Sun Belt just bagged three P5 wins in one day...We need to collectively pick up the pace or we will soon be known as the worst conference in America. Outside of UNT, La Tech, UAB, Marshall and sometimes WKU, the rest of the conference is more or less god awful.11 points

Not to toot my own horn but your friendly neighborhood bulldog told you guys last week not to hit the panic button. Now here I sit just hoping we can beat HBU in two weeks.11 points

Now that we are on the other side of a COVID forced “off week” I think it’s important to turn our attention to SMU discussions. I’ll start. I hope they lose every day in practice this week. I hope they get booed when they order fast food. I hope their underwear feel a bit too tight when they walk around. I hope their cardboard cutout fans act like their real fans...only a few thousand show up, they pay little attention to the game, they leave in the third quarter, and they talk about how “back in the good ol’ days” they were the best cardboard figures in Texas. And I hope they leave Apogee on Saturday night understanding that nobody respects the University Park Broncos7 points

Absolutely not. The branding potential is so much better in CUSA. This is about our problems at commissioner. This is about Judy. Not sure how firing/hiring works at her position. Is she feeling pressure? Is she on a hot seat?7 points

Interesting to see that UNT received 5 votes in the latest coaches poll. In the AP poll there are some questionable teams receiving votes (as usual). If we can win against SMU I would be kind of shocked if we didn’t get at least a couple votes for the AP top 25. This is a big opportunity for us this season with so many teams out. I hope we can take advantage https://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings6 points

It's not about patches on a jersey and never has been. Conference can negotiate some TV exposure and bowl contracts but it all comes down to what you do about it. All the benefits of Big XII membership and Kansas football is still Kansas football, the good years are an aberration. SEC membership means Vandy football is still Vandy football. Last year Vandy lost to a terrible UNLV team that fired their coach for being so bad (who'd have thought hiring a coach straight from high school was a bad idea?). Nebraska cashes larger checks in B1G but they are on the same slide to mediocrity that started back in the Big XII. Having most favored status in Big XII hasn't changed the reality that the University of Texas is a program w/o clear and distinct leadership, they are governed by a Politburo of politicians and donors who can't agree on anything beyond the need to spend more. Always comes down to the individual school.6 points

Say what you want about how bad CUSA is and how things suck, BUT if UNT ever wants respect anywhere it needs to WIN CONSISTENTLY. Having two good seasons under a new head coach , Littrell , and then flopping back to a 4 and 8 season just repeats an age old UNT dilemma. If we don’t win it doesn’t matter what conference we’re in. (Boy what an old repeated NT rant, see you at Appogee)6 points

Until we are ranked, beat a ranked team, or win conference can we please stop talking about how other teams drag our conference down?6 points

Man I wish HBU got a full season because I would follow this spunky team the rest of the year. They are fun to watch and could you imagine an HBU vs NDSU game in Frisco at the end of the year! A bison husky battle in Toyota would be very entertaining. That would have been something to hope for in a year not named 2020. GMG6 points

Zach Kittley, the OC from HBU will be available after this next weekend and I would imagine the 100k that our previous QB coach was making will be a step up. West Texas kid, who's family is legendary in the state and world of track and field . . . if it worked out he would stay a long time potentially.4 points

The Huskies are making a game out of it, only down by one possession midway through the 3rd, down 13-21. ESPN+.4 points

His father is from Rule Texas and played football with Art Briles along with my cousins. It is a small world. I think he would be a good choice. If he is half as good at coaching football as his dad is at coaching track he would be an great choice.4 points

UNT has had many great opportunities to elevate itself over many, many years and the sad truth is we typically always choke. The most recent example is last season where after Littrell was offered the KState job we only could manage to win 4 games. There are too many examples to list but two that come to mind are the Mean Joe Greene statue unveiling where we let La Tech block a late chip shot field goal. Another would be Under McCarney when we had basically clenched the CUSA championship but lost a game at home to UTSA. Every single time UNT has a chance to build significant momentum over our history we seem to blow it. So as much as I would love to see us in the top 25 I am doubtful it can happen or should I say I refuse to get my hopes up.4 points

Another thing about SMU.....after starting 8-0 last year, they're 3-3 their last 6 games...4 points

I feel like our talent on the field is better than last year's game vs SMU. If the Oline grows from the first game, we tackle like we did the first game, and we don't turn the ball over...we absolutely have a fighting chance. SMU fans don't, some of the players don't, but I guarantee you Sonny Dykes is a little nervous game planning for Bean...he's a wildcard with his running ability. They shouldn't be able to sack Bean, or Aune for that matter, 5 times like they sacked Fine last year...they're both more mobile than Fine was. And the offense is moving faster....which will help. However this whole season to me is the "I hope Littrell proves me wrong and changes my mind" season. I don't think the line is out yet but I'm going to guess SMU will be favored by 10-14 points? If we win Saturday, this will be the best win under Littrell...history shows that when he plays good teams, not only does he lose, he gets the doors blown off. I'm hoping the talent improvement will show.4 points

It will come down to three things: 1) Can we get off the field on 3rd down 2) Can we keep them from hitting the home run ball on our secondary 3) Can we run the ball at all4 points

Stop it...don’t you know that you’re supposed to assume that every yard we give up Is an indictment of the entire defense, and every time a quarterback looks good against us it must be that we suck and not that they are talented? For the record, it’s likely to be a 28-20 ballgame at the end of the 3rd quarter. It was 43-17 at that point in Denton and we had begun to insert a lot of backups4 points

Once the A&M quarterback has the ball, he fakes to the left. No. He fakes to the right. He doesn't fake. He thinks about faking. He pretends to fake. I don't know where I am. I can't breathe.3 points

I mean if you looked at the sideline at all last year, it was almost always dead (minus Kason and 2 others) Just not the best group of guys chemistry wise. Relied on Mason waay too much, and it seemed that there was little leadership.2 points

Not CUSA but Texas Tech is leading HBU 21-10 after stopping HBU on a 4th and goal from the 1. Zappe has 242 passing yards at halftime. He was sacked on the last drive by Eli Howard, the last remaining FBS player from a Dan Mccarney roster.2 points
