I really DO NOT like the endzone rendering. It looks like a lot of wasted space (roof) that could be used for some great elevated seating. It also replaces a large central videoboard with a wimpy one in the corner? Let's try another design!8 points

Why not go vertical and horizontal? There are drive throughs under buildings all the time. expand the AC towards the scoreboard at 2 levels high. part of that first level will be the drive through, but visually from the stands, it will look like a building. put a 40yd scoreboard spanning the top of the building and ditch the 2 postage stamp boards in the corners. the building will look massive, will close off the end to contain sound and could almost be legit.6 points

Here are replays of our two most recent bowl wins, in their entirety. Even though it would it would have been really awesome to see us win in Dallas a few days ago, it always makes me feel food to look back at these two great wins. Here’s hoping we’ll get back there next year‼️5 points

Never realized how many architects we had on this site. Starting to rival the number of clothing/uniform designers.5 points

How much does a player need to beef up to prevent a leg from shattering on a kick return?5 points

Frisco is not the same as those driving from south of 20 or Rockwall/Kaufman county. Commute right now at 7pm from my house is 1 hour 10 minutes. To make it to a 7pm game, the eta jumps to 2 hours. Factor in another 1h10 minutes to get home and there's just no way I could make it to a 7pm game when I barely make it home until 5pm and then justify keeping elementary aged kids out until past 10pm on a school night. Weekday attendance has to come from Denton County.5 points

I’m in East Allen as well, but I get your point. When you have home games like MVSU, Wayland Baptist and Houston Christian….it really doesn’t put the wow factor in getting motivated to go. The AD and his staff are just going through the motions and I feel bad as hard as this basketball team works and their recent accomplishments…they get a cheap game day atmosphere or a t-shirt gun that doesn’t work.5 points

Re-design the end-zone facility…look really cheap! Let’s wait until we can do it right!5 points

I'm confused; am I a North Texas fan, or a fan of the other team? Last I checked, I show up to the Pit to watch North Texas play basketball because that's MY alma mater...the team on the opposing bench is peripheral to my reason for attending.4 points

It's not shown in the rendering but I remember hearing that the central video board would be replaced with TWO video boards on each side that were the same size as the current one. Now maybe that has changed but renderings are not always the final product.4 points

It would obviously be more expensive, but your suggestion of going vertical is spot on. Close in that end of the stadium somehow to add some overall intimacy to the stadium and keep the crowd noise in. Add a floor or two of additional suites. Maybe an elevated walking concourse on either side to tie into each side of the stadium. If it blocks off the windows of the current AC, so be it. The windows can overlook a nice atrium. We just need to win a billion dollars in a lottery!4 points

All portal players are prima Donna’s that are legends in their own minds. Chandler Morris for one is damaged goods that UVA will never recover what they shelled out for him.4 points

Getting alumni there is one thing, but why are the students not attending games?? The students live there, the team is doing well, why are they not attending games? I can remember years when the team was not so good, yet the students showed up, and the student population was a lot smaller back then.4 points

Agreed. Looks cheap and half-assed. Seems weird, but sometimes an end-zone complex can make or break the overall feel of a stadium. This one breaks it. I always thought the original placement of the athletic center in relation to the stadium was odd and was going to be problematic for any meaningful improvement. Maybe the architects were given instructions to keep the windows (AD/Coaches offices?) with a view of the field? If this is it, I'd just leave it the way it is until it can be done right/better.4 points

In the last 20 years we have built more facilities than ever and I really can't name one that doesn't look good. I will trust they will do the same here. Then again, none of this isn't going to occur unless some $$$ is raised.3 points

We're definitely entering some strange new territory. I do prefer this over what's happening right now though. There is just too much nebulous unknown secrecy over NIL that has way too many chances for little things like unpaid payments, broken promises, to bigger things like tax evasion, fraud, money laundering, sports betting, bribes, etc. If we get contracts out of this I'd consider that a win, you can do 1 year, 2 year, or 4 year contracts and if someone wants to take a player you can buy their contract out. It gives us a nice bump to develop these players and some money to actually be able to build up a roster.3 points

Is it just me or are we doing really well in the portal? So hard to tell but 247 has us 3rd in AAC for transfer rankings. Would be incredible if we could find a way into 2nd. How’s everyone else feeling?3 points

Here’s my updated projected depth chart now that the spring semester has started. Not sure how many if any of the true freshman are on campus for spring but otherwise this is basically our list of scholarship players for 2025 heading into spring.3 points

on this topic Im hauling my trailer up there on feb. 1st and cooking before the game up on the concourse. That usually gets a good crowd out. the whole tailgate thing before the game. lets see how it works this year. not sure why there hasn't been any marketing started on this topic so here it is. On another note wasn't construction supposed to start at the end of this last FB season? Also from the site: So are these renderings not the final design? Under the cost section How is there not a set cost already? I'm really not trying to bash the department, but this just seems very typical of the things we complain about. No clear and defined data or communication of that data, lack of organization and planning. I can't be the only one who thinks this right?3 points

He was in the portal for maybe 1 day then deleted the tweet. My guess is he realized based on the timing that he’s better off just sticking it out here in the spring and entering the portal after when there’s more of a market for teams trying to fill holes, or just staying if that makes sense. Tough to find a good landing spot with about a week before the semester starts, when he entered the portal.2 points

I don’t mean this as disagreeing with you, just as a thought. I think a big draw for TxSt fans is that this is new for them and they are excited about the direction of their program. In five years if they’re still going 7-5 and playing UNT in the First Responders Bowl, there won’t be near the excitement in San Marcos.2 points

What's with the two large grassy areas under the seating? Are they expecting to add seating there? Looks awkward...2 points

I imagine a ton of these kids are navigating a lot right now, and this aggressive, predatory behavior from these agents was new to them. They wouldn't know better. They'll learn. Probably really fast. Maybe not the best analogy, but I have strong feelings against student loan lending, and I feel like the government lending part is out of control. As a 20-23 year old, I took on way too much and there was no one there to tell me otherwise.2 points

I know we've had some questionable additions, but Coach Jones definitely deserves to be in our HOF. He resurrected a program that hadn't won much in about 15 years and made it a routine contender in the league we were in, getting to two NCAA tournaments and nearly making it a couple of other times. For many programs that would not be HOF worthy, but for us? Hell yes it is - otherwise we'd have about 30 total people in the HOF.2 points

I think we need to go out and hire a great promotional staff instead of the current people we have in place. The last failed "retro 70's" promotion was just flat out lazy. As some have mentioned on here, good idea with a lot of possibilities but wasted on just sending out an email and giving away 500 shirts that were mostly small and adult large. I'd love some accountability from the university on what efforts have been made to get the greeks and other campus organizations to attend the games. Until we get students attending in large numbers, we won't create active alumni support when they graduate. Look at the football games and how many students party on the hill and don't go in to watch the game. You may have to buy their support for a few years until it becomes the thing to do. Apathy isn't just a UNT problem. It affects lots of other mid majors as well.2 points

I am. Haven't seen anything to indicate Mosley is anywhere close on this. The fact that it's separated out into two phases on lightthetower, and the FAQ is basically warning that just because phase 1 is done doesn't mean phase 2 will start immediately after gives me very little confidence in this AD.2 points

Agree, I've never liked the design they've shown for this side. It looks like a portable you add on to schools. Louisiana Tech did it right for $22M.2 points

For Alumni, I think this is really issue #1. I know they can't dictate the schedule because of TV deals, but if you think about alum in DFW, even if a game starts at 7 or 8, that means leaving right as it is rush hour. If a person just got off work and dealt with that traffic once, they aren't going to do it again. I feel like it is a logistical issue. None of that exists for Football.2 points
