  1. How bout we try putting out a sustained winning product for a change and see what happens?

  2. I listed this in the Tickets For Sale forum, but just in case some don't see it...

  3. Are you kidding me? Its freaking FIU! No way he should have played so bad with these stats, see below. Earle - 2 int, only 1 touchdown, 50% completion Rogers - 0 ints, 3 touchdowns, 73% completion Rogers starts this game, we would have won period.

  4. This is a big job requiring lots of organizational skills...very underappreciated. Thanks to the equipment manager and his team! Those behind the scenes contribute so much without much acknowledgement. Thanks to UNT Football for sharing this.

  6. They’re about the only exception to this in FBS. I also don’t care about those other programs. I care about North Texas and that’s it. My point is you’re saying that we make all kinds of excuses for struggling with attendance - I’m pointing out the obvious and ONLY reason/excuse that matters in regards to this. We haven’t and don’t win at a consistent enough level to warrant it. Almost all G5 programs have pretty poor support overall, so I agree with you there. Having 3,000 extra fans a game inside the stadium last year wouldn’t have made a difference in the W-L record. Doesn’t matter if we all cheer extra hard. Blaming the UNT fanbase that exists and supports this mess throughout the years is ridiculous. We don’t hire the bad coaches or play the games. But I do support $$$ and consume the largely poor product.

  7. I think we all want to see our team get off to a fast start on offense and defense. If the defense swarms to the ball early, I think that will be a good sign. I'm also hoping Morris gives our big-leg kicker a shot at one of those 70+ yard field goals he's posted on X. Not that I want us to need such an attempt. I just want to see him try it in a game.

  8. So no examples. Got it. I’m tired of excuses too. But the ones I’m tired of are the lack of performance on the field, poor coaching, choking big moments away, ect. Others get it done with way less. Sick of blaming our fans who may be the some of the clearest examples of sports masochism you’ll ever encounter.

  14. But back to THIS game. I'm really excited to watch this game...I think it's a 50/50 game and will come down to the little things. Does Eric Morris have this thing headed in the right direction in his 2nd year? I will feel really good if we win Saturday, its a game that could go either way and maybe SA is a slight favorite...which means maybe we have to play just a little better than them to win it. We have not done that a lot in a game like this the past several years... I hope to see us turn the corner in a game like this.

  16. NIL is a huge topic of conversation at my house, from the forming of light the tower, to the transition of light the tower to linkU, to the formation of Mean Green Collective, to now personal stuff we are doing to support. NIL looks nothing like it did 3 years ago, and as I sit here right now it will look nothing like it does today a year from now. The way that it is and will be administered is so fluid that you never really know what the rules are. In the beginning the big schools just did whatever they wanted, and schools like us (donors and supporters) tried desperately to follow the rules. In the end the rules just shifted to what the big schools (cheating in the beginning) were doing. Bottom line is this. We all need to participate in any way we can with NIL to stay competitive. With this revenue sharing thing that is on the senate floor as we speak coming in January, no one really knows what next year will bring. I don't like these one year "contracts" with the players. It's just awful. Nobody wants to throw money at something knowing there is basically zero chance of that thing staying around. But that is what is in front of us right now. I have to think that at some point we will get back to a model of at least 2 seasons and maybe the sit out "redshirt" thing again if transfer. We will see. As of now, I am supporting NIL any way I can. I will be putting a team in the tournament and I encourage some of you to do the same.

  17. As the first comment states, why are we not using a Peterbilt. They are right down the road and should be a major sponsor.

  19. It wasn't Rogers that lost it, it was the defense. Rogers vastly outplayed Earle in the game. That's why he became starter and Earle transferred again... North Texas Passing Chandler Rogers vs FIU C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR 11/15 201 13.4 2 0 91.2

  21. we're in Mean Green land, where elated with loss and despairing over victories is also possible and, in fact, highly likely.

  22. We had a very good QB last year, and only 17k came to the games.

  23. That's the key phrase. And history says Chandler won't be healthy the entire season. Based on comments made by Coach Morris, there's going to be a lot of uncertainty once we have to reach for a backup. Wish we still had Stone to provide more of a known quantity at backup.

  24. Unfortunately, it’s the students that don’t come to the games. The west side where fans like me sit is usually 3/4’s full at every game. I do hope that changes consistently and soon.

  25. Trying to find what he said that was so offensive...? Are y'all talking about his comment about fans not coming to games? 'Tis true. UNT's attendance avg last season: 17,761 Marshall: 23,198 I dunno about y'all, but 6K more fans/gm is pretty noticeable. Sadly, we pulled less than the season average against our "biggest rival". That said, I hope he gets to play there, but he wasn't going to see the field here as long as Chandler is healthy.

  41. So true! My interest is lower this year than any other. They took the fun away. I have better things I can do with my time.

  42. Without a doubt, the #1 thing sapping my interest this year...even though we're benefitting, ourselves, from pulling from the lower divisions. The business side of the sport taking over front and center is what all the talking head media people have wanted for years, but not the overwhelming majority of the actual fans of the sport. When business takes over, the fun runs out.
