Can we please stop obsessing over SMU? We aren’t even conference mates after the single season we spent with them and we won’t be playing them anytime in the foreseeable future. They mean absolutely nothing to us as a program. Why oh why does their name continuously come up on this site??

I honestly saw -11 and I assumed it was BYU -11 then I saw SMU -11 man…..it’s so typical of that program. They got a fancy new patch on their jersey and all the money. But there’s still no substance. They barely beat one of the worst teams in FBS and then just got beat at home as double digit favorites. At home with what sounded like 50/50 BYU fans. But they can tout their attendance. Nevermind half the stadium wasn’t there to cheer for them. And They are such a “sexy” pick this year in their “P4” conference. Even though there’s really no substantive reason for it. They Bought their patch but underneath it same ole SMU. Embarrassing

The first Green Light Gala was last night (f) at the IDF. I’m told it was a sellout and by what I saw, it was. I had a great time. Lots of Mean Green friends and pretty ladies dressed up. There were plenty of North Texas items to bid on as well as trips and adult beverages. The announcement was made that over $360,000 was raised last night. I misspoke earlier in my original post. Thanks to MeanGreen22. Money went to athletic dept. Regardless, it was a good time with good friends.

For what it's worth, I was at the Walmart on University tonight as they were closing, and all the store employees were basically at the cash registers. I would say 95% of them were college students and they were all talking about going to the game. I heard one girl ask what time was the game and another said 6:30 and they all said oh I will be there. Hopefully, there are multiple students across campus saying the same thing.

I agree about the students. I think there will be a great showing from them. The Maniacs have turned a corner this summer. It's proven by the fact that women's soccer was standing room only for a game on August 15th - before the school year even started.

What’s funny is BYU did their damndest to give SMUt the ballgame and they couldn’t take it! Why did BYU keep punting it with 4th and inches? Also why did SMUt pull Stone? Jennings is horrible!
