The PA is so loud it drowns out everything. The band can't even be heard. At the Wyoming game the student section tried to get the "North" "Texas" chant started, but the PA killed it. 27,000 fans (okay, maybe 24,000) didn't get to enjoy the full game experience. When are fans have the opportunity to get loud they can get very loud. See "the Stand" against Rice. Or the North Texas chant against UTEP. We need that level of fan engagement at our games, not an overly loud PA.12 points

Band was pretty loud to me. The bigger issue is gameday ops trying to force the NORTH! TEXAS! chant. It's better as an organic chant. Plus, they werent even directing which side says what. Idk why its so hard for them to understand that.10 points

Haven't heard anything.....but the Cowboys have two DBs (Carson, Bell) who are doubtful tonight. Hoping that maybe Kemon gets pulled up from the PS today.9 points

I think these uniforms look 🔥 Last week we go all green, this week all black. Ain't no way anyone will recognize us as the same team from the Texas Tech blowout. Brilliant.5 points

I don't care if the uniforms are black, white, green or a mix of all three. Just WIN!5 points

Just my humble opinion, and I know it’s not necessarily the popular one here, but I think the AAC should go ahead and invite Texas State. Get them before the MWC does.4 points

It seems like a case of both conferences positioning themselves up front, knowing that this was going to happen. The Mountain West had these big penalties because they knew even though they were helping out the pack in the short term, the pack would turn around and try to screw them over. The pac, from the beginning, knew what they had planned and agreed to anything already planned in advance to claim duress if and when the time came. I hope the PAC is forced to pay everything they committed to. This is not a contract that was signed years ago. This was signed very recently, and now the pac wants walk away from its commitment.4 points

It also means UNLV doesn't have to go into a meeting where questions about their coaches offering $100k NIL deals could be asked and their answers potentially subject to subpoena!4 points

Agreed, why can't they turn down the volume and play some music that EVERYBODY loves??4 points

Took my daughter to a fireworks show years back. Had to leave early because the music was too loud and painful. This absolutely needs to be addressed because she won't go back after that4 points

You know this, I know this and probably everyone the frequents gomeangreen.com knows this. The problem is, no one else does. UTSA was somehow able to get itself included in the conversation. It doesn't matter how or even if they were ever in the conversation in the first place, they did it and we did not. Stories get picked up by rando journalists and it gets amplified. I've read many sports news articles in various newspapers and they all seemed to include UTSA as a target. Now, even after the three others said no and the dust has started to settle, the "American4" as they are now sometimes referred have be described as the next 4 in line for the call up. KMN. Smoke and mirrors on UTSA's part? Perhaps, but they are now firmly embedded in the psyche of sports journalists who covered this story and who will likely continue to tout them as a viable candidate in future realignment discussions. Kudos to UTSA for pulling this off. Masterful. Who knows maybe they just stumbled their way into it, but here we are.4 points

Those look great from a purely visual standpoint, the clean design of this year's uniform makes the green really pop. The only thing I don't like is the script on the helmet, and the odd/ironic choice of it saying "Mean Green" while wearing black. Wings logo on a black helmet would have looked better to me.3 points
-
I'm not a fan, but then again, I wouldn't say I like our need to be a part of the new Uniform of the Week club. Joke all you want to about "Mean Green", but we have wasted that opportunity over the years, probably even more than the lost opportunities when Dodge was hired.3 points

The feedback from the PA and the Ref mics is awful at times. It's only been that way for 15 years. I guess they don't care.3 points

They are going to have to get rid of the redshirt rule. Redshirts are a relic of the past when programs needed to develop players. Why do you need to develop players when you can just find a developed player in the portal? You get four years to play college football and the clock starts when you step foot on campus. No medical redshirts either. If we are FOR inclusion, then this will give more opportunities to more players.3 points

Agreed that was awful, they used to have cheerleaders on each side with north and Texas signs to start it that’s way better.3 points

Hell, I just want size and resistance against an offense.3 points

I recommend everyone watch this conference. There was a big emphasis on the change in defense. Morris had praise for it and didn't mention Craponi once. I feel like this change was not Caphony. Even Chavez at the end of the video was excited about it saying the whole defense is pretty excited about it. I am not saying this will be a world beating defense, as it hasn't really been tested yet, but with the way it has given them confidence, dare I say we might be able to get some turnovers???3 points

For once the scheduling gods have been favorable for us. We handled Tulsa last year on the road. If we are able to replicate that at home this weekend then we get a down FAU before we run the gauntlet of Memphis, Tulane and Army. Those three games will tell us a lot about this year's squad. Throw the record books out when it comes to UTSA. ECU has been down but seems to be righting the ship (no pun intended), then we wrap up against a weak Temple team.3 points

I feel if we play as we did against Wyoming especially if we get some players back we should be at Tulsa by about 38 to 14. we just need to come out of the gate and shove the ball down their throat and don't let up. Go Mean Green beat Tulsa.2 points

Not sure what to think at the point. This SR draft analyst for barstool says UNLV players are not on Sluka's side and tweets I'm seeing support that. Next question is are they just upset he bailed on them or is there some dishonesty on his side. There's more but I won't post all. It's all available on Twitter through a bit of searching.2 points

This was $100K at a middle of the road at best G5... How many of these are 5x, 10x that amount at P4 conferences. There are more out there going through the same thing....this will become a common story. What a mess2 points

Guess my question was asked based on the RB's tweet. Shame on UNLV.2 points

See I'm all for the players getting paid, though the system needs actual structure, but this is dangerous. If nothing is in writing, how do we know if the player is being honest? Maybe he misunderstood? I am not in favor of players deciding they've been wronged without evidence and then holding the honesty and reputation of a school hostage. I'm curious if any other UNLV players feel like the QB does.2 points

I remember we missed a lot of layups and shot terrible from the floor. We wouldn't have beaten them with JR and their size up front but it should have been a 10 point game. Loved Jimmy Gales! Fun memories. Thanks for posting.2 points

Yeah, that looks like 9-3 if things go really well which rarely happens. So, throw in an additional loss and we're at 8-4. We HAVE TO WIN the bowl game or play a really good game against a much better team. The former gets us to 9-4 which isn't too bad, especially if this includes improvements in the defense along the way. I'm assuming 2 conf losses keeps us out of the championship game.2 points

Another good reason to eliminate the whole redshirt concept. College is/should be a four year experience. Yes, I realize that it may be difficult, but that's the goal. You get 4 years to play 4 years, no exceptions. Whether you set foot on the field or not, it's one of your eligibility years. The vast majority of college football players will never sniff a pro contract. Completing their college education and getting a degree in their chosen field will likely be the most important thing they do to secure financial stability for their entire lives. Play football (or whatever sport you choose) if you have the skill to do so, have fun, make life long friends, maybe meet your spouse, get an education/degree and get on with your life.2 points

Our 'new" 3-4 is on film now, so give the Blues one scoring drive, one long home run play, one random score and a field goal. The offense continues doing NT Offense things, so 45-24.2 points

Barring the return of the 3-3-5, I’ll go with 45 to 17 Mean Green.2 points

It's a good feeling, but it's against a winless team and after the Tech curb stomping I'm not ready to drink the kool-aid. Let's see how next week goes then I'll take a sip.2 points
