I think these uniforms look š„ Last week we go all green, this week all black. Ain't no way anyone will recognize us as the same team from the Texas Tech blowout. Brilliant.9 points

Iām watching the Temple vs Army game. Instead of worrying about uniforms, colors, and fonts, we need to focus on how handle what appear to be two very tough opponents. BTW, I plan on attending the Army game this year. If anyone wants me to sign their game program let me know. DeepGreen will sign your game program for $50.00. Cash. It would be a great Christmas gift for someone in your family. š6 points

I think its fun to have different looks at home games. However if you are trying to build a brand I think for road games and especially those televised you should pick a look and stay with it.4 points

Was this the same kid that got his GF pregnant when he was a freshman and had to drop off the team?4 points

Watching Texas State fans on Twitter turn their noses up at MWC has been a sight. Guys, y'all have been somewhat relevant for about 1 year out of the last 40. Stay in your lane.4 points

Mean Green should be on the uniform, an eagle or something should be on the helmet. Do not like the script on the helmet. Otherwise I like the unis.4 points

Big thanks to GreenJoe for my beautiful plastic souvenir cup! I can guarantee you that it will provide transport for nourishing liquids to keep me hydrated for the years ahead!4 points

I've never been a fan of the script on the helmet, but this is a new take that looks good. I still don't want it, but I'll admit that this looks good on the black helmets. I do like the consistency we've shown with the uniforms with the double stripe on the sleeve, although that appears to be a common look that a lot of teams have this year.4 points

How AAC held on to four schools Tim Pernetti had been through it before and knew what to expect. The first-year American Athletic Conference commissioner pulled off a major coup earlier this week when his conference held on to Memphis, South Florida, Tulane and UTSA despite Pac-12 overtures that became very public. It's obviously uncomfortable when another conference has eyes on your prized schools. The AAC has been on the receiving end of that dilemma multiple times. In just the last two years, the AAC lost Central Florida, Cincinnati, Houston and SMU to Power Fove conferences. How'd Pernetti hold off the Pac-12? It started with using his experience guiding Rutgers to the Big Ten as the school's athletic director to lay out to his conference exactly what would happen behind the scenes during the process. Pernetti, who probably deserves a statue for maneuvering Rutgers well above its weight class into the Big Ten, had the real-life experience to accurately presage what was to come once it became clear the Pac-12 would look eastward after grabbing Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Diego State from the Mountain West. Pernetti was candid, stressed the Pac-12's projected TV rights numbers weren't anywhere close to concrete and earned trust in the room for his direct approach, according to multiple sources. How a conference commissioner handles a high-stress situation ā and whether the conference members still have faith in the leadership ā can have a major impact on realignment decisions. Just look at what happened to the Pac-12 more than a year ago for proof. In the end, Pernetti, who is aggressively trying to position the AAC moving forward, passed the test. Four in-demand schools decided they'd rather stick with what they knew than leave for promises of greener pastures out west. "I'd never bet against Tim," said one industry source familiar with the situation. "He's a very talented, smart guy." https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/insider-notebook-alabama-georgia-mega-preview-what-mack-browns-telling-recruits-how-aac-rebuffed-pac-12/3 points

He wasn't wrong to turn down a lousy financial deal with the PAC. But his tone is more like "we're only in the AAC until we get a promotion...and we deserve it". After getting smacked down by Navy maybe he should appreciate being a little more humble.3 points

Nothing says we're one big happy conference like 2 members getting 2x more money than the other 4 (ignoring Hawaii as a partial member). I'm sure this will make for some fun/cordial conference meetings.3 points

Yeah let's hope we never have an AD that does nothing but put the universities interest first and wants to be the best they can be. Even worse if he puts pressure on the coaches to perform at the highest levels.3 points

In this NIL era, there will be a lack of loyalty to the schools. How about removing the last names on jerseys? Or, exchange them with Mean Green instead?3 points

Those look great from a purely visual standpoint, the clean design of this year's uniform makes the green really pop. The only thing I don't like is the script on the helmet, and the odd/ironic choice of it saying "Mean Green" while wearing black. Wings logo on a black helmet would have looked better to me.3 points

So all they are is a name.....I don't see the allure of joining the "PAC" conference. Are the going to have more TV revenue than the AAC has? why would they? Oregon State and Boise St have a lot of eyeballs on TV at 10:00pm CST? That was always a big complaint of the REAL Pac 12 teams that left. Is this new conference gonna have pictures of USC, Oregon and UCLA in their pitch deck to TV execs? They're no longer there. It's a PAC name with MWC teams. Why would anyone pay $27 million in exit fees and increase their travel expenses to go join that league that doesn't even have a revenue model yet? Maybe someone smarter than me can explain this conference's sales pitch to potential new members...If the pitch is "USC used to be here." There's not much of a pitch.....3 points

Hedlund founded the UNT women's soccer program in 1995 and has been its only head coach. He has led the Mean Green to 16 conference championships and has ha zero losing seasons. Only six coaches in NCAA Women's Soccer history have accomplished 400 victories at one school.2 points

Army had 7 sacks tonight with 7 different players. They also rushed for 417 yds and put up 42 points on Temple to go 4-0. I'm not looking forward to playing Army with our run defense.2 points

The lack of a written agreement was dumb. But there may be communications that left a paper trail about the offer, such as voicemails, emails and so on. That assistant coach's emails are subject to FOIA requests so the media could be digging into them. After throwing for 5,913 yards and 59 touchdowns and running for 3,583 yards and 38 touchdowns in four seasons at Holy Cross, Sluka is unlikely to have transferred to UNLV without the incentive of an NIL payday.2 points

To be fair, this is not a PR issue. This is an issue of winning football games. Winning is what elevates programs into the national consciousness. PR teams just spreads the good news. UNT hasn't done a good enough job winning and providing the PR team with good news to share. The attached image shows the most wins by G5 schools in the past 5 years. It was made this past offseason so I updated the list, 4 weeks into the 2024 season: 1. Liberty - 51 wins 2. App State - 49 wins 3. Ragin Cajuns - 48 wins 4. Costal Carolina - 47 wins 5. Memphis - 46 wins 6. UTSA - 45 wins (2 Conference championships and 1 bowl win) 7. Air Force - 44 wins 7. Boise St - 44 wins 9. WKU - 43 wins 10. Tulane - 40 wins 11. Troy - 39 wins UNT - 29 wins (0 Conference championships and 0 bowl wins)2 points

UTSA kinda' resembles A&M's start in the SEC. Their timing was perfect, in that they had Johnny Manziel for their first two seasons. He helped them have initial success, but once he was gone, they were back to a middle of the pack team.2 points
