Before the mode delete this, I wanted to get the word out that Keegan Brewer with throw the 1pitch tonight at the Collin County alumni game at the Rough Riders. Come on out to see the Legend. Keegan is now a Frisco Fire Fighter.3 points

Wonder if he will fake it and run it to the catcher?3 points

If these are the real deal, freshly battered and dipped, corn dogs from the state fair and similar to what we had at Fouts....this is the best news of the year. Even better than Seth not leaving for K-State.3 points

Not our loss at at all when Cal and Texas Tech get added to the schedule as replacements. Sidebar: I've noticed in a couple of forums and comment sections, particularly in The Athletic, that Army fans are really salty about this.3 points

The defense has gaps to fill, and the 2019 schedule has the Mean Green with two crucial conference road games against Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech.2 points

That’s what I was hoping for when I first read the other day that Dr. Smatresk was placed on the executive board. Rick2 points
-
I never follow these articles. It's always a crap shoot for their rankings of Group of 5 programs, and what has Southern Miss shown that has everyone rank them so high? Genuine question. Everyone has them as favorites and I'm not sure as to why2 points

So far, next to kettle corn my favorite food at The Ap has surprisingly been the barbecue sandwiches. Decent price and a decent flavored sandwich. Rick2 points

I hear that concern. This staff has proven they can take under rated/under recruited skill kids and turn them into solid players. I think this kids recruitment will pick up as schools boards fill up2 points

This is perfect. The only thing that will turn the tide on the general CFB attendance slide is finding ways to make the stadium experience stand apart from the many alternatives available to those who aren't as die hard as the ones on this board. Many are motivated to make at least the annual trek out to Globe Life Park to get food items that can't be duplicated elsewhere. This vending relationship adds one more reason to say "the Apogee experience is unmatched."2 points

The Star sucks as a basketball venue. Great location, but that is not a basketball venue and it looks poor on television. Somebody lock Judy in there and let’s run far, far away from there.2 points
-
As I and others have posted before,...Judy needs to go. But after reading that I’m starting to think that as a conference maybe we deserve what we have? In the very least we know Marshall see’s the problem as well. Rick2 points

The first two have committed: Corny Dogs and Funnel Cakes. Deep Fried Twinkies should commit over the weekend.2 points

Rice game that year. A friend and I were roasting their defense and one of the defensive coaches. My friend told them to go recruit better players so the coach turned around and yelled "F*ck off!" To my friend. It was amazing. I cussed back at them and was warned I would be escorted out if it happened again. It was worth it though after the Rice coach responded. We won the game and as the players were walking along the student section giving high fives, one of our number 8s, I believe it was Trice, jumped onto the the wall and all us students swarmed him smacked his helmet as we cheered. We nearly dragged him into the seats. Lifelong UNT fans were made that night. I'll always remember it.2 points

I think this is their game faces. what is the world coming to? Are the guys in the gray shirts the coaches?1 point

I sure do love college football Saturdays at The App. The App is the best small stadium in the country. If there's one thing RV did right, it's THE APP1 point

CUSA really dropped the ball on not snatching up Dickie's Arena for the next few years. And The Star is not a great location. It sucks for the same reason Toyota Stadium sucks (read: too far from the majority of DFW, only way in or out is toll roads/side roads, local population is more interested in Costco than sports, etc).1 point

DRC: Three-star safety knew Jennings back to his days at Texas Tech https://dentonrc.com/sports/unt-picks-up-commitment-from-waco-safety/article_3d02c70c-1521-5641-a8ca-cf96f499fea8.html1 point

That's gonna depend on how hard he wants to work, and I'm sure that ethic was assessed by coach Jennings prior to an offer going out.1 point

Everyone thought TheReal_jayD was talking about high school kids when he said three committed last night. Nope. Corny Dogs and Funnel Cakes are two of the three. Expect Deep Fried Twinkies to commit over the weekend! These signings will help us win the conference "Best Stadium Food" title this year!1 point

1/3 spoke to several people in the industry and they believe he’s a kid that is very unpolished meaning the potential for him to become an elite player for us is very high. A lot of HS kids you get usually have received so much training and work that, what you see is what you get. Not what I’m hearing about this kid.1 point

Ok I’ll give you five. 1. Video gaming can be addictive and becomes excessive. That excessiveness promotes an unhealthy, sedentary lifestyle. 2. Not all, but many promote graphic violence and minimizes everything related to that violence. 3. It’s excessiveness can lead to arthritic or carpel tunnel type conditions much like over exertion with key padding, typing..etc 4. It’s excessiveness detracts kids from their more important responsibilities.....like school work and chores. 5. And last but not least...iT’S NOT SPORTS. Rick1 point

Uh...no...I’ll push back on that. If you look at the schools that actually sponsor e-sports it’s a who’s who of nobody institutions. Secondly, it doesn’t take a millennial to realize you don’t need a scholarship to be good at video games. This is a marketing ploy. To call it shrewd is respectfully laughable1 point

Thank you. According to some research I did a few years back about bobble head collections,...next to a certain year Roberto Clemente bobble head the 60’s era NTSU Scrappy is among the most sought after? No idea if that is true or not now days? But the Scrappy was made in China and only 600 were circulated. So they are rare. It’s crazy to think that I bought mine for $7.50 at a second hand furniture store just a block south of the Denton square the week I moved into my first apartment. I have a funny story(married couples funny at least) about that. My wife of 21 years collected Hummel figurines while we were dating and once we moved into our house she put her collection in our China hutch to display. I think the most she ever paid for one was around $250? Well,...I put my Scrappy in there too and she didn’t like it at all. And every time we had a family gathering she’d remove the bobble head and I’d have to go look for it hidden somewhere in the house, and this battle continued for a few years. Not long after, I met GMG’s Adler who has a nice Mean Green collection of his own. Adler told me those Scrappy bobble heads are rare and collectible. So I told my wife about it and she scoffed at that. I told her I had reason to believe that my Scrappy might even be worth more than any of her Hummels and of course she laughed and said there’s no freaking way,....and that “College stuff needs to go somewhere else other than the hutch...etc”,...and the battle raged on from there. ......until the night that all changed. My wife is a school counselor and comes home pretty wiped out every afternoon during the school year and usually goes to bed early. Since I work shift work I stay up late and one night I get a message with a link in it from Adler for a Scrappy bobble head up for bid on eBay,. It had several bids at the time, and the highest bid was like $1600. I couldn’t believe it, and thought to myself...”what a perfect time to end the Scrappy vs Hummel battle once and for all. So I turned on the printer, printed it out, walked into the bed room, flipped on the overhead light and yelled..”Hey,..WAKE UP!!!!”(thinking back on it now I realize it’s a wonder I didn’t get shot?). Anyhow she raised up and looked at me and yelled “What the...??”. I walked over and held that print out in front of her and asked..”Any of your Hummels Worth $1600!!!!!?????”. She stared at it a second in amazement,... then not wanting to give up says..”Well there’s a fool born every day!”. And again I asked ...”You got a Hummel some fool would pay $1600 for?”. Lost for words she just kept looking at the print out. I snapped back..”Didn’t think so...SCRAPPY STAYS PUT!”....and I walked out. And he’s been in there ever since,...true story. Rick1 point

2013 was my senior year of college, that was a year I will never forget! It's real awesome to hear what that 2013 season did for the freshman class! Just goes to show, what winning and the publicity of it does for our future alumni at UNT. Think about what Fine/Littrell are doing for current and future fans to come!1 point

It was 1978........we signed the #1 running back in Texas, Milton Collins (from Blooming Grove). He was that year's Eric Dickerson or Adrian Peterson. He was the top running back in the state. If there had been National 100 lists (like Rivals) back then, Milton would have been on it. Back then, players could sign conference letters of intent in the SWC. (They signed those a week before National letters of intent were signed.) What those conference letters of intent did......once a player signed one of those, no one else in the conference could sign the kid. But, teams that weren't in the SWC, could sign a player to a National letter of intent, which overrode a conference letter. Milton had signed a SWC letter of intent with A $ M. Well, Hayden went in, and stole Milton from them. I'll never forget the coverage we got for that. Channel 4 (then CBS) showed Hayden arriving at the Collins' family house on signing date. As I recall, it had snowed that morning, so Hayden was shown there, wiping his feet off, as he entered the Collins' house. Unfortunately though, Milton was never the stud in college, that he was in high school. I guess, in his case, going from 1A or 2A (whatever Blooming Grove was) was too much of a jump up in talent. I don't think he ever ran for even 300 yards (or more) in any season. As a matter of fact, toward the end of his career, he was switched to D Line. And, as I recall.....he also did our kickoffs one season. One more thing about Milton. Bless his heart, he may have had a tough life......because he was the oldest looking 18 year old, I have ever seen, before or since. He looked at least 30. But for a while.......signing date and the months afterward....his signing gave us a lot to crow about. Too bad his UNT career wasn't a little better.1 point

Milton played all four years at NT ending his career as a starting defensive lineman. I have problems with talking about Milton Collins has a bust as he gave NT great publicity being considered the number one recruit in the state and he did contribute to the team. No he was not close to being the next Earl Campbell as touted but he was far from being a wasted ship.1 point

I thought he stayed with us, for four years. But according to the Media Guide, he only earned letters in '78 and '79. I don't remember him transferring to SMU, but you may be right. As for his little brother....we had a Darrin Collins who played at NT in the mid-late 80s. Darrin, as I recall, was from Carthage (in Northeast Texas). Not sure if he and Milton were related or not.1 point
