…..Seth Littrell would’ve lost this game by 30. He still has a lot to learn as a young HC, but he has cajones. This team has gotten better every week and I’d put Rogers as one of, if not the best QB in the conference right now. These guys are clearly buying in and it shows. I’m not guaranteeing a win in the next three games but I damn sure have a lot more hope than I did after FIU. We could easily be 6-1 right now if Rogers starts the whole season. Defense is making big stops, and Morris is aggressive as hell with an explosive offense. I like our chances the rest of the way.26 points

I have never seen an NT team get better like this as the season went along. Sure, you're almost always going to clean some stuff up as the season progresses, but this team is really progressing and I'm very encouraged for the future of the program under Morris.14 points

Going down 21-0 at halftime left me feeling with a, “Here we go again.” I expected Tulane to go up 28-0 after receiving the ball to start the 3rd quarter. We held them, we got the ball, we scored. A few minutes later it was 28-28 with 9 minutes left in the game. I FULLY expected us to win the game. I haven’t had this type of confidence in our football team in a very long time. This is not old Denton. This is not new Denton. This is something different and I’m here for it. I’m looking forward to watching this team continue to grow, compete, and WIN! GMG!9 points

I have been thinking all along that Rodgers was a Senior. I just found out he is only a Junior. How nice would it be going into 2024 knowing we have the QB position solidified (assuming the transfer portal does not strike again). Harris and his 7 year run at UTSA have been the main reason for their recent success.8 points

That was an amazing turnaround today. There was lots of pre-game talk about Tulane making excellent halftime adjustments in previous games (Memphis). I think Tulane went into cruise-mode in the third quarter thinking our game was over.8 points
-
I gave up on the game at 21-0 because my son just began at Florida State and I had FSU/Duke tickets. After missing that half I may disown him.8 points
-
Agree 💯 and his play calling on offense was WAY better than Tulane’s. His offense is fun to watch! He came into his own today. He showed us a swagger.8 points

SMU noticed our quarterback, and all of a sudden we have their attention. Beat Memphis! GMG8 points

This game should be great for the team’s confidence. We hung with a ranked opponent, and possibly the favorite of the conference. We were suppose to have lost by 20. They were touted to have a very good defense (best in the AAC), if I heard the announcers correctly. This shows that our offense can hang with the big boys. With Chandler Rogers, we have a bonafide qb that can win us games if the defense can do its part. Speaking of the defense, I’m proud of how they played. They made stops, created turnovers, and played big more times than any game we played so far. Could we be much better…of course. Did we give up a lot of plays and Still missed a lot of tackles…absolutely. But, if this is the effort they bring to every game, I’ll be over the moon because it gives us a chance. Do I still like the 3-3-5…he’ll no. Caponi isn’t off the hook for me, but I’m happy to see progress. Next test…will we be consistent?8 points

Yes. I'm talking about the game with two teams playing on the same field... Unless you think NT should be excused any time we play in the alamodome because we aren't used to playing in a dome7 points

I was very frustrated after the FIU loss and was convinced Morris was the wrong hire based on the regression from last year to this one. Then I learned multiple players, even some on the 2 deep, had been dismissed. As a result, new guys were going to get significant playing time and were going to be challenged in a role they had never had at the college level. This team has gotten better every single week since then. That's not something that happens when you have a bad HC. Yesterday tells me we have a chance to win every game left on our schedule. We couldn't say that a few weeks ago.7 points
-
They’ve shown solid progress the last 2 games and are no longer a total embarrassment. Isn’t that what you demanded they do? You seem to keep moving the goal line with your expectations.6 points
-
Are you talking about our win against UTSA? A game that was at home in the cold rain against a team that is not used to playing in bad weather? That was a great game but I have a feeling we would have lost if the weather hadn't been on our side.6 points
-
And if the defense made some key stops like they did today. We aren’t winning many games with the performances the defense put up in our losses.6 points

"My pig found its, found its self smart enough to hop over in the the barrier from his pen to the next pen and eat all of that pigs food and then go to the next one and eat all of that pigs food and then the next one and eat all of that pigs food and make his way back in time for when it was my turn my time to feed him he had already eaten three meals and would just be sitting there waiting for me and I would feed him and he would eat that. That’s why he gained so much weight and got sifted at the fat stock show." You've never seen a more fired up group of dudes after this speech from Morris6 points

There are no moral victories, but I’m encouraged by: - The fact that we have a QB FINALLY. There is no controversy, Rogers is your guy - The defense showed signs of life - Nobody is more upset by this loss than our team. I guaran-damn-tee you they believe they should won - Thousands of North Texas alums just saw their squad go toe to toe with a squad that ended last year with a Cotton Bowl win over USC - I now have a reason to begin my homecoming tailgate on FRIDAY!!!6 points

Anybody thinking this has not been paying attention for the past 40+ years. Everyone on here should have permanent neck braces from the whiplash incurred as fans of this team. I like what I saw yesterday (second half), but will remain cautiously optimistic until I see 2-3 complete games strung together instead of one half of one game that had a couple of breaks go our way and an opponent that may have gone a little into coast mode in the second half.5 points

What about the 5 game run to become bowl eligible and beating ranking UTSA?5 points
-
One thing I will say, I like the way this staff makes halftime adjustments. That was one of my biggest Littrell complaints. Our teams seem to come out and improve in the second half. I don’t have huge expectations for this season, but I can now see some hope for what we might be able to do next season. should be fun.5 points
-
Losing on the road to a ranked team by a TD is a good effort and we should be proud. Still sucks to lose though, because it was there for the taking.5 points
-
After watching this team all season I believe that they have improved after every game. I predict a Homecoming Victory against memphis. I’ve watched them as well. your Mean Green Eagles 42 memphis, less than 424 points

But Seth would of beat FIU and perhaps Navy....and not so much as by 30. Morris was the next step...no he isn't...he's on a learning curve just like Seth was when he got here. Time will tell after this year..maybe next year after the 'Rebuild'.. But Morris has 5 games left to shut up the doubters.4 points

I'm not a Morris hater, nor did I think firing Littrell was wrong... But Littrell beat the last ranked opponent he faced4 points

A real administrator in charge of this issue would have a professional design a unique yet aesthetically pleasing combination of uniforms at all work together with a single unifying reflection on North Texas. Basically, it wouldn't matter how the team patched them together, because every possible combination would look sharp. And remember, colors exist in relation to other colors, so the uniforms would have to hold up to being videoed and photographed against green fields too.4 points

A loss you can feel okay about, especially considering our defense up until last week. I'm feeling a little better about our chances in the coming weeks, though SMU will still probably turn up to beat us like we owe them money. I'd take a shitty bowl game as a huge win at this point, which seemed a pipe dream after week 2.4 points

It's over but proud of the fight. Needed a better 1st half but the defense played a great game.4 points

Former Sam Houston coach Jason Hooten took the job at NMSU after last season. His 13-year assistant coach, Chris Mudge, was promoted to Head Coach at Sam Houston (no previous head coach experience).... https://gobearkats.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/chris-mudge/1089 Sam Houston's men's basketball roster returns only 3 lettermen from last year's 26-8 team. In a roster makeover they have added 10 transfers and 2 high school experienced players.... https://gobearkats.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster There is no mention on our Exhibition game on the SHSU Athletic site or their official basketball schedule that I could find. So, don't expect many Bearkat fans in Denton, which is disappointing since these are charity fundraising exhibitions. It is listed on the UNT, Texas Tech and A$M schedules. https://gobearkats.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule3 points

His demeanor/composure is amazing. The dude never seems rattled. Never gets too high or too low. Just a cool customer. He’s been impressive. Glad he wears the green.3 points

Rodgers' TD-INT ratio is 14-1 ,which is a ratio we have not seen since Scott Hall. It's even better than Hall's. And this is a scheme that will afford him twice the yards and attempts. Rodgers legacy will explode the day he gets his first big win. Until then, he is already laying a great foundation.3 points

One of the times the announcers mentioned this was when we were down near the goal line (I think when we were down 14 and about to make it 7). They said Tulane was putting their starters back in.3 points

I feel very hopeful for the future. Morris is building a culture. Where have you worked where a new leader with brand new managers were their most successful in their first year? What about a Sports team?3 points

Ball at the end of the game with a chance to tie or win against #23 on the road. Can’t ask for much more than that. Horrible timing on a freak tripping on that last 4th down play. Feel like we turned a corner in the second half that may save the season if we continue to play that way.3 points

I don’t know you, besides what you say on this site, but I agree with everything you have said in this chat today. This team can only improve and we lost what was supposed to be some of our best offensive and defensive players before the season started to the portal.3 points

Win or lose, this team has shown me more than they have all season. Coming out of the locker room this team could have laid down…and most here expected them to…but they let ‘em hang down and punched back3 points

We're still pushing the "Eugene Levy" Scrappy. We can't even begin to work this kind of promotion until we get a better mascot costume. Our athletic department needs a director of brand marketing and management to ensure that our logos, brands, images, signage, and uniforms are coordinated to promote UNT in the best possible light within the college athletic landscape. If we currently have a person with this type of responsibility, it doesn't show.3 points

Agree with what's been said here. The effort put in by the team in the 2nd half, as well as the mental fortitude to not give up was good to see. Lot's of improvement needed, but a good showing on national TV.2 points
