Back in June we had $3.5 million in donations and have had many more large donations since that date including this one. I think he deserves a lot of credit.4 points

Then play them in their house. An away loss at Kentucky is worth more than a home win versus Mississippi Valley. I'd rather have 4 road games against high-major schools than play bottom of the barrel schools at home. If you split those road games vs high majors, that likely puts you at 2-2 in Quad 1 games which would look great on our resume. A Quad 1 road game just needs to ge top 75. At our house they have to be top 30. It's almost more beneficial to be on the road because there's more room for error. Neutral site opponents need to be top 50 which is why so many schools do those tournaments. There's a ton of room for error. You just need to go .500.3 points

BALLGAME! UNT surrenders the 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 7th. In the 8th, the transfer Bearclaw hits a two-run homer and the ladies hold in the bottom frame to beat Central Michigan, 5-3 and start 2025 1-0!3 points

Two straight losses is not a free fall, it's just a streak. If we lose four in a row, that's a free fall.3 points

Top of 2nd....against CMU....Mean Green up 2-0. Rylie Nicholson doubled in a run. Then later, she stole 3rd......catchers throw was wild....and she scored on the overthrow. Tatum Sparks is catching. Rylie McNemar at 3rd. Freshman Ausha Moore is at shortstop....with Cierra Simon moved to 2nd. 1st base is Kailyn Bearpaw (transfer from Tulsa). Outfield of Taylor Platt (LF), Rylie Nicholson (CF) and Maddie Conley (RF). Skylar Savage pitching.2 points

It doesn’t bother me at all. Love it or hate it, it’s what programs like UNT need to do to compete in today’s environment. We simply don’t have the appropriate time or scholarship capacity to bring HS players in, develop them for a year or two, get them to have a breakout year, and then lose them in the portal. We need to bring experienced college level guys in who can make an immediate impact for 1–2 years.2 points

I hate you....hope all is well on the other side of the world I came to North Texas because it was 7 hours away from my home. did not want to be around those I grew up with. I get why kids want to leave and go explore. every kid needs that.2 points

The AAC as a conference needs to schedule better. Just looking at our schedule, we should only have two of these: Wayland Baptist, Evansville, Texas Wesleyan, Mississippi Valley State, Houston Christian, High Point, App State. A bunch of no names that completely ruin our SOS. I get needing a tune up game or two to begin the season, but after that it needs to be balls to the wall in out of conference. The AAC is too weak, and by the time we hit that schedule (for the most part) there's nowhere to go but down.2 points

Perspective: we just played 4 games in 8 days. Given the physicality of our style, and the 8 man rotation, this is pretty brutal. I'm not justifying the losses - I know UAB matched that run - but I think it's reasonable to backtrack on any "free fall" thoughts, and be optimistic about 4 days of rest.2 points

We really need this one for seeding purposes and to stop the bleeding after two close losses.1 point

I am no basketball expert but this has seemed to me as a hopeful NIT team at best. Lorient and Wright have flashed brilliance and I really hoped Loirent could be the guy but in the modern game you seem to need a go-to guard to win games. I don’t think we have one this season. Plus Hodge might not be the guy to take the team to the next level. 🤷🏻♂️ Scoring 50 point and a couple rounds in the NIT isn’t going to move the needle, unfortunately.1 point

Did I misrepresent myself? I'm trying to say tap the breaks on any "we are free falling". I'm not justifying losses when the load is more than usual. I feel like there's a difference between these. We can disagree on the work load, and still agree it's too soon for "free falling". How about this We loafed around at the beginning of the UTSA game, the worst we've seen in years, and were thisclose to winning it despite the 1H performance. Then we lost a matchup that's been a toss up every time for years. The UAB games seem to almost come down to a last shot, and can go either way. I need waaaay more evidence before I consider these the beginning of a freefall. I mean, we might be entering one, but right now it's just 1) a game we lost that we should have won. Every team in the country suffers 2-ish of these each season. and 2) a loss in a series that seems like it's 50/50 every time. I hope I've clarified my position here. Here's a picture of some hot dates.1 point

I love Jared’s boardroom skills. Thank you again. Now go get the marketing genius on staff and please avoid any friends or kin of Nico Harrison. I don’t want to move to the WAC in the middle of the night. GMG1 point

The problem is and should be obvious, good teams seldom schedule oc away games. Without a name like Memphis and/or money like Memphis, scheduling upper tier or even pier schools to games in Denton is very difficult. In fact, NT has been so good lately, that it is hard to even get decent away oc games.1 point

Hindsight is 20-20.....but it's a shame that Kayleigh Smith wasn't the first one out of the 'pen.....as she got through her inning.....unscathed. The two freshmen pitchers, Maloney and Buffington....are both highly touted. Maybe....first game jitters? Anyway.....two more games tomorrow. Go Mean Green!1 point

4-3 UNT going into the fifth. Anderson is pitching again and has not given up any hits through 2.1 but has walked four batters. Tough to see with Childers, who really struggled to close 2024.1 point

She left with an out in the 7th, but all 3 runs go on her record.1 point

Also tough, and a situation where I would still say wait until after 3-4 days of rest before making any declarations of “free falling.”1 point

My 0.02: You're body gets used to what it does, no matter where you are on the athletic spectrum. So if it spends most of the season training and preparing for a schedule that is 2-3 games/week, then you throw 4 games at it in 8 days, it's going to take more out of you. I don't think they told them team to pro-rate their effort across 4 games. I think they tried to go just as hard as they were already used to.1 point

Absolutely agree. Looking at Memphis, if they take a couple conference losses, it's OK because their OOC is good enough to make-up for it. Our OOC is such that we can't afford any conference losses. I believe we're good enough to make the tournament but our resume suggests we haven't proven it and with our OOC, we were barely had the opportunity to prove it.1 point

but some people want to get away from where they have been growing up, and I just want to explore. i love this quote from him....we complain often about not getting the hometown kids to stay...kids want to get away from home and explore. we can't expect every player from denton to play at north texas.1 point

Given the nature of the company, I wonder if this could be an in-kind donation and they will take on some aspect of the project?1 point

DENTON, Texas – Head coach Eric Morris announced the addition of two new student-athletes to the UNT football team on National Signing Day Wednesday. The Mean Green added Bryce Garza our of Wolfforth, Texas and Terrence Lewis from Brenham, Texas. The pair of signees join the nine other additions who signed in early December to make up an 11-person 2025 high school signing class. “We really like this entire group of high school players we signed,” Morris said. “We got bigger in a lot of areas. We addressed some needs that we had on both sides of the football. Everyone saw it this past season, we played 10 true freshmen in the bowl game. So being able to get this group of players added to improve our roster for 2025 is big.” In total, nine of the 11 high school prospect hail from the state of Texas while two played high school football in Oklahoma. Two of the high school prospects, Chris Jimerson Jr. and Jaden Manning, enrolled at UNT in January and will compete with the Mean Green this spring. The remaining nine players will join the Mean Green in the summer of 2025. so much to hate from today's game and I hope it's a learning moment for coach and players. but... I watched a very mid Kansas State team that had not won a road game in 18 months snap a near 30 game ISU home winning streak earlier today. these games happen in conference...especially in rivalry games. we probably were never getting an at-large this year, so it doesn't change a damn thing for the rest of the season.1 point

Had two shots at the end...one for the lead and one to tie. Can't complain about that, but we never should have been down like that in the first place.1 point

He doesn't need to rah rah. He needs to do his job. I don't look to him to be our "leader." I look to him to get his marketing/relations department to do their freaking jobs to fill up our arena/stadium. I look to him to canvass for money, corporate and private. I look to him to schedule as well and balanced as he can. I look to him to hire competent, winning coaches.1 point

I think Mosley is a great "player's coach" or "coach's AD" in that he supports his coaches really well and they enjoy working for him. He isn't the "rah-rah" type to stir up the alumni, students or local community, which is okay except that is what we need right now. It's nothing personal against him, but if he isn't wired that way then he isn't what we need leading the department at this time.1 point

I expect to get a lot of down votes for this, but am I the only one who cannot stand seeing these male Mean Green dancers? For God sakes go be a cheer leader or something else, but leave the Mean Green dancers to the females. Do guys have to invade everything that female do? I cannot watch the Mean Green dancers when one of those guys is out there. I want to cheer for them because they rep the school that I love, but I just can't with those guys out there.1 point
