Dude flunked out at UNT and ran back home to his mom in Houston and flunked out again, and trolls the UNT message board trying to act big time, because he's been run off the Houston board. Imagine how big of a douche you have to be that other UH fans can't even stand you.5 points

Blowouts can happen, even when both teams obviously deserve to be there. Just a few years ago Clemson annihilated Alabama in the national title game. I'm not saying SMU was super worthy, but you can't just go by rankings....league champions deserve a shot (yeah SMU wasn't a champ, but this same line of thinking has been used against Boise State and others for years).4 points

Yeah, if Bama hadn’t gotten beat by 6-6 Vandy and 6-6 OU they would have gotten their chance. Two pick 6’s plus another interception on 2nd and goal will get you beat, especially against a good team.4 points

the AAC is so much worse this year...I think we're top tier in the league, but I don't know where 2nd/3rd place will fall come tournament selection time. so far, this isn't a tournament team...maybe another NIT bid, but that's a statement made without my doing much looking at those 50-80-ish programs. again, I love that we have a real identity...I love that we clawed back into this game with a 10+ minute scoring drought...but until we have something that approaches offensive sets that are more than just 10-20 second iso-post backdowns we're gonna be little more than a top 50 NET team/12-seed/NIT regular. the next step is adding an offensive system to this solid defensive system4 points

One thing you can say for Coach Morris - he’s very self and program aware. I really hope the Cassidy hire works out for him. He does seem to be learning and adjusting to the ever evolving FBS landscape.4 points

What a refreshing take from a G5 coach. I appreciate that his attitude is to go do what it takes to be successful here with the current situation. It wasn't a "woe, is me," poor North Texas response like so many of these coaches have been giving.4 points

I believe UCLA basketball player, Ed O'Bannion, is the one that started this mess when he sued the NCAA for profitting from his name/image/likeness on EA Sports NCAA Basketball video game back in 2009.3 points

I kind of feel sorry for Jennings. 3 picks, 2 of them pick-sixes in the first half. But as far as their bankrolling fanbase, they can get bent.3 points

Glad for win especially since just last week I was in Appalachian’s arena for niece’s graduation. I figured the line was too generous, though it would have been achieved by more intently slowing the game down after building a solid second half lead. I expect our team will improve. They will need it for conference play.3 points

I'd like to think we're still finding each other and by season's end our offense will be a bit more dependable.3 points

Massie is out of control a lot. I am at the point that I would rather see Mason in Massie's spot.3 points

it's a dub, and I'll take it...but this team needs a lot of work. our defense isn't good enough for our offense to be so bad.3 points

This is insane. So seasons played at a JUCO don't affect eligibility at all? What this does is give a huge recruiting advantage to JUCOs over FCS schools and lower, and potentially over G5s. A player thinks he has P2 ability but isn't getting P2 offers? Commit to a JUCO, give yourself 2 years to develop and show what you can do in college ball, then still have just as many years of eligibility to offer as a high school commit would have. We are going to see more of these 24- and 25-year-old college football players going forward. Once again, note who is ruining college football....It's not the NCAA, it's the court system and government (okay, along with ESPN).3 points

Apparently you can have post after post trolling and bashing UNT, and nothing will happen to you, but if you make a thread that says "Eric Morris Should Be Fired" it gets shut down. Mods:3 points

Well, I guess it was inevitable. We have slipped below 3,000 (2,984) in average attendance for the season. The last time we were below 3,000 was 1/6/2022 when our average after that game was 2,999. Since then, we have been well over 3,000 and even finished last year's campaign over 4,000 in average attendance. In six home games this year we have had 3 games under 3,000 in attendance. Compare that to 3 games under 3,000 in the last two seasons combined. It was a fun game last night. A lot of back-and-forth runs and a Mean Green win, but boy have we squandered the momentum built at the end of last season. Very disappointed in the inability of our Athletic Department to promote and stimulate demand, get butts in seats and ultimately generate revenue. Does anyone know if the AD has done anything to try to make up the short fall we all know happens when school is not in session?2 points

Massie can be a bulk scorer at times. He had 7 points in 17 minutes. I'd rather give Newell's minutes to Mason. He only had 3 points in a pedestrian 20 minutes. Newell is also 6-9 but had zero rebounds. Mason is 6-6 but super athletic like Lorient. Put the super athletes on the floor!2 points

I'm in my mid 40s and I feel similarly. When I was a kid there were maybe 20 total bowl games max, so you usually had really quality matchups in all of them. You'd also go into New Year's Day with maybe 6 or 7 teams thinking if things fell right they could be national champs. Even the earliest forms of playoff discussion I remember back in the mid to late 80s usually just involved a game after the bowls (as then constituted) between whoever ended up as 1 and 2.2 points

Don't we have one or two guys on staff that can add a few more wrinkles to our offense? How freakin hard can it be to juice this offense up even a little?2 points

Over the past couple years since he's got here they have commented more than once that they kept track of this and discussed it with players. The problem is most players believe they will be the exception to the rule and that they are the ones that can make it at the next level.2 points

Might be one of the best statements he's made about NT Football.2 points

You know, the playoff system to create a champion is better, but I still loved the way CFB was when conferences were regional, they had their champion tied into a specific bowl game, there weren't so many spare bowls featuring matchups that nobody cares about between 6-6 teams, and each season, the end of the year was talking about who had the better resume if this team loses or wins in their bowl game. I grew up loving the SWC and the Big Eight. Each year, the goal was to make it to Dallas or Miami and see where the chips fell. You were neighbors and friends with grads of those schools. I'm sure it was the same in the old version of the SEC and the ACC. It was just a fun time--and if things went great, the Cotton Bowl, the Orange Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, or the Rose Bowl would be for a national title. But if not, you watched them all because the games mattered in the big scheme of it all and they were on all day and night on New Years Day, along with the Fiesta Bowl, and then, later, the Citrus Bowl for the ACC Champ. Its a bygone era, no doubt, but the games had great coaches all over the country and players we got to know over the years. Yes, there was plenty of cheating, and yes, the big boys controlled the game, but it was more fun. Whatever it is we have today, I feel sorry for people who think CFB today is more enjoyable to follow and support. They probably think we are olds that have Good Ol Day Syndrome and that is fine. I can't really refute any of that. But it was a sport I and many of my age (50s now) loved and followed intensely. Today, we are dropping out very quickly, as we see the farce the portal and NIL are making of this great sport. Very sad...2 points

Funny comment on the whole thing, you can legally buy players from the opposing playoff team via portal to secure a win. Thats just screwed up!2 points

Not trying to sound like too much of an ass, but I'm starting not to care how it impacts high school kids. Many of these are the same kids that you will give a chance to, and then they have a good season after one or two years and leave. So, if rightly so, they are looking after what is best for them, the Universities should be looking out for what's best for them and recruit players who are most ready to step on the field and help them play. PS also has an issue with some of these high school coaches who complain that colleges are not recruiting their kids as much but don't seem to want to bring up the fact that those same kids if they're given the opportunity, will leave a smaller school without hesitation if something better comes along for them.2 points

3rd and 2 with 28 seconds left, go 3 down make them run the ball because that is what the box is telling you to do. They run the ball and burn a Timeout and have 24 seconds to try and score down 2 scores and they are kicking the ball off to SHSU after halftime so if they don't get a TD they're looking at a 3 score deficit.2 points
