Breaking: nUTSAck becomes the first team to add their season record to their helmet.21 points
-
This is why we moved to the AAC. We have to take advantage of this. What a golden opportunity.12 points
-
The AAC is obviously helping our progress in visibility because the conference is tied to ESPN for national games. ESPN wants to show the top performing schools and right now--at 5-1--North Texas is the definition of "top performing." No matter our faults, which there are many, we deserve the attention. We deserve to get more eyeballs on our school. A prime example of the opposite effect is that UTSA (2-4, 0-2) isn't getting national Saturday games at all. Who would've thought that a year ago? Drink it in, y'all. We may not be here in a couple weeks, but I hope to God that we are.10 points
-
Yikes, this sounds eerily familiar to what we were saying the week of 9/23 - 9/29/2018. Then, we get all the eyeballs on us, and crap the bed against an opponent who is actually good. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself ...again.9 points

Have we ever had three straight games on one of the ESPN channels that did not end with a "+" or a "3"?7 points
-
To be fair - That was a very common occurrence under Littrell Take for instance last week against FAU - not a big game by any stretch, but one that I wholeheartedly believe Littrell would've lost by 20 points - because that's what he did, crap the bed against teams on the road and teams who were worth a damn. I'm not saying Morris won't be the same in the long run, but a game like FAU gives me some hope that he learned from his mistakes last season and is improving upon them.7 points

We also have another Open week before the Army game to prepare, and get healthy.7 points

Lesson Traylor should have learned from Seth. Secure the bag when you can. UTSA is just seeing how volatile G5 “program building” is. It’s all about the QB. They benefited from it for a loooonnnggg time. Now they pay the piper.6 points

I get being bummed about losing guys like this if our team sucks, but we are 5-1 (FIVE AND ONE!!!). The transfer portal has been good to us and can keep being good to us. We are going to lose our top players every year, but we have a coach right now who is replacing the guys he loses, on average, with better guys.5 points

Sounds like a chart that needs to be hanging on the wall of the locker room for all to see, especially at the end of the season. (Of course, it needs a cover for when we're bringing in prospective transfers!)5 points

We beat UTSA when they were ranked a few years ago. Would love to spoil Army’s party, too.5 points
-
Don’t bring us down yet and besides none of the upcoming teams are that good either, they have done what we have done, beaten teams they should have. All of these teams are about to experience the same thing, playing teams with winning seasons. Heck it is literally the middle of the season and we have a chance to make a statement, three of them by the way. We shall see how things turnout, but HOPE springs eternal, or is it a trap? GO MEAN GREEN!!!4 points

It will probably stretch to 5 straight games. The UTSA game is already scheduled for ESPN2 and the Army game will likely be picked up.4 points

NTSU? Let’s kick their ass for disrespecting us; I read the stat's, we have a good chance at winning this game. UNT fans show up in Memphis and let’s have the last laugh!!!4 points

Memphis drew 25K in the rain vs MTSU 2 weeks ago. This weekend will be sunny and 76 degrees, perfect weather. The good news is half their stadium is gone (renovations), thus limiting the crowd on one side... https://share.earthcam.net/tJ90CoLmq7TzrY396Yd88LTdH7AhTqcHk3j_vRAe6-4/simmons_bank_liberty_stadium_renovation/camera/view_14 points

We have a 4-18 record against them. We beat them in 1952, 1977, 1978, and 1980. We never beat them in the MVC days. In 1952, we were in the Gulf Coast Conference. In '77, '78, and '80, we were independent. We played them close the last two years, but found a way to lose. Two pick sixes and a last second touchdown have cost us two games. Close, but no win. They get to talk all the crap they want until we prove otherwise.3 points

You're assuming we're going to be 8-1. I'm just here to tell you... No way. Are we watching the same team? This defense is still struggling to say the least.3 points

We lost too many close games last year, the fau game was our second test of the year, S Alabama the first, and we passed. If this team wins the close games it will be a heck of a season. I am not too worried about our offense or even our special teams play. Our defense can give me serious heart burn…..3 points

I know it was a fun come-from-behind victory, but FAU has a 2-4 record, including a 48-14 loss to UCONN. They're not very good. Let's check the history on Littrell a little bit, because although he needed to go, facts are still facts. Littrell beat bad teams handily. I'm pretty sure he would've taken care of FAU... who was reeling from modified practices and team members with family/friends who were impacted by a hurricane that week. It was the good teams Littrell had a hard time with. We'll see if Morris is more of the same, but so far, we've played 1 FBS team with a winning record, and we got absolutely crushed.3 points

Looking a little deeper, Memphis' 4 FBS wins are against teams that are 1-5, 1-5, 1-5 and 2-4. They've beaten North Alabama, Troy, Florida St, MTSU and South Florida. FSU is having one of the all-time train wreck seasons for them. USF was expected to be decent coming into the season but they have massively underperformed. The only team Memphis has faced with a winning record was Navy, who put up 56 points to beat them. Memphis' defense looks scary on paper, otherwise. They've completely shut down almost every team's running game, with the exception of Navy who put up over 350 on the ground. Our schedule lines up pretty close with theirs. We've beaten exactly zero teams that have a winning record and got annihilated by the one that did. I think this is a toss-up game and if we find a way to win it, then we roll into Homecoming with a ton of momentum and probably a great crowd to help the team out.3 points

Win the next three games and we might move into the top 25.3 points

Did you notice UTSA is favored over FAU? FAU is salty and should win this game by 10 at least…3 points

what if we adjusted to what the offense was doing BEFORE the game? Then we wouldn't have to adjust at all3 points

Well I hope our preparation will be better than our open week before FAU.3 points

Again - Almost ALL of our transfers out of here in the past few years have not prospered at all. Take out the Murphy Twins, and the vast majority have just rotted away into obscurity. Sad. Could have been part of the solution here.3 points

An interesting rumor is that one of the fears for the playoff committee is that Navy and Army both go undefeated and play for the American championship. Then, the team that wins gets the invite and loses the following week in the Army-Navy game.3 points

Kevin Wilson said it best at his press conference ahead of our game. Said NIL has to be good enough to keep the best guys at the program. But also the kids have to know they will just be backups at some of these places and being a starter with accolades and a network and education from a school like TU (or NT in our case) is longer term more valuable.3 points

The game against Army would also be when we'll actually have a crowd, so would definitely be the biggest/best win in Apogee/DATCU history.3 points

It was important to the student body and helped create extra school spirit. I think I was short-sighted as well and lazy to get rid of it.3 points

Agreed. Obviously....I want us to beat them. And I would love for us to be the CFP team from the G5....but I think that's a real longshot. So....if it can't be us....I want it to be an AAC team. And either of the service academies would be easy to root for in the CFP. And them as a 12 seed against a 5 in game 1......would be fun to watch. Go Mean Green!3 points

Which is exactly why Caponi is the problem. He can’t/won’t adjust his scheme. But Morris is forcing him to play the best 11 guys in hopes “that” is somewhat of an adjustment. We should have lost the FAU game totally because of the poor defense. Only a miracle save by the offense prevented it. Like many of our games this season. I expect Caponi and his scheme gone at the end of the season, and Morris to bring in someone better as DC.2 points

Biloxi and New Orleans? Anyway.....my guess is....it will go to Memphis. And quite frankly...that might be the best spot for it.2 points

All three of these teams run the ball extremely well which doesn't bode well for our porous defense. Since we can't stop anyone from scoring our QB needs to really light it up .2 points
