Watching Gameday. A lot of teams are still in the hunt. 3 teams from our conference are on that list. Tulane, Army, Navy. We get 2 of these the next 2 weeks at home. If we win today……we have a chance for a rocking stadium in Denton the next 2 weeks. A stadium that can be a home field advantage when it’s full. We’ve all seen it. We have a chance for 2 monumental, program changing wins the next 2 weeks. We have a chance to get on that list of being in the hunt. I’m not saying we will make the playoff. But just being on that list puts us in a club….a club of teams that have substance nationally. Thats all we have wanted. It’s all there in front of us and for us to go take. It’s pretty simple. We win today. We’re in that conversation the next 2 weeks. We lose today, we’re not.17 points

And I hope that the "rocking" you are referring to is the sound of the crowd and the Green Brigade, and not that relentless and deafening thunkida, thunkida, thunkida that makes it sound like you wandered into a gay rave instead of a football game.8 points

I vote that Colony Eagle gives the pre-game speech to the players. Hoo Rah!!!!! Beat the hell out of Memphis!!!8 points

There is no moral victory. We have the capability to beat this team if we come to play. No such thing as a moral victory IMO.6 points

This defense is actually pretty good. 👍🏾 If you don’t ask them to: - Tackle - Cover - Get pressure - Prevent scoring5 points

He's young and still a little uncomfortable speaking in front of crowds and cameras. That will improve with experience. In the meantime he's a damn fine young coach, winning and rebuilding as his entire roster has to be rebuilt every season due to the the transfer portal and NIL. In the meantime, just count our blessings. He may not turn out to be God's Gift to North Texas coaching but he has proven that he he's competent, and if we can provide him the tools he needs, he can develop a winning program. It's a damn hard job at this level. Please give Eric all the time, support, and bottles of water, that he needs. We're lucky to have him.5 points

I love chaos in the Super Conferences. Probably half the fan bases in the SEC and Big10 want their coaches fired now, lol.4 points

You look at what Eric Morris did at WSU with 1/4 the budget! I really believe Morris is establishing himself as the next qb guru. Even if UNT is a stop over to rehab careers for qb’s this could still be a big advantage for UNT. If we loose Chad do we look at the SMU kid and the OU guy who both have been demoted. Coach can spot qb talent which is huge!!!!4 points

Yes, this cannot be another the-opponent-doesn't-punt-until-the-third-quarter game. Memphis is a lot more like Tech than they are a bottom half of the AAC team. It's not fair to the offense to expect them to produce points on almost every single drive, but they'll probably have to do so to prevent a blowout. I'm still skeptical about the supposed defensive improvements. They've only looked better against completely dysfunctional offenses that can't move the ball against any of their opponents. I guess we'll find out soon...3 points

OU got beat 35-9 in Norman. Their offense is the problem. Turnovers leading to points. The defense did what it could, but an inept offense run by SL is a problem and some people on this board were saying we may as well kept him instead of hiring Morris. I can't say 100% if Morris was the solution, but SL needed to go and OU is finding out why. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving team after some of their coaches came out publicly bashing us for firing him basically saying he was good enough for lil ole North Texas. Screw those guys.3 points

Our defense has improved since the start of the year….. But I’m more focused on our offense this game. Feels like a game where we need our punter taking a nice long break today…. We need to push 50 points today.3 points

Choice is such a good coach. I remember being so sad when he left and then I saw we got Cobbs and I was really excited. So glad Morris kept Cobbs.2 points

1. We happen to have a new President (no offense to Smatresk, he was largely absolutely fantastic). But if we organize, we have an opportunity to influence bringing the parade back. 2. Teams that are worth viewing are on at 11 all the damn time. It’s for TV. It’s a good thing. Be happy about it.2 points

Other teams playing at 11:00a that day: Ohio State Navy and Notre Dane Ole Miss and Oklahoma Now, I am sure someone is about to chime in with “yeah, but those programs are different and can draw crowds at any time of day.” Yes, they are different…because they have fans whose only question is “Is my team playing?” and not the laundry list of asinine questions we keep asking: Is it too hot/cold? Is it within 15 days of a holiday? Is another team that I have no affiliation with playing at the same time? Is the opponent sexy enough (though I claim to be a fan of North Texas, so this is irrelevant)? Is it too late/early/middle of the day? Is the team winning? If so, are they winning by enough points? If so, is the offense “pretty” enough? Am I currently mad at the athletic department/university about something? Is it too far for me to drive? If not, could I just watch on tv? What does my horoscope/tea leaves/position of the moon say?2 points

Any opportunity to be seen Nationally in football during Prime Time on a Fall Saturday evening is a GOOD opportunity. But we need to WIN this opportunity to gain other opportunities!2 points

How will we ever beat the dozens of people who have the SMU game circled on their schedule??2 points

Another lost tradition. Homecoming and the Parade used to be a time for alums of all eras to return to NT. To reflect on their days there, renew friendships lost, and see how the campus has changed. Not all the change there recently has been good for the University!2 points
