology. 2-4 Home and home with mid majors every year. Get a couple doodoo squads in Denton each year. Beg, borrow, and steal for a H/H with 1 high major. Try and get into 1 competitive tournament every year (3 games) and only schedule low majors as home games (1 or 2). That's 10-12 OOC games and we don't go slip on a random banana peel in central North Carolina.

Is that guy George Matsakis for us? I don't even know who that is or what he does. George made $91k last year while Coach O made $65k, so yeah, definitely a bump in pay. Looks like I'm wrong on this one, and Coach O took a nice opportunity. Best of luck to him!
