You know what this actually surprises me a bit. When I was at UNT, the tailgate would have probably been canceled in this weather but we'd still have gone to the game. The leaders in my fraternity and others made it a point to tell everybody to go to games. Obviously not everybody went but many did. We had a tremendous amount of fun even though we were right after the Dodge years and there wasn't much to be excited about. Attendance has never been great but as fraternity members, you should be acting as a UNT hype group, not discouraging attendance. @rojomojo, you spend your time on here preaching what the P5s do yet you yourself behave like a bottom feeder fan. Students at P5s would be in attendance, no matter the weather. Bad weather is part of the game and if you're a fan, you are also part of the game. Some of you students want UNT to be a bigger program but you're not willing to behave like fans of a bigger program. You're not asked to do much more than be a warm body in a stadium yet you have a stadium right across the highway with a nice pedestrian bridge but you can't make the trip. Here's an idea for your fraternity, give the pledges some money to go to Walmart and buy some ponchos for everybody plus some for the women. Then get the pledges to drive y'all over to the game so you don't have to walk. You have 5 hours. Be a leader, make a plan, and execute it. You're not a small child. You're a young adult and soon you're going to be expected to be a contributing member to society. You're going to be ok if you get a little wet. So are your friends. My 5 year old was just out in the rain in sandals swinging on our play set. He's still alive. I promise it will be ok.11 points

The frats won’t be there?? Oh no…what ever will we do without the 7 of them that come inside??!!11 points

Rogers threw for 411 yards and 5 touchdowns (no picks). Adeyi rushed for 104 yards & we had two 100 yard receivers today. The offense isn't why we lost today. We lost this game because our defense is trash. Yes, we got stops in the second half, but they still gave up 600 yards to the Memphis offense and lost our lead with 46 seconds left on the clock and 75 yards of field to help them. I'm done with Caponi. The guy would have to cure cancer for me to want him at UNT any longer.10 points

I pray we only gave Caphony a 1 yr contract, otherwise he will be back next year regardless of how bad the defense finishes. His scheme has cost the team 4 potential victories due to no showing first half and then melting down under pressure late in game7 points

The offense is very good I'll judge the head coach after the season if we don't clean house on the defensive side. It's not just coming out flat literally every game or bad schemes or bad fundamentals, it's also shockingly bad situational awareness. That said if they are able to find even a mediocre defensive staff, we'll be in the hunt for a championship.7 points

When you have 600 yards and put up that effort and lose? You aren’t serious about defense or football. Some serious programs have fired their coordinators mid season. If Caponi is here next year, Morris deserves whatever happens.7 points

Disagree. If you look at the investments in this program and how much these coaches are being paid this is just as bad if not worse.7 points

That running back looks gassed. We have them right where we want them.7 points

Head coaches that only understand one side of the ball should be coordinators, not head coaches. There really is no excuse for this level of ineptitude.7 points

Air Raid coaches are the "kiss of death" for college football programs. Our next coach needs to be a defensive guy that's smart enough to just hire an air raid OC.6 points

No. When you are on your first drive of the game, easily within FG range, and you are trying to gain any resemblance of momentum as a program...you. take. The. Points.6 points

I don't know what the hell our obsession is with going for it on 4th down on your first drive when you are in field goal range.6 points

On Thursday night there were a few thousand students that "walked across miles of asphalt" to the bonfire pep rally. Other than the coeds ransacking the charcuterie board at the Alumni Pavillion, it sure appeared enough kids found a reason to walk over to DATCU for school spirit. And this sentence is the crown jewel of smarter than you 2023 students: Tomorrow will be a day that greatly displays the negative aspects of NIMBY stadium projects and the impacts they have on collegiate demographics. WTF do all of these words strung together even mean?6 points

Is this a joke? Did I stumble upon a bit? Understanding your post and Twitter history, I know you're being serious... And with that... I'll leave it to the late and great Kobe Bryant, as he said it best.......6 points

It is pick your poison. If we cared more about consuming the clock than scoring, we get a field goal there. Then if we lose in OT, we're all angry we didn't score a touchdown when there was a chance to grab the lead. Our defense had held Memphis to one touchdown in the second half. We should have been able to keep them from going 75 yards in 47 seconds.5 points

This defense only had to stop Memphis from getting a touchdown, and they had 46 seconds to hold them. Terrible. Fire Caponi. Go buy new defensive players. It's working for SMU.5 points

4 games now that easily could have been victories if the coaches made better choices and also had the team ready to play from the first snap5 points

Stupid. Just tackle the receiver before the ball even gets there, it's only a 15-yard penalty!5 points

Can this team just start playing a “first half” against the scout team in the IPF before the game starts?5 points

Well, there's top-tier analysis from the coach. "We got to stop the run, by tackling their players." Freaking brilliant . . .5 points

if he does not make a change at the end of the season then I will agree with you.5 points

I am not even mad at the players, because the overpaid DC is not helping them with his pathetic defensive scheme he is shoving down their throats when the personnel is not there.5 points

Well guys, if our coaches did their jobs in the first half, good possibility this would’ve been an actual victory instead of another moral victory4 points
-
This is 8 games in. We’ve seen enough. It’s not like “hey let’s keep working the defensive system” we’re not going anywhere this season. There’s no reason to keep Camponi. He should be fired Monday. I would have a lot of respect for Morris and actually have hope for his program if he did that4 points
-
Why the f**k play man to man when a zone could have stopped them short, crap play call by the DC again in crunch time, just like FIU, Navy, Tulane, and now Memphis. Yeah moral victory, we never quit4 points

I mean, a good coach teaches kids to just tackle the guy before the ball gets there and live another play.4 points

And hindsight this seems to be a case where Eric did not have the maturity as a coach to hire an experienced defensive coordinator. Maybe he wanted inexperienced coaches so he could show he was a control versus having the confidence in himself to hire an experienced defensive coordinator and let him run that side of the ball. Sadly not sure if this will change until he's been coaching for several more years as history shows Air Raid coaches do not place a lot of emphasis on defense4 points

Pledging ain't what it used to be. We would have told the pledges they had to be in the stands all four quarters otherwise they should plan to get a 2am phone call invite to a brotherhood pledge encouragement session.4 points
