  1. Best news this country has received in a long time

  2. You guys can hate Biden all you want (I am not a huge fan either) but please take a minute to understand this 81 year old just served 4 years in the worst, most difficult job in the country. His ability to withdraw is noble, and I wish him a peaceful remainder of his life. Politics aside.

  3. I'm going to the kick-off event in Aug 3rd and will get my printed tickets then. I've always had very good luck contacting this person in the ticket office.........hannah.drysdale@unt.edu. She advised me that printed tickets are available, for an extra $15.

  4. SSJ.....I have them print out my tickets (football and basketball) for me. Also....I get printed parking passes. They're more than willing to do it.

  5. Yeah. I'm old and always renew my tickets over the phone. But, that entire tickets in the phone thing is a real pain. I miss the physical tickets.

  6. I heard she’s gonna try to make abortions available up to 36 weeks after pregnancy. Interesting 🤔

  7. Actually, Liz Cheney, George Santos, and the Quisling from Ohio are already gone, and Mitt Romney is retiring. The trash issue has already been addressed. Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor Green should be shown the door next as they tend to act just as trashy as their colleagues across the aisle. Clean up your act or get out. (and please try to keep your racially based hate comments off the board so that nothing gets locked)

  8. No. It was the right thing to do at the start of the year. You know, before our democratic processes started in March. After winning the primaries voted on by the people, it is now the wrong thing to do. Timing matters. Stay in and take your L. Now, he (and the entire democrat establishment) is simply nullifying our processes and allowing an appointee to take the L.

  16. I'd like to think in the past decade, athletics success standards have risen, but still, when have we ever let go of a coach so soon? Looking at Wikipedia, maybe some others can educate me on the ways Bob Tyler and Dennis Parker left in 1981 and 1993 after one and three seasons. But I think it'd take some disastrous 1-11 season to get rid of Eric this early. If our defense is still getting embarrassed and we start something like 1-6 or 1-7, maybe we get rid of Caponi, but do we have the money to do that either?

  17. I think it was the raw athleticism that mainly was it. High motor, big upside.

  20. That has not been my experience. Sometimes they don't know the answer to the question, but they put me on hold and find out. They're friendly and responsive when I call.

  24. Obviously last year wasn’t great, but I think it would have been even worse under the old regime. I like Littrell and I’m thankful that he raised the bar for what is now acceptable, but I can’t help but think we would have lost to Memphis, UTSA, and Tulane by 21+ points. Those games very likely demoralizing. I think that we probably would have beaten FIU, but possibly lost to Tulsa and/or UAB. Yes, worse record, but more difficult schedule (especially considering the gauntlet 4 game stretch of conference) and we were competitive in all games…though the 2nd halves against Cal and SMU were bad.

  25. None of the schools mentioned, including Memphis and USF, increase the media rights value of any major conference in the nation. While large markets like Temple in Philadelphia may sound good they don't matter if they have no fan base.In addition no one really wants private schools with 4 to 8,000 undergraduates regardless of location .
    1 point
  26. Yeah . . . no. Seth Littrell was fired for only hitting 6 and 7 wins his last two seasons. Expectations with the new hire were clearly that those win totals would be improved upon. Coach Morris might be able to keep his job one more year with a 6-win season, but his seat will be flaming hot next year. 6 wins is hardly "the step needed."

  28. I met Abner at the Color Barrier Breaker Breakfast some 10 years ago. I saw him again at the dedication of the Unity Plaza. He truly was a man amongst men. Every black athlete at North Texas should know his story and those of the men who helped him get through it! As a former player, I will always owe him a debt of gratitude for what he did! At let us not forget... Abner and Leon are the TRUE color barrier breakers in Texas (not what the school down south wants you to believe). RIP! GMG Forever!

  29. Abner Haynes played football here when the playing part was the easy part. The abuse he had to deal with, likely every day, must have made him wonder why he chose to come here in the first place. Abner Haynes and his teammate Leon King blocked so that others could run. They carried the ball so that the ball later generations carried was lighter. And thank you to the University of North Texas (NTSC, NTSU) for offering these opportunities some 10 years before those opportunities became fashionable. My Dad took me to see my first football game. I’ll never forget him saying we were going to see “Little Abner.” There should be a statue to Abner Haynes next to Joe Greene’s. I’m just sorry Abner wont see it.

  31. Yes, but I care about UNT above all else. We would lose the top half of AAC and end up back in CUSA effectively.

  34. The AAC is a good conference, it has taken this school decades to get here, and is a very good achievement for a school that does not usually put a lot of emphasis into its athletic program. The school has some very good athletic facilities that as good if not better then some P5 schools. The big thing that I see holding UNT back is the culture, students seem less interested every year in attending games, and as they graduate and become alumni they are less interested in supporting the schools athletics.

  36. https://collegefootballnews.com/news/2024-north-texas-college-football-preview-key-players-game-schedule-season-predictions Give North Texas a little time to figure it all out. The American Athletic Conference is the new Conference USA, but it’s still a decent Group of Five league with enough good teams to make life tough. Under second-year head coach Eric Morris, North Texas will make life hard in the Year Two in the league. The program has been a bit stuck. The promise of the back-to-back nine-win seasons of 2017 and 2018 flew out the window with inconsistencies and a painful lack of defense, but helped by the weirdness of 2020, the six bowl games in seven years - even though it lost all six - kept North Texas relevant enough to pay attention to

  40. Odd fact: If Joe Biden resigns from the Presidency because of his advanced senility Kamala becomes President and Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson becomes Vice President. Johnson would then be the determining vote in any tied US Senate votes. This will help keep President Kamala from inflicting too much damage to the country as Americans would essentially hold the majority in the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court. All Welcome President Kamala Harris, the 47th President of the United States, even if its little more than a figurehead position for six months.

  44. I know quite a few people who have not renewed their season tickets. Including some who have emailed the AD to let them know the direction of college sports with the NIL and the portal as the reason. Many feel of the players aren’t loyal why should they be. Especially if they are going to be season ticket holders or donate 10k-50k to the university a year. Losing people who have supported programs for decades and apathetic college students isn’t good for the future.
