You guys have had teams like Texas Tech, Texas A$M, Baylor, Okie State and heck TCU every other year. It's not a fair comparison. The best team we have ever had at home is Cal, Indiana and Houston? We've got 30 in our group coming from all over. Will it be just you or is your better half joining as well? I can add more people to our group for the same $13/ticket price. Where are y'all coming from? Feel free to PM me.4 points

Chance to see the program that has won more conference titles than any other sport play two SEC teams at home this weekend! A lot of new faces for the Mean Green with more than half the roster being underclassmen! OU- Thursday 7pm: Very athletic, size, speed and coming off of a 1-0 win last week beating the #6 ranked team in the nation Nebraska. Alabama- Saturday 7pm: Just two years ago Alabama reached the final four in the NCAA Tournament, last year finished 4th in the SEC! Still a solid core with great transfer additions including two that came over from UNC! Alabama comes in ranked nationally top 20 preseason poll! Should be two great games and a great early test for a very young but talented Mean Green team! Exciting!3 points

When you bring in Tech, TCU, A&M, and sometimes Baylor you're going to have good attendance.3 points

I know he’s an SMU fan, but he’s not wrong on this. We should really avoid attendance smack.3 points

On these pages I told a GMG colleague I would buy a drink and send him the cup. In my excitement, I forgot who. If it’s you, tell me so and where I’m to send your Mean Green souvenir cup. J2 points

A lot of us don't forget the SMU days of pre-June Jones. Getting a ticket for an SMU game was like going to the fireworks stand - buy 1 get 5 free.2 points

Strength (or maybe safety) in numbers? I think once you get beyond a certain number you'd probably operate as two (or more) "conferences" within a larger virtual conference umbrella.2 points

attendance smack from a school with nearly 40k undergrads and has never had a single sellout....2 points

I would like for our defense to just be below average this year2 points

Great points. But the amount of money that will be negotiated into the next TV contract, exclusive to the CFBMostElite, in a world where there will never be a Georgia vs Campbell (or North Texas, for that matter) September or November game, where literally every game will mean something, where every seat is more valuable because of the importance of each game (ticket prices go up)....well, I won't feel sorry over any "lost" revenue the CFBME teams may realize. While we're all excited about hosting Oregon St (a name brand, former P5 member) let's not mistake them for Duke or Gonzaga. They are not actually that good in basketball... 2023-24 = 13-19, 5-15 in Pac-12 2022-23 = 11-21, 5-15 2021-22 = 3-28, 1-192 points

You are correct that Vizza was here for two years. Loved that dude, despite all the smoke (cough) and mirrors that surrounded his exit. Rodge flipped to be with his dad and play QB. IIRC, Longhorns offer was as a utility player and not a QB.2 points

Check with @Matt from A700 He may still be able to get the $13 ticket. Who knows where it may go from there? GMG2 points

On the bright side, we might make history (again) this season. The Mean Green are back, baby!2 points

UNT going to lose games 77-70 but at least the opposing RB had 2 YPC! (the opposing QB had 500 passing yards)2 points

I really don't care where they put us at the beginning of the season. Sounds about right, to be honest. But if we're clearly the 116th-best team at the end of the season . . .1 point

UNT has 5x the undergrads and they can't be bothered to walk across campus to watch a football game at a really nice and still new stadium. Says a lot doesn't it.1 point

Metzlers is owned by Roy Metzler...big time UNT and Mean Green supporter. And, who by the way, supplies and mans most of the alcohol venues at UNT events including Apogee. They do a ton of volume out of that "small barbeque place".1 point

That's why I don't think they want us to go completely away. They still need non conference wins to pad their records. Just like we play teams like SFA and Portland State and the like.1 point

The one thing I'm disappointed about is that it appears the UTA series is not being renewed. I didn't know last year was the last year of the series until Ross said so at the caravan. But even last year it appeared to be a low priority since it was scheduled on the Saturday after Christmas. Can we get one Texas team to play us every year?1 point

The AAC is a good conference, it has taken this school decades to get here, and is a very good achievement for a school that does not usually put a lot of emphasis into its athletic program. The school has some very good athletic facilities that as good if not better then some P5 schools. The big thing that I see holding UNT back is the culture, students seem less interested every year in attending games, and as they graduate and become alumni they are less interested in supporting the schools athletics.1 point
