Got our tickets, got our parking, we're on the way in a bit. The wife is a SWT grad, so this should be fun. (She's ticked off that our seats are on the UNT side. Too bad, so sad 🙂 )12 points

I hope we have a good turn out today. My firefighter son was able to get tickets for being a first Responder, so we'll be there, being loud, wearing green and cheering our team on, win or lose. And a shout out to our seniors who hung in there and stayed with us to represent the University of North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN!10 points

Mestemaker looks poised out there. Handled that bad snap with aplomb.9 points

If these Refs could learn what is and isn't a catch, that would be super helpful...9 points

If I’m one of the seniors (Rod Brown, Texada, Duncan, etc) I wouldn’t want him on our sideline.8 points

EM can’t help himself. Gets cute near the goal line. Give the ball to a running back. Look for a slant or something.7 points

Why are they not reviewing plays? There’s at least a chance that long pass play was a fumble. Tsu seems to be getting screwed by this as well what’s going on?7 points

Good points, though I don't want to shorten this game and give Drew Football less time to break the all-time UNT bowl game touchdown pass record.6 points

My new favorite MG players are Jett Duncan and Rod Brown. Loyalty matters.6 points

@Brett Vito is an ass whip. These negatively tilted questions posed to these young men are inexcusable.6 points

Memphis smoked FAU . We are the best chance to beat Memphis IMHO due to our frustrating defense having the potential to cause an on court mental meltdown by Memphis. I think they will be less volatile than last year but one can hope.6 points

The ability to sustain long drives has really helped the defense and they need all the help they can get tbh5 points

Yeah he does. I don't necessarily love the footwork, but the poise and the arm strength and accuracy downfield sure look really nice5 points

Are these refs also true freshmen who haven't been on the field since high school?5 points

Great video to hear from the players. I know Vito has a tough job. I let people do their thing. But that was a poor interview job. Glass half-full mentality. I'm surprised the first kid didn't call him out. I have watched other interviews during the bowl season, and none of them came with such a negative spin. Shame that these kids have to hear that crap. I believe in this team and hope they win. Even more than looking for an smu loss .. heh heh.4 points

That kinda' summarizes some of the problems with the unlimited transfers and NIL. Here's a coach that gives a kid a chance, develops him, and he plays great. Now, a P2 team with unlimited $'s can just come in and buy the kid. As has been mentioned, the lower level schools are becoming a farm system for the P2. In this case, it happens to be from a "P4" instead of from our level, but that simply skips a step. And for those that say this is the same as what happens in the corporate world, it is similar. BUT University athletics isn't supposed to be a business. It's intended to offer avenues for students to get a degree that they may not have funding for otherwise. The sports teams are supposed to be part of something that represents the university similar to what is done in ALL high schools around the country. It's part of the American culture.4 points

@Glory to the Green I'll go through tomorrow am and try to pair it up so we have a better idea of who is staying to play on both squads and who won't be participating. I honestly think our offense may have a chance to be more explosive without Morris at the helm. He was gimped up because our throws downfield significantly dropped after the Tulane game when he took that big shot. Tons of screens, quick game, etc. I hope they allow Mestemaker to air it out so long as he's proven to earn the trust in that. I did get a good report from a former UNT football player that his friends on the defense said the offense had been killing it in practice and Mestemaker was the least of our worries in the bowl game FWIW.4 points
