I have attended the 5A and 6A state title games with a group of friends (all NT alumni) for over a decade now. Those games are being played Dec 17. There is a less than 0% chance I break that tradition to watch Seth Littrell get out coached and Aune play lawn darts in a bowl game.16 points

I have to give my dog a bath that day so I won't make it. Update I was able to reschedule my dogs bath to Saturday and hearing the recent news. I don't expect us to win but I will support the team.16 points

Come on Leadership, make the right decision. Littrell cannot be allowed to coach this game. Rip the bandaid off now so we can start moving in the right direction ASAP. Let Bloesch coach the bowl game.15 points

TCU gets in the playoff. Not bad for Sonny Dykes first year after a “lateral” move, as the SMU fans tried to sell it as.10 points

It’s best to get as good of a candidate pool as you can and then hire best person for the job. If that’s Mosley, great. If it’s someone else, great.10 points

I was in the student section yesterday for the basketball game and let me just say, I think Neal got a clear message that the students desperately want a change in football. He walked over to our section and I kid you not when I say that atleast 10 people started yelling things like "FIRE SETH" "CHANGE THE LEADERSHIP" and other things that really went straight to his head. I kinda felt bad for the dude because I actually think he's a wonderful president and he gives off friendly grandpa vibes. but the students know he's too much of a nice guy when it comes to firing people, and I think we're trying to send a clear signal that he either has to be the big man and make the change, or step aside and allow somebody else to guide the ship GMG!!!9 points

That's a load of crap. NT deserved to be in the championship game.9 points

I’ll be there. If I can’t complain and/or cheer with my fellow Mean Green Family, then what’s this all for? See you all..uh…most…uh…some?..on the 17th. GMG!9 points

If Boise State fans want to show disrespect for how we're playing football they need to get in line. Behind us.8 points

They've been starting the same QB for the past 3 seasons and he's actually progressed yearly. Now, in his junior year, he's confident, experienced, can run an offense, can manage a game, and has sharpened his skills. It's one of the reasons why I was advocating for anybody but Aune this year. It wasn't about this season, it was about next season. We knew Aune's ceiling. He hadn't improved much from year to year and at his age and classification, wasn't going to be our QB of the next 3 years. I would have preferred we play a guy with more eligibility to plan for the future. Instead, we're back at the starting point QB-wise and still have no hardware.8 points

UNT is a public university, so they have to post the job and take applications. Personally, I support Jared Mosley being our next AD. I think he understands the AAC transition plan Wren carved out for us, and the dynamics of our new master plan. We need to start turning dirt on the athletic center expansion and I think he is probably the best individual to continue all of these projects. Plus, Mosley is just a really great guy.8 points
-
I agree with seeing who all applies. Mosley may become the guy. I don't know him. Did game-day parking and customer service issues fall under his watch this season? Someone dropped the ball, again. Video screens, wi-fi, and sound systems still don't function properly at Apogee, 12 years after opening! Wren seemed to give up on details when job searching became more important to him.8 points

GMac seems to believe in him. He plays hard. We might need him later in the season. Would be nice to have a deeper rotation. It’s not conference play yet.8 points

Oh LORD Andrew! You sound like you're 90 years old. Would you rather students just not be at basketball games at all and you complain about that??7 points

I preached that for 4 1/2 years while in college as a member of Talons. Then I preached it for the past 20 years to fellow alumni who can’t be bothered to even know we have a game that Saturday. But I had a realization when my family left the watching party on Friday and my oldest daughter (who I have indoctrinated and pushed towards attending North Texas since before the day she could understand words) said to me “dad, why do you want me to go to a school that doesn’t even take sports seriously? They know that coach and quarterback are bad, why won’t they fix it?” I didn’t have an answer for that. I can’t honestly answer why she (or I) should be more emotionally invested than the university is.7 points

8:15pm kick on a Saturday? Local? Mean Green Bowl Game? Fantastic. Christmas came early for me personally. See y’all there. #GMG7 points

I have seen a few tweets from the players complaining about this. An unmotivated team playing against a top tier G5 school is a recipe for disaster.7 points

I think Stone finished with 9 points and4 rebounds. I think he is improving some as he plays more. I thought he was shooter but so far he has not shown that side of the game yet. Ruben and Tyler had no baskets. Glad to Scott was back on the floor tonight. I thought people were saying he was out for the season. The freshman guard looks he is going to a real talent. He is hitting his 3's.7 points

It’s not just about giving Art a chance. Even if the university decides to hire him, he is almost 70 and has been out of the game for 7-8 years. He would also have to recruit and convince parents to overcome any concerns they may have about his past. This would have a very high chance of failing disastrously.6 points

Refusing to financially support the program is the only way to force the administration into making a long overdue change. My wife and I were season tickets holders and avid supporters for years. The last season tickets we purchased were in 2021 and we became so frustrated with the situation that we only attended two games. We didn’t renew our tickets this year and have no regrets. Would certainly love to return but SL has to go or we will not.6 points

There are lines I wouldn’t want UNT to cross to win and this is one of them. If we have great success under Briles and ANY impropriety is discovered (warranted or supremely exaggerated) the NCAA will destroy our small program that doesn’t have a history of caring about FBS level Football deeply. I want to experience another conference title that isn’t vacated and before I go to the Club seats in the sky.6 points

I like and agree with a lot of your takes, generally. And I don't think Mosley should or shouldn't get the job. However, the bolded here is a deep rooted problem at UNT. It's the country club model that employees of the department do... go around shake hands and rub elbows while smiling so when the going gets tough, well by golly he's a swell guy. Look, I don't care if the devil, Santa Clause, Easter bunny, bugs bunny, or Jesus is our AD. Hire people that win. Fire people quickly that don't. Build the fan base while fundraising your ass off. And if you can't, then we'll see ya. I don't need to shake your hand or see your face, unless your on a stage helping a sponsor executive present a trophy to our football or basketball coach.6 points

He is one of the 3 best defensive players on the team, and very tough on the boards for a Guard. We all hope his shot starts coming through, but he does add a lot of non-scoring value.6 points

I got slammed for writing an opinion piece for a UNT outlet about how Briles could be a potential Head Coach for UNT. And I wasn’t even necessarily campaigning for him but just asking for a change and was going to do a whole series about a few coaches. So have fun with the response to this lol6 points

He certainly can, but he should be the clear choice after a national search to make sure we have the best. These hires don't happen often, must get it right5 points

It's our defense that I can't stand. 124th in total defense, 107th in rushing defense, 115th in passing yards allowed, 110th in scoring defense, 123rd in 3rd down conversion, and 127th in 1st down defense. Arguably the worst defense in the country. If anything, this is Littrell's crux. We have consistently been good at moving the ball and scoring points. We have been absolutely atrocious at resembling a Division I defense the last many years.5 points

Not surprised. Alumni will support winners. When the fundraising for a new stadium started I made the donation and commitment for Club Level seating. I could finally see we were getting serious about football. 10 hour round trip to watch UNT football in a very fine facility. Sadly, I no longer make the trip (too far and I’m too old) to see crappy football. I’m sure others are the same. But I do donate enough to get two basketball season tickets. And due to distance I won’t attend those games either. However, should UNT deliver on a good football coach I’ll revisit the Club Level again.5 points

Simple solution. If you want to watch UNT play live, then buy your season tickets. Your a consumer nothing more, no one owes you anything. If you Cowboys ticket you don't get to pick the players. If you buy NASCAR tickets you don't to pick the driver's crew chief. You are buying tickets for your own entertainment.5 points
