Read it again. It says 10000% committed. That is 10X more committed than your "kiss of death".9 points

I was all excited to jump in with a snarky comment but unfortunately.... I can't. There's nothing to criticize. Legit brewery, nice can. Very disappointing.7 points

New forum rule. There should be NO DISCUSSIONS about kids who commit to North Texas until they sign, suit up, and make a lifetime blood oath. They might transfer, they might flip their commitment, they might be abducted by aliens. Shame on some of you for prematurely talking about kids currently committed to North Texas on a North Texas forum.7 points

AFAIK, we only have two scholarship QBs on our roster--one of those has been very injury-prone throughout his career, the other is a true freshman. An addition like this was absolutely necessary.5 points

I agree with other posters, if losing kids to NIL is all that's on your mind, keep it to yourself or rant on another one of other countless doomsday threads. We had a whole year to lose Cash McCollum and it looks like he'll be suiting up for us.4 points

No. I think he's onto something. Normal students AND student-athletes should live in the world of equity. I think ALL people should flourish equally. Why should a starting QB of any athletic program financially succeed beyond that of the average Joe 2.7 gpa business major. We have to cut people off at the legs or even hips, for others to catch up. 2.7 Joe should be just as financially prepared at his graduation as 3 year starter QB with 8000 passing yards. It's only fair, right? RIGHT?3 points

Career backup guy. He seems like a solid insurance policy, who under worst case, could do well with a strong UNT offense. It's a good gamble for him2 points

He played at four schools before he came here and had very little playing time. Curious addition.2 points

Looks like he has one year of eligibility, thanks to the COVID year: https://gofrogs.com/sports/football/roster/grant--tisdale/154142 points

I guess NT should limit recruiting to recruits with little potential, and hope they don't develop. I don't believe any college sport fan is not aware of NIL and it's disastrous effect on college sports. Someone stating after every commitment or signing, the dangers of losing that recruit because of NIL is not necessary. I think Jamario was a 4 star and NT has got several JUCO's with that rating, but it has been a long time.2 points

They lost their head coach, star QB, WR, and RB. So, they are a lot like us reloading. No one really knows how all these new players will mesh with each other, and for USA new playbook and system. https://collegefootballnews.com/news/south-alabama-college-football-preview-best-players-top-transfers-season-prediction-win-total-20242 points

Yes, it looks like Ole Miss tried to move him to receiver early in his college career.1 point

If I'm compiling all of his stats correctly, he's got career statistics of 11-17 for 175 yards and 2 TDs. Couldn't confirm if any of the six incompletions were interceptions.1 point

I didn't realize he was with the Cowboys back in Dec 2020.... https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/2024/07/28/cowboys-kemon-hall-waiver-claim-49ers/1 point

Yep….If he’s a standout after a couple of years at the UNT farm club, it’s off to Ole Miss, Georgia, UCLA, or anyone of the other Power 4….such it the state of college football courtesy of NIL, the NCAA and the sports media ! God bless the coaches who have to tolerate this revolving door after spending their time recruiting and coaching them, only to see them plucked out the nest as they reach their pennacle,1 point

I believe he is listed as Jakobite Freaking Hayes in the football section🤣🤣1 point

Which site has him as a 4 star? Not taking anything away from the kid. I really like his film. 85 grade 3 star 24/7 No ranking On3 No ranking Rivals1 point

I wonder if UNT offered him the chance to play WR/CB and that’s why he picked us. Maybe other schools told him to pick a position. Either way, how awesome!1 point

Both teams have unknowns....at this point a toss. This needs to be a win for Morris to shut down doubters like me.1 point

Yes, I was there. We had about 3 to 4 couples in the 70's that used to travel to one or two road games a year. However life happens and we all moved away from Dallas, although I returned in 1974. I had two sons under 5 and was trying to start a new business so I missed the majority of Hayden's tenure. While in S.. Louis 68/70' my wife and I drove to Rolla, Missouri and rented a motel room to watch North Texas play Tulsa on a black and white t.v. Rolla was the closest town that carried the game and I think we lost. My wife was pissed as the road trip we much longer than anticipated. The best trip, bar none, was in 1988 when my then 13 year old son and I flew with the basketball team to the NCAA Sub Regionals in Salt Lake City. The day we arrived the Mavericks were in town so we saw them play that evening at the Salt Palace. The next day we were on Utah's campus and saw the Eagles pounded by J.R. Reed and the North Carolina Tar Heels. The second game was Wyoming vs Loyola Marymont [sic] where the teams scored a combined 250 points. I still have never see a college basketball game to match it.1 point

These “new” uniforms look a lot like the ones we wore vs. LaTech at the Mean Joe statue unveiling. Seems like we also wore something very similar on a few occasions 2 or 3 years ago. Not complaining, just discussing.1 point

I know there are fans who have been to more college stadiums than me, but just for fun I will share mine. Army,South Carolina,FIU,FAU,Miami,Auburn, UAB,Missouri,Purdue, I.U.,Kansas State,Ark. St., Arkansas Little Rock. Arkansas Fayetteville, ULL,UL Monroe, LSU, Tulsa, Oklahoma ,Ok. St.,Texas,TCU,SMU,Baylor,SFA,UTEP,Augustana,New Mexico,Air Force,UCLA. UTEP's stadium, the Sun Bowl, is unique as it is carved into a mountain. UCLA's stadium felt like it was about to fall down. The Auburn fans were friendly, LSU fans the most drunk, Texas the most obnoxious. Going to see us play and beat Army with my 15 year grandson was a real treat. We froze our ass off, but watching the cadets preform at halftime was a thrill. However, Fouts Field was better than their stadium. While our new stadium is not as large as some I have seen, I will put it up against just about anyone else's . We are fortunate to have such a great venue and should never take it for granite. Hopefully we will fill it before I bite the big one.1 point

My issue is that every Nike team has the same uni. Copy/paste the template then add a logo to the collar. I liked the subtly of the previous green jerseys. Mean Green across the front with a feather design in the numbers which only really becomes notable on close ups. If the only thing that changed was the color going to Kelly Green, I would have given this an A++. Overall, they’re fine. But like you said, establish an identity and stick with it. If they’re going to stick with this color/style for a while, I’m cool with that.1 point
-
IMHO, if we want to establish an identity, then we must have an identifiable look/uniform. A tricked up version is fine on occasion, but the green/white combos for this year look great and represent what North Texas is. The Mean Green. With the additional exposure on TV, it is vitally important. I'd wager it helps promote marketing as well. Let the apparel companies mix up color schemes if they want and see if they sell or not. But with uniforms, stick with the basics. That way, when people are channel surfing games they'll come across ours and say, "Hey! There's North Texas!" Again, just MHO.1 point

Not sure what the point of the first sentence is. I remember Obama being lauded as the up and coming face of the Democratic Party. While there was mention of his lack of experience, it wasn't too the degree that some have heaped on Vance as the VP candidate. To top it off, Harris, as noted in another post, was so unpopular in her own party that she was the first one out of the primaries, yet people loved it when Biden picked her. A review of Biden's appointments show a clear lack of achievement and experience in the areas with which they were appointed, but reveal a pattern of making sure that matched DEI requirements.1 point

If this is all we wear this year, I’ll be ecstatic. Not a big fan of the winged helmet, but I’ll gladly trade off wearing those every game for never wearing black.1 point

Personally I love them. Classic and clean. Stuck to the school colors “cheer for the green and white”1 point

I don’t care about uniforms. Just win! Correction. On further review, I would take issue with the Darrell Dickey all black uniforms.1 point
