  2. Last week’s unis were my favorite since we debuted the icy white. Put the son of worm of the helmet and it’d be uniform nirvana for me. I don’t care much for the all black or gray unis. They look cool in these photo op spreads for social media, but bland in person and on tv in game. Obviously, the point is to look cool on social media, so I guess I can live with it for one week.

  3. I have an idea ... we could try having offense AND defense. I know, mind-blowing!! Filing a patent application now!

  4. It's time to make the players officially employees. Sign a binding contract, hire an agent, pay taxes on you salary, and if another school wants your player, you have to trade for them. And a hard salary cap across the board. That is the only way to make it fair at this point.

  6. So college keeps getting more and more expensive while the product they're supposed to be providing is getting worse and worse. This has to crumble eventually right? https://fortune.com/2024/09/26/bosses-firing-gen-z-grads-months-after-hiring/ Three-quarters of the companies surveyed said some or all of their recent graduate hires were unsatisfactory in some way. Gen Z grads “unprepared and unprofessional” So, where is it going wrong for fresh-faced graduates? Employers’ gripe with young people today is their lack of motivation or initiative—50% of the leaders surveyed cited that as the reason why things didn’t work out with their new hire. Bosses also pointed to Gen Z being unprofessional, unorganized and having poor communication skills as their top reasons for having to sack grads.

  7. I am pretty sure they do not allow NIL deals. Found this -- The Pentagon won't allow service academies to participate in NIL. They also. don't use the transfer portal to obtain players.

  8. The sooner this happens, the sooner the boosters can go back to making their under-the-table payments. There will always be those who will feel the need to break any rules put in place.

  9. It is spectacular. If you don't have a reservation, you will be disappointed. Some time ago, the reservations were booked months in advance. Not exactly the place you can pop-in and pop-out. If you do - enjoy the goodness.

  10. Black uniforms look amazing and get plenty of buzz. The greys are just awful, plus pretty sure they are cursed. 👻

  11. Thank you, Coach Morris, for the Air Raid defense. Hopefully, he will change his ways ...... North Texas ranks 119th in touchdowns allowed, and although the Mean Green have a dynamic and versatile offense capable of challenging defenses in multiple ways, they also have an "outscore, rather than defend" approach to winning games.

  13. Hedlund founded the UNT women's soccer program in 1995 and has been its only head coach. He has led the Mean Green to 16 conference championships and has ha zero losing seasons. Only six coaches in NCAA Women's Soccer history have accomplished 400 victories at one school.

  15. Coach Saban just had a great segment on this and he’s right, you have to move NIL back to the AD’s. That is the only way you can manage this monster and keep the playing field fair. This won’t change that Texas and A&M will have gigantic NIL budgets but it will at least provide some oversight and clarity to what has become a mess. It also removes the states from trying to advantage their flagships but enacting state laws that are more lax than the NCAA etc. Saban has been a good ambassador for the sport in this dark chapter he is bringing a beacon of hope.

  16. Really stinks that this is going head to head vs the georgia/alabama game at the same time UNT gets the big screen and Georgia gets the baby screen (baby still being 65")

  17. This may be 2024 but I would say like in 1984 please show me where one player has said they attended a school or transferred out of the school due to either the uniforms they wear or not changing them up enough.

  18. My final uni thoughts forever (probably not): You get one throwback, one “fun” option, then the rest of the year you run with your defaults. And always run default when on national TV.

  19. So right on brand? The Warhawk was a semi-finalist of an online poll available to students, faculty and alumni. The poll was narrowed down to three. The final decision was left to the president, James E. Cofer Sr., who chose Warhawks. He chose Warhawks over Bayou Gators and Bayou Hawks. In August 2006, ULM debuted its new mascot, Ace. Nick Munn, a sophomore history major from Bossier City, is intrigued by where the idea for the ULM mascot came from “There was a squadron of fighter pilots in World War II named the Warhawks,” Munn said. The Warhawk was chosen to honor Major General Claire Lee Chennault, a war hero who lived in Franklin Parish as a child. He commanded a group called the American Volunteer group (AVG) during World War II. The men called themselves the “Flying Tigers” but flew in planes called Curtiss P-40 Warhawks. During the war, the men were credited with 299 enemy aircraft destroyed, including 229 in the air during the war. Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, located near the Monroe Airport, features historical exhibits about Chennault and the men who flew with him. Admission into the museum is free, and it is open five days a week. https://ulmhawkeyeonline.com/1458/feature-stories/warhawk-is-more-than-mascot-part-of-history/

  23. With UTSA seemingly a bigger candidate for realignment than us, I thought it'd be interesting to keep up with our record against them in 2024-25 as a program. Before postseason, we're scheduled to play them 10 times in 6 sports this year. We won Game 1 tonight.

  24. I see it almost every shift. Parents don't know how to be parents, then call us to come correct the behavior, or because they want us to lecture the kids, or they don't know what to do, etc. And on the rare occasion that the parents are strict, the kids call 911 because "their rights are being violated"

  28. I see it a little differently…. 1) Athlete notices our uniform on X/Instagram 2) Notices North Texas is 3-1 3) Recognizes North Texas when we reach out Kind of the 2 million views of the Stone Cold Celebration It’s eyeballs on North Texas. It doesn’t work if we’re losing. Winning is the key.

  30. I agree. I think of a "blackout" as a one-time, special occasion (though it seems to me it should be around Halloween), and I'm all for it. The throwback is fun once a year as well. The rest of the year, give me all green or all white. Those are our two best looks. Honestly, I didn't realize how much I like the all green until last Saturday. AND, it really is a statement look for a team called the Mean Green. Today I'm going to enjoy the blackout uniform and hopefully the victory over Tulsa. If we wear black again, I'll bitch like I usually do:)

  31. I can get on board with this. *2004 Script, Flying Worm, or other throwback alternate yearly *All Black once a year…maybe twice *Our Beautiful green/white combos the rest of the year

  37. Go for it as long s they work with our colors an our current logos. That's fine, get creative. What needs to be avoided are concocted or obsolete logos and weird alternate colors. We need to stop competing with ULM for strangest irrelevant costumes.

  38. This is what I see, too. Recruits and pages with a large number of followers interact with our “laundry” tweets. This weeks unis are currently being voted as best blackout uniforms. Last weeks uniforms were named best uniforms in college football. It matters to the kids.

  40. Teachers get the impact also. Too many "parents" never say "no" and then go after teachers if they tell them their child is not as great as they think they are and try to tell people they (the teachers) are the problems. A lot of good young teachers are leaving the profession.

  41. Agree with building our Brand instead of our closets. Uni changes are fun for the athletes, but I think it confuses viewers new to us. We are not Oregon just yet to be able to pull this off...every week something different.

  42. I'm sure I'll get an "okay, Boomer" jab for this, but I agree that you should at least be able to talk to the people sitting right next to you at the game. This isn't an f'n bar/club on Greenville an hour before closing time. Does anybody have any experience with contacting the AD via email to know whether it actually gets to him or if an intern simply moves it into the trash folder? I would like to send an email that points out the GOOD things that are being done as well as the bad ones, but if it's worthless, then I won't waste the time. Here's the email address if anybody else is interested: Athletic.Director@unt.edu

  43. I don't mind the DJ. The problem is that the volume is literally too fking loud. I should be able to talk to the person next to me about the game. My ears shouldn't bleed when I go to take a piss because the volume is at full blast in the bathroom. We should be able to strike a balance between the band and the DJ.
