Looked like a nice section of Mean Green fans in San Antonio. I could hear them on the ESPN+ broadcast during the game ....and with the North Texas chant.12 points

They will come… When we play in a new arena, and The outside temperature is between 65 and 67 degrees, and We play a more exciting brand of basketball, and We play specific teams that excite them, and The game is late enough for them to make it after work, and The game is not so late that they can’t get home early, and Ticket prices are lower, and It’s the 30th of February. As soon as that happens…sell out!11 points

Probably more dependent on how our past opponents do today. UTSA’s NET is only 227, so we may not get a ton of credit for this win, but being on the road and with a nice margin of victory we shouldn’t drop.6 points

Glad we get them at home. This is the type of game that the AD should be promoting all out. Well, they should do that every game, but this has the potential to be a great game and we need the home court advantage with a big, loud crowd. Hope Walker is back and ready to roll.5 points

Both Porter and Mestemaker should have been on scholarship. Porter did a good job considering the position he was put in. Young man fought through shoulder issues, played with pain and stayed through the bowl game. Out of his loyalty to the program, he should have been given one. Lord knows there are always scholarships given to players who do much, much less4 points

He should have been put on scholarship the very day that he was named #2 behind C4. Not that anyone cares, but I'm still pissed about Shane Porter not being put on scholarship. It was reported on this board that he wanted to stay at NT but went to UTEP because they gave him a ship. This guy was the leading rusher (648 yrds) and he added 91 yards receiving. What the hell?4 points

Well, we jumped up 7 spots to 51. Guess we can generally expect road wins with good margins of victory will yield pretty positive movement in the NET.4 points

College football used to be about good players playing a sport for an opportunity to earn a free college education at a school they liked. Now the school name and education doesn't matter; it's about how much can I make and I will play there until I find another school that pays more.4 points

Morris said he was put on scholarship late in the season. Maybe in December?4 points

Honestly terrible for UNT. They are going to be a 2-3 bid basketball league every single year. Yet again, opportunity missed.3 points

I've been really happy about the way Sissoko has been playing the last couple of games. His game has always been more about getting a pass and going at the bucket and not so much just posting up, he looks to finally get where he is supposed to be during offensive plays, he's been aggressive going up for rebounds. Let's hope he continues to play this way. Stone got 3 mins, we basically payed 7 yesterday. I'm surprised none of the other guards on the bench got any minutes.3 points
-
ya...we can clearly be pressed. I think having Dello rather than Massie/Lorient in the press-break would've helped yesterday, but it's definitely something I hope we clean up a bit throughout the rest of the season3 points

Again, lots of excuses, little solutions. Maybe the AD should gather a group of season ticket holders, local citizens, alum from the area, students and student orgs and determine what it would take to get them to a game? The concessions are a chicken and egg situation. The AD/concession handler isn’t going all out for limited fans so they will limit their offerings and staff level. Somebody has to put forth some effort to figure this out instead of saying, “That’s just the way it is.”3 points

Good to see Stone with a three today. Pack the pit vs Temple. Everybody invite a friend. Hell, buy them a ticket. Does the “A” Train still run to Denton?3 points

I get that, but the other day Minnesota/Oregon state won over higher ranked opponents and north Texas NET dropped 2.3 points

Our free throw shooting has been really good this season. It put the game away today. I’m glad we got the win, but I have a couple of questions… Why do we struggle so much against the press? Why did we continue to allow them to speed us up even after we crossed half court?3 points
-
Good practice against a full court press in the second half. Sloppy at first but we got better after several minutes of turnovers. Points off turnovers was like -16.3 points

Top notch performance from the Green on the court. Top notch performance from the Green in the stands.3 points

Players should be able to earn money on endorsements and marketing opportunities like it was intended. The paying each player a salary through a collective should be eliminated or, at the very least, reigned in. Teams like smu and TX Tech have a roster full of kids earning a salary and nobody outside of their campus has a clue who they are. That should be eliminated.2 points

I like our veteran roster make up a lot. Sissoko and Wright obviously huge games . But, i also liked the calming steady play and defense of Floyd .2 points

Man, wright and lorient are the 2 biggest factors in how far this team goes, imo. When wright is on, we are a top 25 team.2 points

I think today's teams (UNT) will have a difficult time legitimately being labeled "Best Ever" due to annual turnover. Teams in the past were together 2-4 years with very rare transfers. 2 year guys were always Juco transfers as teams were mostly built through HS recruiting. In general, the benches were deeper because guys couldn't transfer (without sitting out). Fans got a chance to embrace the players/team more resulting in larger crowds.2 points

It is about to the point to where you either need to find a way to fix it which will probably take some type of government intervention or just get rid of the sport. It's getting pathetic that every player is out trying to find a way to circumventive system and every team is doing what they want to contact players. I cannot think of another example where a system is as broken as college sports. Add in the fact that title 9 is now saying they will have to share the revenue with women's sports and this is only going to get worse.2 points

Go spread all your special knowledge on a site that cares. I am not for censorship, but I am tired of the SMU garbage that is generated on this board. I wonder how long any of us would last on an SMU board with this type of messaging. I would not doubt that these posters ether have been banned on SMU boards and/are not even SMU fans.2 points
