We didn't run the 3-3-5 a single play tonight. We were primarily in a 3-4 front. Lots of man in the secondary. We did run some nickel, but it was 4-2-5 with the extra DB being an extra corner. And we finally stopped the run. Coincidence? I think not. Don't know who made the change, but it gives me hope.24 points

If you were told in July we would start 3-1 with a beat down in Lubbock, I think 95% of us would take that in a second. We have 8 winnable games left. Memphis showed their ass yesterday losing to Navy. I predicted 8-4…..looks doable this morning.20 points

Good game fellas… our QB is atrocious. If this staff and our AD keep their jobs one second after the season is over we won’t have a program left next year. Just embarrassing.14 points

Congrats players and coaches on a nice win against a MWC foe. Wyoming may be down this year, but it’s not like they mailed it in. We controlled the game and it was never really in doubt. Enjoy this one and get healthy.12 points

Having two weeks to prepare for Army's option.......should be huge. Memphis couldn't handle Navy's y'day.....12 points

The effort they put into selling this game should be the expected effort for every game.12 points

As Aztec always says... My coffee tasted better this morning, the kids are easier to handle and the day is just better after a mean green win11 points

PC is a miracle worker as RB coach. All three of these guys looked great. I'll post their bios.....if you haven't ever read them. Kiefer Sibley #21....my fave play of the whole game....was his block that sprung DT Sheffield on that long TD run. You seldom see a non OL guy....pancake someone. I mentioned Sibley's high school stats earlier this year. You'll be blown away....if you've never read his bio. https://meangreensports.com/sports/football/roster/kiefer-sibley/661310 points

If the FCS school you’re referring to is Idaho, I am certain fans of Oregon (#9 in the country going into yesterday) still wonder how they struggled to put that now 3-1 FCS team away And did I mention that Idaho beat Abilene Christian? The same ACU that was a 2-point conversion away from beating Tech in OT10 points

Maybe Morris getting embarrassed in front of his old Tech buddies did the trick to wake him up? Whatever it took, I just hope we don’t revert back.10 points

And we’ve got FAU after the bye week so 5-1 heading into Memphis is a very real possibility. BUT it’s one game at a time so today we enjoy the feeling of a good win and a 3-1 start. Tomorrow, we get ready for Tulsa.9 points

Morris stated in his post game interview that it was agreed upon that they would put their best eleven men on defense. Depth at LB dictated that.9 points

Cobbs is a great coach! His guys are ready to play, not just carrying the ball but blocking & picking up blitzes .8 points

We may have found the silver lining in the humiliating loss to Tech. Sometimes an old-fashioned ass whoop'n is what's needed to humble someone and inspire change.8 points

We play who’s on the schedule. The goal is to win as many as you can no matter how ugly it looks. Believe me, I complained about the ugly win against SFA. I found myself wanting to give anything for an ugly win against Tech. This is a good start for the team. Hopefully, they can be even better moving forward with getting Gabe Blair back, acclimating to more 3-4 type defense. Very happy EM made a coaching decision to change up from the 3-3-5. It takes guts to realize what’s wrong and finally switch it up.8 points

Did I hear correctly? Morris mentioned on the post game that they incorporated an extra LB, so more of a 3-4. I'm going to rewatch the game and keep an eye out on this.7 points

Defense appeared to line up 4 on the line some (OLB). That allowed Shipley to pass rush more. I’ll be happy if they continue with this alignment, or at least have more of it. It’ll be easier to set the edge that way and allows for more bodies closer to the LOS. Great job only giving up 10 points.7 points

Thanks. Good fans and I’ve appreciated the banter. You guys are decent I think but it’s hard to tell because we are inept offensively and a shadow of what we were a year ago defensively. I have no words for this Wyoming team.7 points

I didn’t make one excuse. Just pointed out your constant negativity. You be you. It must be a joyous existence.7 points

We’re up 10 at half. The defense is only responsible for giving up ten of their 17 points. Their long TD was just after we lost our best safety to injury. We have the opportunity to start this year 3-1. We get the ball to start the third quarter and can go up 17. Try looking for some positives once in a while.7 points

Does not appear likely but shout out to the AD for trying to make it happen! Reconfigure the website and try again for Tulane or Army!7 points

I look forward to seeing @aztecskinor @BillySee58 do a little breakdown of what we were seeing out there. A couple of times it looked like three down lineman with a standup edge rusher (#9). Was that that my imagination? I assume it was because most of this board was in the stands at the game?6 points

It appears we did. Maybe Odum is the new guy running the D and we have reassigned Caponi. I don't know any of that, but the D looked a lot better playing 3-4 than they did playing 3-3-5. I don't know who made the change, but it was for the better. If we continue with that look, the guys should get much better as they get more comfortable in that scheme.6 points

Stats that tell the story of the game, in my opinion: 1- 244 yards | Wyoming’s total offense 2- 69 yards | Wyoming’s yards rushing 4- 4-4 | UNT’s 4th Down efficiency 5- 0 | turnovers for either team AND Wyoming points in the second half 6- 4-6 | Wyoming 2nd half possessions that ended in 3 and outs; 1 of the other two was 4 plays 7- 120 | Porter’s rushing yardage in his first career staft6 points

Wait. This is a great sentiment but did someone hack your account and post 19 times in this live game thread? If so, you should change your password ASAP.6 points

I stopped reading the board during the games. I check in at halftime and afterwards. Too many people living on every single play. I love roller coasters but this one makes my head spin.6 points

Defense has three 3 and outs in a row. My goodness, I think I could walk on and Cobbs could make me into a RB. My favorite play of the game is still Sibley’s pancake.6 points

Is it just me or did Sides run away from his blockers on that 3rd and 10 screen? He was trying to beat 1 guy to the edge but there were 2 defenders to 1 blocker where he ran to. Had he cut it in, he had 3 blockers to 1 defender...6 points
