So, is Passing Game Coordinator a thing now on college staffs? I always thought that would just fall under Offensive Coordinator or QB Coach? I would like to see us add a Tackling Coordinator on defense.7 points

Glad I'm not a betting man cause 9.5 points to Temple is way too many. We hardly ever blow people out. Our style of play doesn't lend itself to that. Probably should be a 4-5 point spread. Who cares, just win baby! GMG4 points

I drive an hour+ through DFW traffic to get to games. Parking, ticket entry and concessions are super easy. Traffic is a different story and I know most alumni aren’t going to fight through that. Some will. The lack of Greek presence at UNT basketball games blows my mind. Go to an SEC or Big 12 basketball game, the Greeks are fighting each other to support the team the most. We have a big Greek community at North Texas. I’ve never seen them at basketball. Culture has to start somewhere. The athletic department needs to reach out to the Greeks and come up with a plan to get them to games. If you can get the Greeks, I promise, the rest of the students will come like a snowball rolling down a hill.4 points

I think this speaks well for Coach Hodge and Coach McCasland. They are able to identify players that just know how to win. All of the guys that left us are on winning teams and in two cases, ranked teams. Ruben and Michigan are 14-4 and ranked #21. Aaron and St. John's are 16-3 and ranked #20. Edwards and Vandy are 15-4 and getting votes. Noland and New Mexico are 16-4 and Buggs at East Tenn. are 11-8. I think Hodge did an awesome job replacing some really good players!3 points

You get the best players available for your program/style no matter where they are and I think he has done a pretty good job! GMG3 points

This is an ongoing problem which underscores the lack of interest by alumni and students for UNT athletics. We thought the problem was bricks and sticks but its far greater and we have no idea how to fix it. We continue to milk the same cows for money and involvement in our programs and have hit a wall.3 points

I don't know man. If if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. What do you want me to tell you? I know that without Tulane, Memphis, and ECU (the schools the ACC will inevitably come poach to start) we will be in the SBUSA. Full stop. We can sit on our hands and hope that it doesn't happen. Or be proactive. I can promise you this, those named schools above (and probably a couple others) will be gone by the expiration of the current AAC media deal. Also, I have seen you mention the lack of PAC media deal at least 2 or 3 times. Do you really think they won't get a deal? Do you really think it won't be better than the current AAC deal? Also, do you think the future AAC deal will be better than what we currently have? Think about those questions. You are referencing every thing and thought with the current what is without even really thinking about what a decade from now, 2035 will look like for us.2 points

I hope that the pit is rocking. The spread is currently UNT -9.5. Odds makers know something we don't... I hope.2 points

They are all playing par for the course in relation to their productivity while at UNT. They just do less overall due to the lesser minutes they are playing. Of the group, Edwards is actually playing better. Well, slightly more efficient. He did just repeat some of his UNT antics last night while losing to Alabama, 21 points on 20 shots.2 points

This is their methodology for the NIL portion. Based on this, all the data is probably complete BS. "Accordingly, our estimates are not what specific collectives receive in contributions. Instead, we are providing what we believe to be a reasonable estimate of funding a collective(s) supporting the school might be expected to generate in funding, given the school’s historic level of support from boosters."2 points

It's going to be a tight game and we really need the Pit rocking. Can't make people show up but the ones that are there can be loud and make a difference.2 points

I believe Army has been a positive addition to AAC football as far as the ESPN media contract viewership. Especially with the great football season they just had. UNT has had several games on mainline ESPN channels in both football and basketball this school year. I would say the most in a single season in our athletic history. I don't think they would have elevated us if we didn't warrant it with ESPN.2 points

It appears we didn't even offer either one of these kids. Jordan Lowery: Denton Guyer commits to UTA at a position we need to develop. https://247sports.com/Player/jordan-lowery-46128268/ Kash Polk: Argyle commits to AZ St. https://247sports.com/Player/jordan-lowery-46128268/1 point

DENTON, Texas – Assistant coach Sean Brophy has added the title of Passing Game Coordinator, UNT head football coach Eric Morris announced Tuesday. Brophy has served as the quarterbacks coach for each of the last two seasons with the Mean Green under Morris. Under Brophy’s guidance, the North Texas passing offense has ranked 12th and fourth in FBS, respectively, in 2023 and 2024. Brophy has coached a pair of UNT quarterbacks who have thrown for over 3,000 yards while finishing inside the top 10 in FBS in passing touchdowns in each of his first two seasons with the Mean Green. In his two seasons in Denton, the UNT offense has racked up 7,923 passing yards, the second-most of any two-year period in program history. In addition, the 2024 offense finished with 4,267 passing yards, the most in program history. Brophy developed former walk-on quarterback Drew Mestemaker, who arrived at North Texas in the summer of 2024. Mestemaker made his first career start in the 2025 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl against Texas State and set a UNT record for most passing yards in a bowl game with 393 while posting 448 yards of total offense, tied for the most of any FBS player in the 2024-25 bowl cycle. In 2024, Brophy helped lead the Mean Green to the fourth-best passing offense in the country. UNT averaged 328.2 passing yards per game, shattering the UNT record of 306.8 ypg set in 2018 while also throwing 33 touchdown passes on the year, tied for the second-most in a single season in school history. Brophy helped the 2023 Mean Green finish No. 12 in the country in passing offense averaging 304.7 ypg. Mean Green quarterbacks posted a 33:9 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 147.30 passing efficiency rating on the season. In total, the UNT passing offense ranked inside the top five in program history in passing yards, passing yards per game, completions and touchdowns. Prior to arriving in Denton, Brophy spent the 2022 as a graduate assistant at Washington State under Morris assisting with the quarterbacks. During the 2021 season, his first in the coaching ranks, he served as an assistant wide receivers and quarterbacks coach at his alma mater, the University of Incarnate Word, under Morris and UNT offensive coordinator Jordan Davis. In 2021, the Cardinals posted a 10-3 record, reached the FCS Playoffs for the second time in four seasons; while assisting in the development of current Cougar quarterback Cameron Ward, he threw for 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns on the season. Brophy was a three-year quarterback at UIW after transferring from Glendale Community College prior to the 2017 season. At UIW, he played for Morris for his final two seasons, helping the Cardinals to a Southland Conference title in 2018. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Brophy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English (2018) and a Master of Business Administration (2019).1 point

I'm seriously pissed beyond a funny GIF here. Second to last in the conference in ticket sales. Last in 'Total Support'. Last in Contributions. Laughably last in Collective Funding. Still nowhere near moving dirt on the new AC. Declining basketball attendance despite a 13-4 record. Someone fire this man.1 point

Numerically, we don't warrant it via eyeballs. Our numbers are generally pretty poor. I wish they weren't. I wish they were very good, but they are usually poor. Though our bowl game had decent numbers.1 point

It's one of the reasons the AAC added 6. We 6 split 3 full shares, and ESPN gets additional content of 3 other schools at no extra cost.1 point

I’ve done Army twice. Once by the Poughkeepsie train and one up the Hudson. Both are good trips. The train requires a cab ride to the fort. The trip up the Hudson unloads at the pier where George Washington arrested Benedict Arnold.1 point

From the outside looking in Sissoko seems like a gentle giant, like he doesn't realize he's a beast. Agree on kudos for the fans, even the commentators were saying, "What is this? A UNT home game?"1 point

Because from top to bottom the Pac 12 offers opponents of interest. Kick out weaklings Rice and Tulsa, and then your interdivision opponents like SDSU, Boise, Gonzaga, Fresno, Wazzou, OSU all garner more attention than UAB, FAU, Charlotte...1 point

oh I've been to two UNT/Army games now...it's only about a 5 hour drive from where I live and I do a lot of work in the general area. gorgeous area and a great game experience.1 point

My question was pointed at the Twitter/X comment by T3 Bracketology that makes that claim. CBL may be too busy celebrating the nut job that blew up the Tesla truck at Trump Tower in Las Vegas.1 point
