  1. I’m sorry about tailgating. I think that has developed into an important part of game day. But your description of season ticket holders as “the biggest donors” may be a misnomer. According to the Mean Green Sports website, end zone season tickets are $120 with NO donation to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund. Red Zone season tickets (goal line-20 yard line) run $135. plus $25. to the MGSF, total $160. per season ticket. Scholarship season tickets (20 yard line to 40 yard line) are $185. plus a $150. donation to MGSF.a total of $335. Per season ticket. Not to sneeze at $160 or $335 but spread out over a season each game runs $26 or $55. Probably not much more than buying ribs and burgers for tailgating. We, the most ardent Mean Green supporters have been encouraged for decades to purchase season tickets. Unless you’re content to curl up in front of a TV with a brat, this season might be the best reason to do so. GO MEAN GREEN

  3. I started school at UT and enjoyed two seasons with my student tickets on the 45 yard line. That was a long time ago. Then I transferred to North Texas. Best move of my life on about 500 levels. If I gave what I give NT to UT, I would have zero stadium privileges and just be lost amongst the hundreds of thousands of donors. Here, I feel like a make a difference. And I am happy to be a part of it. Adding more of us little guys only makes things better for our teams. Buy in. Please. GMG

  4. Allow me to answer my own question...I put the question out on Twitter as well and received a prompt reply from Hank. Looks like the answer is "YES"...shows are a go...7PM, Tuesday evenings...starting this coming Tuesday (9/1)..in person from Rudy's BBQ in Denton. Hank said Learfield was preparing to release the info on social media as early as tomorrow. Nice of Hank to reply...and great news that at least one part of this season will remain pretty much the same. Well, that and UNT games at Apogee. Good to get some positive news!

  5. Most likely situation feels like it’ll be Aune starting, then Bean rotating in next. That was what they did in the scrimmage last week and it sounds like neither did anything that day to prove one was the undisputed starter over the other. That scrimmage was the conclusion of fall camp, and they went into season practice structure last week, so a lot more ones vs scout team and less ones vs ones. Hard to imagine Aune completely usurps the starting QB role in that type of setup, and even more hard to imagine Bean leap frogs Aune and becomes the undisputed starter in that setup.

  9. I have a total of 9 tickets for each game. 7 are in Section 209 on the first and second rows that they will seat (2 and 4). There may be games where I cannot use all of my tickets. I will sell what I won’t use for $10/ticket (basically covering my Poppy’s habit). If you are needing tickets and want me to reach out when tickets are available, let me know by PM. Probably won’t know until Friday evening for each game, but I will let you know as soon as I know. GMG

  10. Are we sure he is on scholarship there? From my understanding, grad transfer scholarships mess up a team’s future scholarship numbers and are only actually awarded to more elite players. Would OSU use one on a backup OL? Or might he just be a transfer student who has walked on to the football team?

  13. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the weekly Seth Littrell Radio Show for this season? Usually held at Rudy's BBQ in Denton on Tuesday nights during the season. With this Coronavirus plague upon us, I am wondering if it will just be "radio only" and broadcast only without fans in attendance and from some remote location? Anyone heard anything as yet? No Caravans, no open scrimmages, no open practices, no ticket pick-up event, no tailgating, no Green Brigade at halftime or before the games hearing the Cheer Team may not be allowed on the field.....geeezzzzz probably the least excited I have ever been about collage football season. But, I'll be there...cannot miss the Mean Green in action. Just not looking forward to all the necessary changes.

  14. I believe there is already a thread for ticket sales/exchanges here on GMG.Com, right? Absolutely a great place to unload tickets one might not be using...the folks here on GMG.Com are some of the most loyal and true fans we have. Give them first shot!

  18. If we can give our quarterback time to throw he can be dangerous. I keep thinking about Smith from LATECH, he was not a great qb but his line gave him so much time to throw he was a good qb. NO quarterback can be great if they are running for their life. we saw that last year.

  21. Wouldn't surprise me to keep it in house until the first snap. Even then, still wouldn't shock me for them to get mostly split reps this game and leave it a mystery who the starter might be for SMU. I'll take every advantage we can get for that game.

  22. 1. College Football News Preview 2020: North Texas Mean Green Win Total Prediction, What Will Happen Was 2019 just a blip, or did the 4-8 run signal a slide as the Seth Littrell era rolls on? Littrell got the program to a bowl game in his first three seasons, but as soon as the offense stopped putting huge numbers and points on a regular basis, the losses started to mount. On the plus side, there were a whole slew of injuries and inconsistencies, and four of the losses were by a touchdown or less and were very, very winnable. It’s not fair to do this, but if just two of those flipped the other way, the team is 6-6, off to a bowl, and the season was a mere dip. read more: https://collegefootballnews.com/2020/08/college-football-news-preview-2020-north-texas-mean-green/5

  26. Not sure why so many people are triggered by my assertion it takes almost no dollars at all to be a top Donor at UNT. The number of people between your average ticket holder (and donor, because you're compelled to as a ticket holder) and the McNatt & Lovelace families is probably no more than 1k to 2k people. Probably one of the smallest spreads between the top and bottom in the FBS. Don't get mad... Do better.

  29. I gave up my hub club tickets this year. But I have a friend who has four and more than likely will not use them (getting up in age). I bet he will be wanting to sell his tickets each week when he decides not to go.

  33. Not catching the ball with his hands is hurting him. That and not coming back to the ball on the out that the CB batted away. Easy fixes that he needs to work on.

  35. There may be a lot of truth to what you are saying, but I feel like McCasland tries to sprinkle in some morale-boosting moves like this every now and then. It seems to me that he has shown an above average degree of loyalty to his players when compared to your status quo D1 basketball coach. Could he have upgraded the roster by awarding the scholarship to an external recruit? Probably so, but perhaps this is a testament to the fact that he feels comfortable with where the roster currently is and sees more value in proving to his players that hard work will be rewarded, even for those way down the bench. That's my take anyway, but who knows?

  38. 5-6 I expect better, unfortunately I think the shimmer is starting to wear off and Littrell might be exposed for what he is. A middling offensive minded coach that lucked into a once in a generation QB. Closer to a Kevin Wilson rather than a Mike Leach or Art Briles. I'd love to be proved wrong.

  39. Both Texas and A&M are such underachievers, except at making money. Add in the Cowboys and you can see that while this state prides itself on football, the results leave you less than impressed.
