I don’t think we will ever see this defense against a competent defense. That’s just not how football works. 😂😂😜😜7 points

Depends. Is Morris allowing the coach’s wives on this trip? Also coming off a bye week. These things will matter if Morris hasn’t exorcised Littrell’s demons.6 points

The Tech game was our chance to show where we stand against higher level competition, and we totally embarrassed ourselves. I can't blame the writers for feeling that way, we need to show that game was a mistake if we want to get higher consideration. Go out on the field and prove it.5 points

For the first time in forever we have rank potential. Hear me out. 1. beat FAU in that house of horrors where we have been stomped before. 2. beat Memphis Tulane and Army. Now we may win 1 may win none but if we take advantage of this opportunity November could be special. GMG5 points

Memphis football's game against North Texas on Oct. 19 will kick off at 6:30 or 7 p.m., the schools announced Monday. It will be televised on ESPNU or ESPN2. The official time and TV information will be announced after the Oct. 12 slate of games. The matchup at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium will be a rematch of a wild game in Denton last year. The Tigers jumped out to a 31-10 lead in that game before collapsing in the second half. The Mean Green took the lead with less than a minute to go, but Seth Henigan connected with Joe Scates for a long touchdown to give Memphis the win. I will bring it up because no one is talking about it. With Milton expected to hit Wed, do we expect to play Sat?? Arrangements would need to be made soon if it's going to switch to Denton or something else. The team would need time to get out.3 points

Who would be interested in starting watch parties further west of the Metroplex in Weatherford or Mineral Wells for the Parker/Palo Pinto County folk? I assume many of the Weatherford/Aledo people attend Tarrant County chapter events, but as a Mineral Wells resident, tough for me to justify driving an hour for a watch party after all the games I go to. Starting this weekend with the FAU game!3 points

The tech game was definitely a perception nightmare. We got caught in a momentum avalanche where 1 bad play led to another one, and another one. By the time we got out it was embarrassing. That being said, I think that game affected both programs for the better. Tech got a little bit of swagger back, and we were forced to admit we needed changes on defense. Let’s see how it plays out from here. I believe that, even though it hasn’t been the strongest competition, our last 2 games have gotten the attention of our conference mates. We aren’t “ sneaking up on anyone else this year.3 points

We find a way to win the next two on the road, we will have a real 25K for homecoming. We beat Tulane, we might have a real 30K for Army.3 points

I certainly agree we've made it out just fine as well. About Pavia, he has the Mason Fine underdog, undersized, underappreciated moxie to him. Watch him play some and it's hard not to love the guy.3 points

Actually the question is ‘Where are the students?’ Most fans sit on the west side. When I looked around it was 3/4 full and the lower section of the north end zone was 3/4 full. Student section was less than half full. There was also a large Tulsa following on the east side. DATCU is loud when the students show up. Hell, I come even when we’re bad. Don’t understand why the students don’t show up when we are playing well.3 points

I am amazed at how many of our fans act like jilted lovers, relishing the struggles of a kid who came here and balled out for this university. Many act like he was the second coming of Andrew McNulty who dared to think he could succeed elsewhere. We are 4-1, have a VERY good chance of getting back to a bowl and appear to have a defense with a pulse. We already got the pretty girl…quit stalking our ex’s Instagram.3 points

I stopped caring about how Chandler Rogers was doing when I saw what Chandler Morris could do. Eric's son has been the AAC offensive player of the week twice already this season.3 points

Trent Dilfer was a horrible hire. His team lost to Tulane by 51 today. They're 1-4. No one was at the game. When Bill Clark quit in June 2022....Bryant Vincent was named interim HC. He lead the team to a 6-6 record, and a win in the Bahamas Bowl. (they finished 7-6). Players wanted Vincent kept as the HC....but the university went ahead and hired Trent Dilfer (former NFL QB)....but who had only been a HC in high school. Anyway.....that same Bryant Vincent was hired by ULM. They're 3-1 this year....and are leading James Madison at the half tonight.2 points

Need to beat FAU in Miami. After that we face #7 at Memphis, #6 Tulane at DATCU, and #5 Army at DATCU on consecutive Saturdays - a stretch that will define this team.2 points

Why Jayden Hill is quarterbacking the defense: Prior to UNT: Spent four seasons at DII Ohio Dominican in the GMAC … started 38 consecutive games in the secondary for ODU … selected as a three-time All-GMAC player, once on the First Team (2022) and twice on the Second Team (2023 & 2021) … posted 250 total tackles, 6.5 TFLs, two INTs, 23 PBUs, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his four seasons2 points

Way too early for bowl location speculation. Hell the playoff is still on the table for us if we run the table. And if all the higher ranked G5 lose more games than we do on the way to a AAC title we still might get in. Don't get me wrong I won't scoff at being bowl eligible but I want an AAC title game appearance to get excited about post season football. Far more people will watch that AAC title game than a random mid-week Bowl Game that may not have existed before rivals like UTSA joined FBS.2 points

I think the difference I have seen is the defense. When we went to Lubbock, this defense was in shambles. That's not to say they are world beaters or can hang with major programs, but I have to admit, they look different. I think the next 2 games will show a lot more.2 points

DCTF - Note: Teams are measured against the overall strength of their conference. 1. Texas Longhorns 5 - 0 Texas was idle in Week 6 ahead of the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma. The Longhorns should be the No. 1 ranked team in the country by Monday afternoon. 2. Texas A&M Aggies 5 - 1 Conner Weigman and Nic Scourton led the Aggies to a statement victory at home over Mizzou. Texas A&M is 3-0 in SEC play and on a 5-game winning streak. 3. SMU Mustangs 5 - 1 The Ponies are in ACC contention after consecutive wins over Florida State and Louisville. Kevin Jennings passed for over 200 yards and rushed for over 100 in Week 6. 4. Texas Tech Red Raiders 5 - 1 Tahj Brooks topped 100 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown in a late-night victory at Arizona for an important road win. 5. Sam Houston Bearkats 5 - 1 Sam Houston thumped UTEP on the road to start its march towards a Conference USA title in Year 2 as an FBS program. K.C. Keeler deserves his flowers. 6. North Texas Mean Green 4 - 1 The Mean Green was idle in Week 6. They continue conference play this weekend on the road at FAU. 7. Texas State Bobcats 3 - 2 Texas State stopped a two-game losing streak with a rare road win at Troy. The Bobcats remain in Sun Belt Conference contention. 8. Houston Cougars 2 - 4 A road win over TCU propels the Coogs up the list despite a losing record. Zeon Chriss looked tremendous in his first start as Houston's quarterback. 9. TCU Horned Frogs 3 - 3 TCU has lost three of its last four games after the home defeat to Houston. Penalties and turnovers are dooming the Frogs. 10. Baylor Bears 2 - 4 Baylor is now 0-4 against Big 12 foes in 2024 even though the Week 2 defeat at Utah doesn't technically count as a conference loss. 11. UTSA Roadrunners 2 - 3 UTSA gets a chance to right the ship in Week 7 against Rice. The Roadrunners were idle on Saturday. 12. Rice Owls 1 - 4 The Owls had a much-needed weekend off to regroup following the Charlotte loss in Week 5. 13. UTEP Miners 0 - 5 Scotty Walden's group remains winless after five games of his tenure. The second half of the schedule is much easier than the first six games. #132 points

Hear me out. Win the next two home games and have a big home game against a maybe ranked Tulane. Everybody is excited because we have a chance to pick up a huge win and really be contenders. Lose to Tulane by 30 points in a game that was never close. Start up the fire Morris threads once again. Repeat. Would love to see a different result but I still remember a trip to Lubbock that is overlooked on this website's short-term memory.2 points

One thing we could do is lift the pride of a UNT education. I’m proud but I’m talking about representing us as world leaders, making global impact, changing lives, executing important humanitarian missions, winning national and internationally recognized awards. We are doing this in the world stage. Build the pride wins games bring all these pieces together. Watch the Mean Green Pride soar. GMG2 points

I was one that wasn’t sold on him. In the long run, good for him. Great story about a kid that made his opportunities and sold himself to teams along the way. Love it. Also, good for us. I love how C4 runs our offense and the numbers we are putting up also considering we are doing it with a stable of underclassmen at RB, outside of Porter, and an ever changing OL.2 points

Yes. No, I think after winning the past 2 games against FBS schools by 27 and 32, this team is still being underestimated. Granted this is a road game but 7.5 points (line has moved to 6.5) against a bad FAU team is a slap in the face. Or at least the players and coaches should view it as such. FAU lost to UConn 48-14 just a few weeks ago. Their only wins are against FIU (who lost to Monmouth) and Wagner. This spread should be posted in every room at the training facility as motivation. Destroy FAU. I guess you can always spin the spread as bulletin board material, sure. Just saying the players and coaches should feel disrespected after their past 2 games. I feel like running through a UNT themed wall.2 points

No slight on Chandler Rogers, but I don't think everyone would just chase the biggest money. There are players who stay because of playing situation, personal situation, love of school or even (gasp) education. So far Rogers' decision doesn't look great, but the season's not over. Diego Pavia went to Vanderbilt of all places and he must be feeling pretty damn good now, aside from an epic hangover.2 points

Haven’t seen this mentioned, but once again…… We started the season out pretty well. Got some local and national attention, to the point we were a trendy pick. “Tech better watch out!” Reece Davis on ESPN Game Day picked us as his “superdog”. We were starting to turn a corner regarding perception. And not only do we get beat, we got absolutely destroyed on national TV. Outclassed, out coached, out played and embarrassed. We were taking a few steps forward only to get hit in the face ONCE AGAIN and get launched back to what many think is our rightful place. How many people paying attention to our game vs TTech didn’t even bother to look at the schedule to see our next games much less make plans to show up. This probably happened about halfway through the 2nd quarter of that game. We are in a situation where we have no room for error. When you’re in this situation, no amount of marketing can overcome getting embarrassed like we were in Lubbock. We had our chance. Blew it. so this comment from the article: “He’s held up his end of the bargain.” depends on the lens we use and the standard we apply. if we use the standard of “holy crap it’s a miracle we’re 4-1 and we never do this” then Yes, he’s held up his end of the bargain. And yes. This start is the exception not the norm. But if we want the casual fans to show up, that standard won’t work. So if we use the standard of “we need to be ranked or pushing the top 25 and knocking on the door of the playoff. Getting national attention getting national credibility” which WILL get the casual fan to show up, then Eric Morris’s performance in Lubbock means he did NOT hold up his end of the bargain. The coach at UNT, whoever it is, cannot have it both ways.2 points

And you know this how? He graduated, entered the portal, and went to the powerhouse known as Vanderbilt. Edit to add, how is it not stealing from JUCO to FBS? By your logic, you should only go to one school. He finished what he could at a JUCO then went to an FBS school to complete his undergrad studies then he graduated and went for graduate school elsewhere. Your post reeks of hypocrisy.2 points
