I loved Coach Mike Leach....as a football personality. He was quite a hoot. But, I hope like Hell that Eric Morris is the last guy we hire from The Mike Leach Coaching Tree. Because, I am sick of this kind of football.16 points

Loss is 100% on the Morris’. Worst game Eric Morris has called by a mile. The offensive game plan and execution flat out sucked. Wasted a really great defensive effort as weird as that is to say. I came in thinking our defense was about to get railroaded, and to my surprise they held up and kept Daily in check by and large. Hats off to Caponi and crew. I was shocked. 3 pts is a complete joke. Most frustrated I’ve been with a loss in a long time. Just awful. Massive opportunity blown AGAIN in front of a great crowd. I’m tired of this movie. Seen it too many times.13 points

I’ll guess I’ll never understand it? On the 4th and goal from the 2. There was 12:56 left in the 2nd quarter, down 7-3. At that point you surely realize you’re facing the 28th ranked pass defense, the 3rd ranked run defense, the 1st ranked scoring defense that’s only giving up 11.25 ppg, and the 5th ranked defense overall that just stuffed you three times inside the 5. Your not going to get many chances in this game. Your just not because they can run the ball and sustain drives and play keep-away as they’ve done for years. How do you NOT kick there and reward your defense for a solid effort thus far by pulling within 1 point? All I can take away from this game is, unlike in ‘07 at least we didn’t freeze our own kicker, twice….and then lose? Rick11 points

I mean it’s fine to be upset after this loss (I sure as hell am) and I know the dude is trolling, but what is he saying that’s legitimately wrong? If it makes it more palatable, I’ll say it. North Texas Football never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Seriously - What and when was the last really noteworthy thing the football program has accomplished? The HOD Bowl win in 2013? That was a decade and 2 coaching staffs ago. 5 largest crowds in DATCU history, UNT record 0-5. It’s so tiresome. Our diehard fanbase deserves better than this.10 points

I have been as big a critic of this defense as there is all year, but I’ll stick to my assessment that they were the only reason we hang around today. This Army team has put up 40+ points SIX times this season and we gave up 14.10 points

This was a game we should have won. The absolutely insane refusal to get under center from the ONE yard line and that boneheaded onsidekick early in the game were your difference. As crazy as it sounds to say, the defense was a….wait for it…strength today.10 points

I’m surprised there hasn’t been much talk on here about this play. Not sure how many of you watched the game on TV, but I did. Watching the replay, I have no idea how the review refs could not see the ball break the plane before his knee went down. It looked pretty clear to me. A 10-7 lead there would have made a huge difference in the game. I know we all felt extremely confident in our offense scoring there (2nd & goal from the 1/4-yd line), but it didn’t happen, for whatever reasons. Massive miss there. Also the INT that was overturned by replay… another miss (**EDIT** not an INT, it was the fumble. I got legitimate turnovers conflated!), even though we wound up forcing the punt. All that said, the game was decided on the 2 INTs Morris threw in the end zone. He simply can’t throw those.9 points

We got homed at home with some of the officiating, but agreed, this one falls squarely on Eric Morris and some amateur-hour coaching decisions. But, hey, we were the first to get a lead on Army so far this season, so we got that going for us. What a disaster our football program is sometimes.9 points

Army is an incredibly classy program and playing them and having them in the conference is a powerful boost to the credibility of OUR program. I’ve been to 99% of the games at DATCU and that is the best that stadium has ever looked. It is also impressive how, after the game, Army comes to our side and stands at attention for the playing of our school song. That type of respect for others is missing in our society now. I wanted Army to lose against us, but I will be rooting for them the rest of the season.8 points

Could have/Should have won the Memphis and Tulane games as well. Zero games on our schedule this year have been out of reach aside from Texas Tech.7 points

I'm going to be brutally honest. Overall, I think we are a bad team. Now, we are one of the best of the bad teams, so we will rack up some stats against terrible teams and help our offensive stars secure next year's NIL deals elsewhere. But, we have no chance of winning against any team with a pulse. We will likely finish with 6 or 7 win, which means we'll play a bottom tier bowl game against another 6 or 7 win team, and we will lose . . . because, once again, Eric Morris has never defeated a .500 or better FBS opponent at North Texas. Is 6-7 or 7-6 with only wins against terrible opponents a good sign for the future?7 points

I didn’t buy a parking pass and saw that it was sold out today. The wife and I took an Uber from Corinth and left at 1:45pm. Made it in time to see the anthem and the flyover (which was awesome). Game and back was $40 with tip. Highly recommended.6 points

See this is where the problem starts and stops with Eric Morris. He's hyper aggressive from the start and puts the defense in terrible situations from the beginning. Then when the defense allows repeated short TD scoring drives or allows 40+ despite being on the field for 15 possessions, we blame them and wonder why they can't do more. We saw today that they are capable. We've got to stop saying he does it as an anticipation of bad defense. This really starts and stops with Eric Morris.6 points

Seems coach Morris has a hard time implementing formations that are effective in spot situations and only feels comfortable with those things that he believes in such as air raid. He needs to start figuring out how to win games and a big part of that is he has the head coach having plays and formations for special situations ready.6 points

How many down votes can I get. The problem with NT is they have a Offensive Coordinator as a Head Football Coach..6 points

I think the timing of your arrival is an issue as well, but the main problem is that Denton should have redone Bonnie Brae when DATCU was being built. Can you imagine Arlington waiting to redo the roads around Jerry World or the Rangers’ Barn ten years after those facilities opened. I think the parking plan we have in place is adequate provided the infrastructure they have to work with.6 points

If Army fans weren't at least 40% of the crowd....there must have been alot of NT fans yelling for Army. The "NORTH" Westside "TEXAS" Eastside chant was the best all year...if I remember it was after a Army turn over 28519 attendance.5 points

Section 109 and 110 Army fans were great. Other than them, I am the loudest guy in that area. Mostly just loud, sometimes obnoxious. North Texas fans, every game, are less tolerant of my shenanigans on the whole, but I got props from both groups yesterday. ARMY fan was louder than our fan. I don't know if that is a reflection of them outnumbering us or that they had more to cheer about and/or are louder than when our fans have reason to celebrate. Lots of North Texas fans wear/wore black. And lots of NT fans were also served in the Army. I find it very difficult to cheer against ARMY, and I suspect other NT fans feel the same way. The Mean Green on the field wore more black than the black knights, but looked good anyway. We had West Point family and friends at our tailgate and served fantastic food (thanks to the lasses). Overall, its about as much fun as I have had at any North Texas game we lost. And it was a great joy to cheer on @FirefightnRick as he was feted yesterday. Well done, FFR! GMG5 points

Their job is to score points, not limit possessions. News Flash: Army has long drives against EVERYBODY; so if your strategy is to play keep away from a team that is the absolute best at keep away, you are plain dumb. The offense put up three, that’s 1…2…3 points. It is absolute lunacy to say an offense that failed to put up points on THREE separate trips inside the 15 yard line was hamstrung by a defense that surrendered a total of 14.5 points
-
That and the defense caused 2 turnovers against a team that doesn’t turn the ball over. Our vaunted Top 5 offense scored 3 fn points! 3 red zone trips - turnover on downs with 1st and goal 6 inches from the goal line and two interceptions. An unimaginable disaster. Then factor in receivers dropping sure fire first downs, a beyond pedestrian run game we’re forcing with a 4th or 5th string running back and so on…the offense was a complete failure. In no reality is this specific game on the defense. Sorry.5 points

The Army QB threw his first interception of the year today and they had multiple turnovers for the first time all season. Try again.5 points

Well, we have won 5 games this year. Winning one more game gets us to 6. To put that into perspective, that alone would make this the 8th time we would get to at least 6 wins since 1995. That’s 6 out of 30. It’s my belief that THIS is more than we normally are…5 points
-
Seems like these guys pay attention to stats more than winning a game. As long as they gain a certain amount of yards, reach a certain amount of points, they consider that a win.5 points

Yeah, the defense has had more than it's share or problems all year, but FOR TODAY's GAME, I hope both Eric and Chandler Morris stood up in the locker room and took acceptance for letting them down. The D more than held up their end of the load today after being put in terrible positions and with no drive consuming time or scoring support from the O. Yes, the defense is at fault for letting Army stay on the field for long drives, but that's what their team does. Our D came up with turnovers and kept fighting to the end after being on the field for over 2/3rds of the game because our high-powered offense did very little.5 points

I would love too, but at 81 with severe spinal stenosis [narrowing of the spine in lower back]I have chronic pain and just can't walk that far from parking. The last time we played at Army[ we won ] I took my 15 year old grandson. Great trip!5 points

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curt_Cignetti How in the heck did teams miss out on this guy?4 points

I’m not saying I want him back as the HC, or even the OC…but can we let Dickey take over the offense ONLY once we are inside the red zone?4 points
-
Then you’re still down just 8 if it does go 14-6. If Army shortens the game, then you have to have the points that much more when they are there to get.4 points

Can you imagine winning your first five of six games and now we are biting our fingernails just hoping for 6??4 points

He also needs to fire the OC (himself) and run the whole team. Honestly, I think he has shown that he is just an OC and not a head coach.4 points

Bad play calling and bad execution by our QB was the headliner tonight. This was after having two weeks to prepare. Just not good.4 points

We are a 0.500 team at best. We are on the treadmill of mediocrity for what seems like decades of neglect of the program from the athletic administrators. We inch forward while others are making steps or even leaps forward. This is why our attendance struggles and our notoriety is lacking despite being in a major media market. This is why we can’t talk football with our friends who graduated at other colleges/universities because we just don’t bring anything to the table. This is the product of what has been cultivated through the years of mismanagement. SL gave us hope until the clock struck midnight. Seems like we’re back in our rags again still waiting for Prince Charming to bring our glass slipper.4 points

I usually go to one home game a year, and went today. I expected getting into the Orange parking lot to be slow, and it was, as usual. But my biggest complaint today was just getting into the stadium! We stood in line at Gate 2 (west side) for half an hour trying to get in. We got there in plenty of time to get seated before the kickoff under normal circumstances, but the delay of just walking through a scanner (only two at Gate 2) and scanning the tickets slowed everyone down. On game days where 25k+ attendance is likely, they need faster throughput than this.4 points

I mean, he’s right. Our football program never fails to disappoint. It’s maddening.4 points

If I read it correctly, we are now 0-5 in front of the top 5 largest crowds in DATCU history. Also, another Mean Green bed shitting on a national broadcast against am opportune foe.3 points
