Great win for the good guys. Not exactly breaking news but Lorient has been such an awesome find for this team. He's so much more skilled than I anticipated and he has room to grow on both ends. I cringed at the early season lineups with him and Moulaye, but that's easily been our best 4/5 combination. Atin is ridiculous when he's on. Delo barely scored a point and he's one of my favorite players to watch. Oh and Hodge moves to 3-0 against ECU.14 points

https://dentonrc.com/coach-ross-hodge-rebuilt-unt-while-maintaining-its-success-with-a-unique-style-heres-how/article_0dbbd5f0-d2f7-11ef-802c-1bcba34c42dc.html “A team like Memphis needs its top three or four guys to get 15 shots a game to be successful,” Walker said. “A team like us, it can be five to eight shots per guy. That makes us tougher to guard. I’ll take what we have over what most teams in the country have.” “The culture is what got everyone here,” Lorient said. “We’re a bunch of hardworking guys who want to win.” The Mean Green are just fine with being the Virginia of the AAC, a defensive-focused team that plays at a slow pace, spreads the ball around and — most importantly — wins. “This is one of the closest teams I’ve been on since I started out in AAU,” Walker said. “We’re close off the court. Multiple times this year guys have said they’re sad this is our last year together because of how close we have gotten in a short period of time. “We’re playing for each other.”6 points

Though the end of last year’s game in Greenville was thrilling, this kind of second half is easier on my heart!6 points

Screw pizza. I remember back in the 90s/early 00s, Wendy's used to run some promotion where they handed out cards where if NT made like 6 three pointers you got a free burger. Well, the folks at Wendy's didn't check (I mean this was before smart phones and all) --- I got A LOT of free burgers on nights where we didn't hit the requisite number of threes.5 points

It’s crazy to think how stacked that FAU roster under May was that a guy like Lorient couldn’t find quality minutes. Guy is a complete player and an incredible athlete.5 points

Great. We have to watch 10 and 22 year old videos to feel better about the current state of the program.4 points

Great halftime adjustments, I just wish we could come out looking ready on the road. Hodge says he told them at half that he wasn't seeing the type of effort we should be having. Floyd needs to drive with confidence and take the shot, got himself into trouble a few times when I felt like he could just shoot. On a side note do we need to do steroid testing at ECU? Why were their guys so jacked? 😂4 points

Felton is a heck of a player. Sissoko with another solid game. Lorient and Wright with their typical nights. Agree with the comment about Walker. Other than his occasional lazy pass, he is clutch in so many ways that don't show up in the box score. Great leader and just clutch player. If we could get Jossell, Floyd and Massey rolling, we'd be unstoppable.4 points

Hahahaha....one of the best all time lines by George, "...you know I always wanted to pretend to be an architect." I don't claim to be an architect, but I know sh!t when I see it. 🤪4 points

Never realized how many architects we had on this site. Starting to rival the number of clothing/uniform designers.4 points

Hmm, this is a serious consideration. New question: Is this possibly the worst UNT BBall team ever? I mean, we average 58.8 PPG, which is DEAD LAST in the AAC. How can we ever expect to win anything??3 points

I saw another rule suggestion that was trying to cut down on faking injuries, if you go down injured and have to be helped off the field you have to sit out the rest of that drive. I think that's a great rule.3 points

I think that's the whole complaint. We need fans that love their school enough that they show up because North Texas is playing. Period.3 points

He is this team's Thomas Bell. Those types of players just have a high basketball IQ and do a lot of the glue type stuff. Just all around utility guy.3 points

Never really felt in doubt about this one even though we trailed much of the game... glad to get the win on the road. Basically held them to 7 the final 8 minutes or so. Not going to count that desperation 3 at the buzzer.3 points

I'm confused; am I a North Texas fan, or a fan of the other team? Last I checked, I show up to the Pit to watch North Texas play basketball because that's MY alma mater...the team on the opposing bench is peripheral to my reason for attending.3 points

Everyone that lives in Frisco, Allen and on the eastern side of the Metroplex should be required to move closer, maybe even inside the Denton city limits if they really loved their school.3 points

I don't think that should have counted. If you saw the replay from the basket-camera view he caught the ball, pivoted, jumped and shot. You can't do all that in 0.5 seconds...not 5 seconds, half of one second. It doesn't really matter other than taking our defensive scoring average up slightly and making it look closer than it was, lol.2 points

I don't expect this game to be easy. Away games are already hard enough, but ECU has played some teams close.2 points

Big game. Teams are starting to pool together in the standings. Good separator game to solidify ourselves into that top quarter of the conference and to push ECU down into the bottom quarter/half.2 points

Go West young man - it worked out for TCU. The revitalized PAC, top to bottom, is a strong conference (stronger than the AAC) and will regularly be a multi-bid conference in the NCAA tournament. We should be pursuing membership IMHO. If Texas State and/or UTSA gets a nod and we don't it will be a colossal mistake.2 points
