  1. My sergeant was already in the Christmas spirit and was going to let me off early, when she found out what time the game was, she went full Christmas mode and gave me the whole day off. Looking forward to a long bowl day.

  2. I appreciate that. I like reading everyone’s takes. It really shows me how passionate this fan base is. I, for one, don’t want to settle either. I was frustrated during the first half of the season like all of you. Something clicked during the Rice game. I can’t put my finger on it, but that was the turning point. The changes that were made brought this team together. Like in the Military, we got real close to our brothers during combat. Especially, in the heat of battle and you have each other’s back. You really can see what a person is made of when your back is against the wall. You either Freeze, run away/quit, or you fight with everything you got. This team dug deep and scratched and clawed their way out of that hole. So proud of what these young men are learning from our Coaches. You always learn the most during adversity. Again, thanks for supporting our boys!!! GMG

  3. All of us parents with young men on this team, want the team and our boys to be successful. We want them to be the best on the team too. I try not to hype mine up too much. I just tell him, “ You don’t have to be great, just don’t suck !!!!” Lol.

  4. Okay, starting to feel like you haven't been able to get your Mean Green fix in and the bowl game just feels too far away? Feel free to come march with fellow UNT Alumni in the McKinney Christmas Parade of Lights this Saturday. We just received confirmation that Scrappy and a few North Texas Cheerleaders will also be marching with us. Just put on your green and come walk with us. We'll be handing out glow sticks and candy to parade watchers as we walk. We'll have a UNT wrapped convertible and the Mean Green Tailgat'n Machine bus with us in the parade entry as well. Should be fun representing fellow UNT Alumni. Details in the Facebook link HERE.

  5. IMG_1733.MOV We are getting a kid that’s gonna push this whole QB room to be better. I’ve seen him play and his leadership skills. He has always pushed his teammates to work harder. Ruder, Aune, Martin, Drummond, and Head all have the ability to lead this team. However, It’s gonna take more than just working during practice time and team meetings to win this job. The one who eats, sleeps, and $h!ts football the most is gonna earn this. The one that is constantly telling his receiving core to stay after practice to run more routes and get timing down, the one that asks his running back to come before practice and work on their handoffs and play action, the one who studies film more than he is watching Netflix, the one that’s building a relationship with his O-Line is going to rise to the top. Great QBs, inspire their teammates to want to work harder. Sorry for the rambling. I’m just happy to be apart of the MG family and Im excited about this Bowl game and this Spring. GMG

  6. We'd all like some private info on what's going on in the locker room, but that kind of thing is better kept in the circle. I'll support any of the guys new or old, as long as they are giving it their full effort every day. If they represent UNT we should have their backs.

  7. So what if he is Ruder’s father, how does that give us the right to information that isn’t public? You don’t need to be rude to the man.

  11. Wow, a small little private bookstore that scratches and claws to survive and big supporter of our University is getting shat on for creating their own product and taking it to market. If you don't like it, don't buy it. They're a small business out there creating. You want something different, get licensed and start your own t-shirt business.

  12. Just bought 8 tickets. John Williams at Eastside/Oak Street, is doing a bus, drinks, food and game ticket package for $60 plus tax. Open to the first 100. Don't know the seat location yet but there isn't a bad seat at Toyota Stadium. Great deal. Even talked an alumn into flying in from Virginia for the game. Go Mean Green!

  17. You and CL have the kind of attitude we need around here. Thanks for bringing the energy. And thanks to Jace and his dad for being a part of it too. My family is made up of head coaches and quarterbacks and I have empathy for those facing the scrutiny and ignorance of the masses. That comes with the territory but it’s refreshing to see a fella have a good attitude about it so publicly to the fan base. #GMG brudda.

  21. Our identity wasn't RUN until the last 6 games of this season. And that's only because we don't have a QB. Littrell can point to his time as an OC and Mason Fine to prove he's fine running an offense that throws it all over the field.

  22. People downvoting positive comments here like we have an abundance of talent in the QB room here? OMG this forum make zero sense sometimes. This program need to swing for the fences when it comes to acquiring talent. If pans out to be just a notch or 2 above mediocre it could be huge here if the defense and running game stay consistent. Hell more competition in the QB room could be just the thing that makes Ruder step up. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  23. Littrell is not going anywhere this year, but let's keep these kind of threads going because apparently there can not be enough. NT has won 5 straight and just beat the only ranked school in history. Yes, I know Fry beat San Diego State after voting them up in the coaches poll. Fry routinely voted any close to good team NT was to play as number 2 in the nation and they magically appeared in the top 20. Voting them number 1 would be too obvious as those votes were shown. Are there better coaches than Littrell, the answer to that is obvious. However, can NT correctly identify and sign one of those coaches, that would be a big challenge. Enjoy, NT's success ending with I hope a bowl win. Than 2022 will determine Seph's fate.

  24. Yes. Our pregame is in the parking lot area mentioned at the top of this thread. We are expecting more people for the pregame tailgate than the Green Gator can handle. I’m told Miami is only expecting around 70 people at their pregame event. We are expecting 100x that.

  25. If your name is "Savage" and you play defense, I'm going to give you a shot to live up to your name. Maclin and Head will up the competition. I still think that we're still a QB away. We need to win this bowl game.

  30. For a QB the "potential" receiving talent is here. You have a good O-line and RB's that have to be accounted for. Mason is not too far gone that they cannot point to his results. If we can lay it out right this should be a good place to come. PS - not to mention a coach who has shown he will leave QB's in the game to help their stats

  31. Let’s be honest here. This game depends on two things. 1) can we run the ball as we want to and 2) can we get to the QB quickly enough to disrupt his timing. That’s the ballgame in my opinion.

  32. I am on record in the first half of the season calling for Seth’s job. Although I expect more than 6 wins at this point, I think we call all give him credit for keeping the team together and motivated to get to those 6 wins and a bowl. That rarely happens after 1-6 and I didn’t expect it. He earned my respect for that and it is clear he earned another season from the AD. So maybe it’s time to iron out our wrinkled $100 and root for a bowl win. Who cares who we are playing or which bowl it is? It’s a great opportunity for a very young team to practice and play together one more time. Hopefully this reduces how many head to the portal and attracts a couple recruits to join us. If Seth fails next year he is gone but he seems to have done the one thing I didn’t think possible: adapt. He changed the offense and started winning. If he now understands how to mold an offense around the talent he has (bc that wasn’t necessarily a strength before) then we might wins some games next year. The defense seems to have turned the corner and lots of talent returns.

  33. Or Bloesch and Jospeh also chiming in saying hey remember that Baylor/Briles Offense a few years back? We want to do that, and we want you to be the QB that throws for a billion yards in an offense that snaps the ball every 15 seconds

  34. I don't have an ounce of faith in a single QB coach Littrell has hired after GH. I do have faith in Eric Morris. If Ward regresses from 4600 YDs, 47 TDs and 10 INTs to 3200 yards, 28 TDs and 8 INTs? Yeah I'll take that over anything we have on the current roster
    4 points
  35. Not 100% sure if this is true, as we all saw Mason's regression after his QB coach left & was backfilled with Bodie Reeder. Are we sure Coach Joseph is a better QBs coach than Bodie Reeder?

  38. Since this has taken a turn into QB discussion (no way!), feels like it's important to point out Ruder is naturally talented enough to be a very VERY good QB for us. If he stays, he'll have a full offseason to get his confidence back and be our guy next year. If he leaves, it's probably best for him considering Head/Drummond will both be legitimate starting candidates next year - at least it seems that way. As many have said on here... no need to be jerks about it.

  47. Based on your later response, you are aware this poster is the father of a player on the team. I feel confident he knows exactly what he is going on. Also, I hope Ruder is back. I think the late arrival to campus hurt him and he was thrown in to the starting position when he wasn't fully ready. Personally, I think he would have benefited greatly from having Aune start the early games and get Ruder playing time late in games to help ease the transition. The young man is obviously talented. I hope we get the opportunity to see that talent developed.
