Nice comeback win 61-53 after trailing at half. Lampkin with a double double, 17 & 11, in a real dog fight.8 points

Good article. It's sad that we just get to know these guys, who are all likeable, and then they're gone. As fans, we'll have to start all over again next year. The portal gives, and the portal takes away.8 points

https://dentonrc.com/coach-ross-hodge-rebuilt-unt-while-maintaining-its-success-with-a-unique-style-heres-how/article_0dbbd5f0-d2f7-11ef-802c-1bcba34c42dc.html “A team like Memphis needs its top three or four guys to get 15 shots a game to be successful,” Walker said. “A team like us, it can be five to eight shots per guy. That makes us tougher to guard. I’ll take what we have over what most teams in the country have.” “The culture is what got everyone here,” Lorient said. “We’re a bunch of hardworking guys who want to win.” The Mean Green are just fine with being the Virginia of the AAC, a defensive-focused team that plays at a slow pace, spreads the ball around and — most importantly — wins. “This is one of the closest teams I’ve been on since I started out in AAU,” Walker said. “We’re close off the court. Multiple times this year guys have said they’re sad this is our last year together because of how close we have gotten in a short period of time. “We’re playing for each other.”7 points

as a lot of big time coaches have said... if you want to immediately improve your team, getting everyone's effort levels up will do that... Since McCasland started his run, the Mean Green have been all about effort, and Hodge has done an excellent job of transitioning into the HC role. It's been talked about ad nauseum, but the Mean Green have an identity. The identity is f*ck you, you aren't going to get easy passes, be able to breathe with the ball in your hands and you're going to be complaining to the refs all game about how physical the team is. It's going to be ugly, and we are betting that we are going to be better than you in the last five minutes of the game. Credit to Hodge for bringing in the right players to keep this thing moving forward. I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hoping for some hardware4 points

Is it just me or has our FT shooting improved? Especially when we make them. Most of them came in the 2nd half for this game and even late it seemed like we were being pretty clutch. In college, thats something to be proud of.4 points

I saw another rule suggestion that was trying to cut down on faking injuries, if you go down injured and have to be helped off the field you have to sit out the rest of that drive. I think that's a great rule.4 points

Ran across these Football video clips from the 1970's Fry era.... https://digital.library.unt.edu/search/?fq=str_title_serial:"Hayden Fry NTSU Coaching Film Collection"3 points

The money is one thing, but we should be able to get 5-6,000 fans at the Coliseum every time they unlock the doors. It just takes a little “want to.”3 points

Use to always go to BB games when I was a student....not much going on in Denton at that time and had a great BB Coach...Bill Blakeley3 points

We are number 23 right now for FT%, which is pretty darn good. 77.71%. https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/team/150 I want to say we were a little better in Mac's last year with Hunstberry and Perry, but I'd have to see the stats. Looked it up. 409 made of 545 making it 75.04%. Last year we were 396 of 536 for 73.88%. So I was wrong, we are shooting better than we have.3 points

I'd like to think that the Univ of North Texas has been around much longer than the Texas high schools using the "Eagle" as their mascot/sports name. They are copying us.2 points

It's kind of funny. Back then the student side was packed and nobody from Denton showed up on the press row side. Now it's just the opposite. I remember the Dorm associations and greeks going to the games. Good times.2 points

Hard to keep them when a larger program multiplies their salary and offers more than 3000 fans a game.2 points

Nah, let's keep Hodge and quit having this discussion every time on of our coaches has success.2 points

Contracts can be modified or cancelled. I doubt ESPN is as happy with the AAC as they were when Houston, Cincy, USF, and SMU were members replaced by UNT,UTSA,UAB,FAU,Rice, and Charlotte but its just a guess.2 points

ALL of our free throw attempts came in the second half of the game. The strategy at halftime for offense was obviously to attack the rim and draw fouls. It was a very strange game... Free throws North Texas 0 - 0 19 - 25 19 - 25 East Carolina 1 - 5 3 - 5 4 - 102 points

Hmm, this is a serious consideration. New question: Is this possibly the worst UNT BBall team ever? I mean, we average 58.8 PPG, which is DEAD LAST in the AAC. How can we ever expect to win anything??2 points

Fun matchup to watch. Their high scoring offense against our shutdown defense. Going to have to stay out of foul trouble. They are one of the best FT shooting teams in the country. We are really in a good groove at the line as a team. You can just see our confidence growing.2 points

I think that's the whole complaint. We need fans that love their school enough that they show up because North Texas is playing. Period.2 points

Here are replays of our two most recent bowl wins, in their entirety. Even though it would it would have been really awesome to see us win in Dallas a few days ago, it always makes me feel food to look back at these two great wins. Here’s hoping we’ll get back there next year‼️1 point

They've got a 3rd string Center that is incredibly bouncy like Lorrient. I hope he gets in the portal, and I hope we land him! Seen him play a few times #18 I think1 point

Great player, & obviously a brilliant guy to have come up as a Safety, but coach on the offensive side. Im proud of Kishawn and hope LAMo does well!1 point

“kids” kids are 10 years old not the same age as their peers going to war THIS IS WHAT THEY WANTED They had this little protective blanketed world that evidently sucked for them. They wanted to be paid! I’m all about it. But don’t whine about the world turning into what they wanted. Want to be a free agent and get that bag? You gotta deal with this. If you don’t want to be taken advantage of…. Be smarter. I don’t know what to tell you. These agents aren’t doing anything illegal. we seem to want it to both ways. Why are we treating all of these 19-20 year old ADULTS like little babies. Go get paid! I’m all about it. I really am. I think they should get paid. But What are we supposed to do? Put more rules in? They didn’t like the rules. The rules were oppressive. Holding them back. So put your big boy pants on and tell these snakes to F off. Protect yourself. You’re on your own now. Act like it. You know how agents stop charging 20%? When there’s no demand for their services. Until then…..1 point

What's with the two large grassy areas under the seating? Are they expecting to add seating there? Looks awkward...1 point

I am. Haven't seen anything to indicate Mosley is anywhere close on this. The fact that it's separated out into two phases on lightthetower, and the FAQ is basically warning that just because phase 1 is done doesn't mean phase 2 will start immediately after gives me very little confidence in this AD.1 point

I really DO NOT like the endzone rendering. It looks like a lot of wasted space (roof) that could be used for some great elevated seating. It also replaces a large central videoboard with a wimpy one in the corner? Let's try another design!1 point
