  1. The blonde was strong. Delicious. The whiskey mixed with lemonade Made a tasty Scrappy Sour. It too was outstanding. Our Mean Green drinks are on point. Winning will bring a whole different level to Denton Gameday. GMG

  3. Would have helped to have had the new seats installed before today’s event. Opening up the stadium and allowing people to come sit down there in the new seats for a practice could have been a tipping point for people to either renew or consider upgrading to those seats. Hope they’re installed for the first game.

  5. I am feeling good about Morris staying healthy and jump starting the offense quickly. Also I think Morris has learnt from his mistakes. I don't see him being as complacent this season. I think he will come out of the gate and be very aggressive. My sources indicate he has basically taken over the defense and so we should see a good improvement there if we can stay healthy. Anyway, I know many fans reading on here seem negative and I wanted to give another more positive perspective. I think when we defeat South Bama you will see a lot more positivity amongst the fanbase. GMG

  6. Got the email for this today. Hope to see all of you on Saturday. Does anyone know if they're doing anything (gifts???) for the season ticket holders at this event? Once upon a time, you used to get something tangible; we even got plastic hanging tix for CL! Now all I get is a text that my e-tix are ready. It feels like it might as well have been a text from Doordash telling me my $50 doordash'ed wings are sitting on the front porch.

  9. I am thankful they are trying to do more things like this. Sadly, the one thing you can count on, just like with UNT gear, there will be those that no matter what they produce will complain about it.

  14. Watching practice yesterday, noticed Jace Ruder got lots of time in at LB. May be a pleasant surprise, obviously smart & a great athlete from being a QB. Looks like he’s added muscle over the summer also.

  16. I am pessimistic about the season. Morris will be great at QB, running backs are a dime a dozen, as long as they aren't fumbling we're fine there. WR has a handful of guys who are pretty good proven players, none are Darden or Maclin, if Sheffield or J. Aaron contribute we're in decent shape. I remain extremely high on Hammond, I believe he will be one and done and move on to a P4 after this season he can play. It's a whole lot of unproven players behind him at TE. OL has a couple guys who are really good with tons of snaps in Blair and Duncan, some questions marks in the other spots. Coach Morris is a good to great playcaller, all this considered I think this offense can score 30 PPG if healthy and is our only shot at being over .500 I'm so lost as to how they shaped the defensive side of the ball after last season. We have entirely too many safeties too few cornerbacks and only after striking out with many transfers did we sign a few portal DL that were left over after 120 FBS teams filled up. The only way I see them having success (which would be to be a top 80 unit, absolute ceiling) would be luck AKA turnovers like the 2018 Mean Green, but that team actually had talent at every position. We gave up 5.7 yards per carry and 37 touchdowns on the ground and we are more or less rolling out the same front six. We signed 4 DL portal players and 2 portal LB while losing Mazin Richards and Olobwede to Memphis that is just inexcusable to me. Unless 4 or 5 of these guys make the most insane jumps from one season to the next we will again be a bottom ten unit. As has been the case for the last five years this team is entirely too young as well, doubling down on bringing back the DC, and tripling down on signing too many high school players is beyond me. Despite what people think we have an easy schedule all things considered. Memphis is probably better than Texas Tech who most would say is our toughest game and we don't have to go through our annual dog walking against SMU. I just don't see how we win more than 4 games against that schedule which is sad. I will be at the games but man I just don't see it with this team unless like I said above the offense scores 30+ PPG and we get some lucky breaks defensively because the talent is not there.

  21. And Texas State--coached by G.J. Kinne, the guy against whom everyone is measuring Eric Morris--is predicted to be 1st in that division. That gives a little added meaning to our first game.

  23. Hamilton Tiger-cats scout in attendance at open practice. I asked what we needed to do to get Mason back on the roster. He said he was surprised he wasn't on a team right now but there were a couple of injuries last week that may allow Mason to receive a call soon. Maybe he was just entertaining me.

  34. There should be a referral program in place for people to get their friends, family, neighbors, and former classmates to buy season tickets. The Athletic Dept should also have a table setup at every Alumni Association event in TX trying to get people to buy tickets. If the staffers aren't available, then reach out to Alum Association season tickets holders to staff the table. Offer them referral money or discounts off their next season's tickets for providing a contact that the actual AD ticket people can convert to a sold seat. I can also assume there's a lot of Denton area events like Jazz Fest, NT County Fair, etc that out ticket office could also man a booth at. Not sure why we're not one of the tents at places like the Byron Nelson or The Colonial, which both have tents from all sorts of people selling stuff a lot less fun than sporting events tickets. If anything, you're just trying to add names to a marketing list, if you convert those additions to 1 game or season tickets holders down the line and for many years to come, you were successful. Understanding the marketing funnel seems to escape our AD's abilities.

  35. I'd never down vote you for having an opinion. And he seems okay to me, but Morris is our guy and we can't give up on him after one substandard season. I like Morris and do hope he can bring his defensive standard up to his offensive standard. Besides Barbay is also an air-raid guy, the offense probably wouldn't be that different, Again, the defense is our problem.

  37. This will certainly be locked, but I think there is a point to be made after the last discussion was closed before it could really be discussed. “It wasn’t something I intended to do,” Carini told La Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian newspaper. “Actually, I want to apologize to her and everyone else. I was angry because my Olympics had gone up in smoke.” “All this controversy makes me sad,” she said. Khelif, who is set to face Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori in Saturday’s quarterfinals, has not issued a public statement on the backlash. A genetically born female won the match. There's no discrepancy in that. Certain DNA issues are definitely relevant. Totally understand that. Both sides have a point to make. If I had a point to make, the response above is it. Let's stop being all or none. Black and white. Worst ever, best ever. Are we improving or worsening others lives or are we having true discussions on the state of our world? Be human today Be kind Be more than hate Discuss and banter, but see the word as something so much bigger than your opinion. If you cannot, then you are a fundamental problem. How do we do better? Someone's life was ruined yesterday through hate. Is that who we are?

  38. In Algeria, being lgbtq or alphabet identity is literally not legal. Now, I trust many governments will look the other way on certain issues, but the controversy here is not on who she is. She was born normal. The IBA (lead by Russia btw) determined her ineligible. The IOC said let's F around and find out. It seems unfair, but it's also not her fault. No more than Ledecky or Marchand. Also just absolute beasts of humanity.

  40. Khelif grew up in a rural village in Tiaret Province, in northwestern Algeria.[2] She originally played football before switching to boxing. In her early years, she had to commute to a neighboring village to attend training sessions, and sold scrap metal to afford the bus fare.[3] She stated that her father initially did not allow her to participate in the sport because "he did not approve of boxing for girls
