  4. Jerrod told us at the tailgate last weekend that we told the conference up front that we had no interest in it. Jerrod said he had queries dozens of AD's across the country and they all said it would be a terrible deal both financially and for the student athletes. UTSA is so god damned horny for $$ that they raised their skirt up high when the Pac 12 came calling. They never received an invite only moderate interest which they reciprocated AGAINST the wishes of Pernetti by the way. Now you could make the argument that we should have been more open to what they had to offer but it was a business decision to be loyal to the conference and the new commissioner at this time.

  5. We've got a chance to make a serious move up that list each over the next 4 games. And every win will get us more visibility. Can this team PLEASE not be another mirage, continue to improve, and take advantage of the opportunity instead of sh%%ing the bed once we get national attention. PLEASE!!!! Give us something even close to that absolutely magical experience of winning the NIT.

  6. No they are not, but again not surprised seeing the OP of the post. UTEP fits in MWC, who is now much weaker.

  7. They're in CUSA. You left CUSA a couple of years ago.

  9. Holy crap. I had a flashback to us being in CUSA with UTEP. Judy was our commissioner. Our games were on Stadium right after American 7s football games attended only by player's moms.

  11. The question wasn't "Who is the better quarterback?" The question was "Who ya got?"

  12. If true, I feel better about the direction of our program and our leadership. I still think you should always listen to an offer before saying no but I can respect this position.

  13. Without looking up everyone else's scores, #12 sounds pretty good to me. We have a bad loss, and we don't have a true quality win.

  14. I'd much rather our play on the field do the talking. We have the opportunity to beat Memphis, Tulane, and UTSA this season. Let's seize the moment and the national pundits will do the talking. GMG.

  25. Morris is the better quarterback and everyone sees it, whether they want to admit it or not. The discourse here is terrible. Fine being here for four years or Morris being here for potentially just one is irrelevant to who is the better quarterback. Same for bowl wins. I know we really want one badly, but there are a lot of variables to winning a bowl game outside of how good the QB is. Who is better at playing the position? Fine being here for four years or being a great story doesn’t factor into that determination. Morris has him beat in terms of pocket presence, accuracy, arm strength, and ability to read a defense. We can wait to crown Morris until the season is over, but he is better as a QB than Fine. Hopefully he plays up to his ability the rest of the way, because if he doesn’t then it’ll just be a wasted opportunity for this team and program. I fully expect him to keep it up though.

  27. Just curious, what kind of statement are you looking for? Any kind of statement I can think of under the circumstances other than "we're all committed to the AAC" sounds to me like a desperate cry for attention.

  29. The athletic director from Tulane has now came out and confirmed that Tulane, Memphis, South Florida, and UTSA did have conversations amongst themselves about the potential to move to the PAC. Outside of the "we're all committed to the AAC" it is clear now that, as we always hate to hear, we have been left behind and are not considered in the upper tier of desirable schools in the conference despite supposedly representing the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex market. Should the powers that be publicly addressed this issue to the supporters of North Texas Athletics?

  30. So do you think Tarleton State is as well?

  31. Wow. I think memory is taking it's toll on some people (Fine). I know jilted-lover syndrome is (Rogers). Also, some of y'all are basically crowning CMorris (oddly enough, some of y'all based on his High School rating of all things?) after playing 5 games, 4 of which were against some pretty crappy teams... the other one, VS a good (not great) TXTech in which CMorris had a HORRIBLE game. I'm talking QBR of 9.1! (this, lower than Fine's first-ever start as a true Freshman in the Swamp VS a ranked Florida team, where he threw for only 66 yds.) Y'all may want to do 3 things here: 1) Review Mason Fine's statistics, and maybe re-watch some of his highlights. I can't believe someone would call his pocket presence, or playing under pressure into question if you were in the house for "The Drive". 2) Review Chandler Rogers' statistics (missing 1/10 of a season twiddling his thumbs on the bench to start the season), and maybe re-watch some of his highlights. I can't help but think his departure is factoring into many of y'all's opinion of him & his play while here. He made a stupid decision, and should still be here. 3) Wait to crown CMorris until he lasts longer in Green than CRogers, and plays decently against the likes of Memphis, Tulane, & Army. If he can do this, maybe he can move up the ladder. As of right now, I "got": 1. Fine 2. Rogers 3. Morris

  33. Morris looks to be the best QB, but I have trouble saying someone is the best UNT QB if they only play here for one year and then leave. If he comes back next year, then he gets the title.

  34. Love how Morris throws it to either protect our players, or he throws towards the open field. If it’s towards the open field, the players catch it with an opportunity to go up field. It’s really impressive to watch!

  38. Seeing Sam Houston ranked ahead is a special kind of hurt since I'm a local boy who always considered them some rinky dink college. School probably has less money to spend on sports than I spend on takeout. Yeesh.

  40. It's nice to know AD's of other schools are making decisions for our future without some due diligence on our own. How do they know what's in our best interests? You never know who you may need to call on for a favor or how things are going to shake out in the future. Why reject it out of hand when you can politely listen to what they have to say and then let them know it's not a good fit for us if it turns out that way.

  41. I've never watched a game where the other team is visibly physically superior in almost ever position but they just kept getting beat. Bad, bad times in Tallahassee. Even their visiting fans were defeated before the game even started. TCU fans were vastly more energized even though the FSU fans tons of WT trashy potential. They were cordial, even.
