  1. Yeah.... a threat to our democracy. Lol... while they are currently trying to sway delegates away from Biden at the DNC convention... but Trump is the threat to democracy. It writes itself.

  3. Wow 400ft away in one of only like 3 possible places a shooter could perch. There's even eyewitnesses that say they alerted law enforcement to the shooter scaling the building with a gun 4-5 minutes before it happened. Huge secret service oversight here.

  4. Unfortunately, his best role should be as an athlete as I do not see him being a great college QB. He backed out of his commitment to TCU because of his desire to play QB. I had a chance to see his North Crowley team play Duncanville in their regional final game last year (In Mesquite). Like all others, not named DeSoto, Duncanville destroyed them and held Jemison in check. N Crowley was undefeated going into the game and was a top 5 6A team statewide. I expect similar impressive numbers from him in the fall and another great NC run. They will again be a top 5 (6A) contender but have difficulties getting past the district of doom's representative (Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Waxahachie, Lancaster, and an improved Skyline). The great thing for UNT is in picking up a 2nd tier recruit/athlete that we should always sign each year. He is a good HS dual threat guy which is needed to compensate for his lack of size. A little more explosive than Chandler Rogers out of the pocket but not the track speed of a Jason Bean. North Crowley is as talented as any other program in the state, and it always helps to build on that pipeline.

  7. I'm saying that he was clearly a person guided by the Trump derangement syndrome taught by extremely corrupt politicians and their willing stooges in the media. They constantly disparage a man that guided our country through one of its most prosperous periods in history. They often wrongfully refer to him as being "a threat to our democracy, the next Hitler, and a vengeful dictator." By the way, I didn't lump you with those people, you did.

  12. I'd be curious for you to elaborate on this. beyond actually managing to implement a very mediocre and watered down version of a national healthcare plan, it feels the left (as very left-leaning, especially socially) it has felt like our leaders have actually done very little to implement the far more progressive ideas. meanwhile, a 30 year orchestrated effort by power-brokers on the right (I suppose not entirely actual elected officials) have effectively remade the court system and given an inordinate amount of power to 6 unelected conservatives.

  13. I'm with you. These gimmick uniforms are great and all, but at what point do we realize that money could be better spent elsewhere, plus we don't have the brand recognition and identity to constantly change our look.

  18. Engineering school was founded in 2003, that's over two decades, plural. Before that other engineering programs were offered: I'm not going to say our school has a crazy depth of alumni like some other schools, but days of UNT being a simple teacher's college and music school have been gone for a while. My main point is that people using the "art and music kids don't like sports" doesn't make statistical sense. Those students are outnumbered nearly 3 to 1.

  19. I'm a film major, yet here I am as well. That hasn't been true for quite some time. I'll give you Law since that has been around a 10 years only, the other schools have been around for decades. The school of Business has been around since the 40s, there is no shortage of alumni that the school has produced. The reality is people like to use this excuse without any real facts. From the numbers here, the number of graduates should closely match the size of schools. https://institutionalresearch.unt.edu/images/factbook_dair_2022-2023.pdf Taking the graduation numbers on page 36 and 37, UNT gave out 10,946 degrees in 2022. Even if you combined the School of Liberal Arts and Music that's only 27% of students. Are you really telling me the other 73% care about athletics? Where are those other thousands of students and alumni? The reality is we have low fan engagement across the board from years of mediocrity and no sustained success.

  20. One person is not a hate group. The unfortunate side effect of one dumbass persons choice is now we have to live under a vengeful dictator for 4 years. I'm not right or left, but this just spiraled an already horrible situation into a much worse place. I'm actually fearful to be American now.

  24. Because Minnesota isn't exactly an elite P6 basketball program. We aren't a guaranteed win for many teams. If a big school wants to buy some wins, why would they pay a good program to come into their house and beat them?

  25. We're face LA Ignite in the first round of this year's tournament. Things look pretty good because one the game is in Houston and they're in the Houston bracket. Also looking at the Ignite roster is not an alumni team, they are from various different teams and they're not from traditional power basketball programs. Plus with it being in Houston maybe we can get some fans there to cheer them on. https://thetournament.com/tbt/teams/la-ignite/

  26. It seems I've hit a nerve. I don't want this discussion closed on my account so should bow out because it isn't worth arguing with internet strangers who have already closed their eyes and walked blind. I hope I'm wrong. But everything in my gut tells me we are walking into an abyss. We'll talk over beers in 4 years over who was right or wrong

  27. So, let's just boil this down: Healthcare is bad. People should either pay for a massively bloated revenue system (I work in Healthcare, so kinda an expert here), or just die. Cool. Defy the otherside with a deadly insurrection. So you want more of this. Gotcha. Rewrite the constitution with a packed court... like granting immunity to a non-sitting president. Ok. Save democracy by threatening to throw your opponents in prison. Alright. You're kinda all over the map here my friend. Both sides are a ton of crap but this is the angry rhetoric we need to move beyond!

  31. Frankly, It's time for conservatives to stop sitting at the table. For the better part of 5 decades Republicans play the role of defender while in power and liberals play the part of progressive steamroller while in power. It's beyond time for Republicans to get on the offensive. Can't play offense and patty cake at the same time And I don't want unity in the sense of the way it has always been. The way it always was is not a democracy. High rollers putting basically unknowns and/or generational familiy politicians on a pedestal is not good for anyone except the high rollers, lobbyists, and executives of special interest groups/corps. That's not democracy, that's a patriarchal monarch masquerading as democracy.

  32. I don't hate anyone. Keep your beliefs. They're yours to have. But just because the msm propaganda machine fills the void of informer, doesn't make them factual. They are not. I just find it difficult to see the hate, vitriol, etc that Trump allegedly spews. I know I hear it from the media. They dance daily on him with those words. But where are those actions? As for me, I will be my own judge. I do not need anyone to tell me what to think or how to feel. As for the criminal mischief... find me a company CEO that oversees books, let alone a president

  33. Division/unity seems to be off the radar for both sides. We are, unfortunately, in political times where neither side is interested in sitting at the table with the other and coming up with compromises that we can both agree on. Not that we don't like that idea. But we (are conditioned to?) believe that the only way to get what we want is to bully the other side off the table. How can we get to a place where unity is a priority again? It won't be with Trump or Biden. I don't think I'll vote for him, but I enjoy the way Vivek Ramaswamy presents himself. Would love to hear what others think of him.

  35. Right here! Business major. We have historically been a mostly teacher's college, plus music and arts majors, some business and science. We don't have the core of wealthy law, medical, and engineering alums that other university's have.

  36. Another way is maybe stop recruiting so many Liberal Arts majors. Not to offend anyone, but you do not find too many sports fans amongst Art, Music, Dance etc. majors. Also, maybe we should get away from all these commercials that scream nerd and we want people with no drive. Maybe add in a little more sports clips with the students having fun at all sporting events. All this is just my opinion.

  37. I expect they'll be favored. They were clearly a better team last year than we were, and we'll need a lot of new and inexperienced players to step up.

  38. Power Four Programs Offered 6-Figure NIL Deals to Colorado State’s Tory Horton, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi Huge fan of these two for their dedication and commitment to their teammates and school. $600K is a LOT of money for 19-20 year-old kids to turn down. Between the transfer portal and NIL, the college football game just doesn't excite me like it once did. With such high turnover rates every season, it's hard to get to know and follow a team. I'm afraid it will get a lot worse before it gets better.

  42. This title is WILD! It feels like July offseason talk. We’re putting a lot of resources into putting a competitive product on the field. I can almost guarantee not a single person in the athletic department views UNT as a minor league product. The goal is always to win the conference, win the bowl game…and with this new set up, there’s a chance to be in the final 12. Looking forward to seeing our guys compete this year!

  43. As much as I hate NIL, this is a terrible idea. It creates a situation where the better teams want out of the conference. Now if they start talking about an FBS-wide NIL cap, I'm all in.
